but I do not know what should I buy
I've got the scosche foldio & really like it because it hardly adds any bulk to the tab.
Hi,
I would advice you to at least buy 2 case.
1. Foldable leather case with at least 2 landscape standing position groove
This one for premium feel & function outing.
2. Left, right & back protected transparent hard plastic case
This one for light & casual outing.
I'd also recommend the Zenus case, which isn't on the list. I got mine last month, and am pretty pleased with it. It's leather and adds some thickness, but it still fits in my coat pocket, but not most of my jeans' back pockets. I may break down and get a lighter one late Spring, or might just carry it around naked.

The Zenus is a very well made case, it looks classy and isn't bulky, doesn't cover any of the screen and the stand on it is solid and works well. I'm very pleased with the purchase, unlike the stock Samsung case which is quite poorly designed.
Yeah, after some weeks searching,
i found my favorit

hm... expensive
Melkco Leather Case
I'm also looking for a tab case - great post with the video links. Since I'm new to the forum I can't post links, but google:
Melkco leather case galaxy tab
and it comes right up.
Retails at $69 USD. Pricey, but looks great.
otterbox case after a few drops i still love it.
I absolutely loathe cases where you have to slide the Phone/Tab into.
Not only are they difficult to put in and remove the device but they obstruct part of the screen and when you are swiping the leather edges can get in the way.
I much prefer the type that allows you to 'clip the Tab into place.
This method is easy to insert/remove and does not restrict the screen in any form.
Noreve do one (see here fore link) ~ This one has the added advantage of additional pockets for cards, notes, etc. and can be used as a stand to hold the Tab in Landscape.
Plus you can design the case to your own liking.
However, it's missing one vital ingredient for me and that is I would like to be able to remove the leather part that covers the screen.
I've seen cases where the case comes apart allowing you to remove the top screen cover which in turn makes it easier to hold and use the Tab when standing and if you put it down and want the screen on but not in it's stand you don't have a top cover flap hanging off at the side.
So... anyone seen a case similar to the Noreve but has a detachable screen cover?

It's an interesting design and as always the Apple brand gets the 'prettiest' of designs.
Not sure about that release mechanism though.... I'd rather have the top cover come completely off thus ensuring the sides and back are still protected.
Scosche Foldio is the best, no added bulk, easy to put in jacket pocket, even in a the back pocket of my jeans, easy to take out and show off if needed and makes an awesome stand.
I really like the Samsung Slide Release Sleeve. It protects the tab well but lets you get it out easily to use it. The Tab is a sexy device, no sense having it hidden away all the time!
I also have the "d30" leather travel case (from Carphone Warehouse) which is really nice for travelling (makes a good stand) but unfortunately it partially covers the soft buttons which can make it a pain to use.
I just received my ' Case Mate - Barely There '.
It is exactly what i was looking for. Not scared to place it on the table or sunroom floor anymore in case of scratching the back. I think the tab looks excellent in its all new black look
Now hopefully it will fit in the Brodit holder for my van
aha! TY for these links! helped me decide on 2 cases.
I purchased one of the "HQ Smart Flip" Nexus 7 cases recently, and after about a week of use I'm sharing my impressions >>>
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HQ-Smart-Fl...K_iPad_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item2577aef893
Fit & Finish: Everything is top notch fit and finish. Nexus snaps in securely with no play. Cutouts are absolutely perfect size and position with quality finish on all the edges. I purchased the blue case. Exterior is your standard pleather/ vinyl with nice cuts. I don't see any imperfections. Interior is your standard suede felt.
Functionality: This is a smart case, and it works as expected. Consistently on when opened and off when closed. I don't experience any accidental sleep when the cover is folded behind the Nexus. The cover tri-folds as expected for a stand. I don't have issues with it collapsing when using the stand. I have successfully used NFC with the case on.
Considerations: The front flap does not secure to the nexus. (I preferred this for the slimmest style smart cast) It lays on the front of the screen fine for putting in my laptop bag. Also, the stand is designed for landscape. I don't see this being functional for portrait viewing.
The case feels as sturdy as anything I would expect, however I question overall wear since it's made from pleather. I can envision cracking/ tearing from folding the front cover behind the nexus. I assume this is the same issue with any version of this style case.
The pictures in the listing are exactly as I received it. The represent the product as well as I could. Shipping was from China and just under 2 weeks to my door. Just under $20 shipped for me.
Bonus: Seller shipped the OTG adapter (works as expected and decent quality) as well as the Micro SD adapters.
Hey fellas,
Got my hands on another case for the Note II, this time it is the Tridea Italian leather flip case. It is reminiscent of the SGP Valentinus case, although it is much more affordable and not as bulky. It's a folio style case, so it features a front flap to keep your display protected. Unfortunately there is nothing to hold it in place, so it tends to flap around. The ports and cutouts are spot on, however.
Check out the full video review below;
great review
Cheers! Happy to help
do you reccomend this case mate? i would like one with the flip cover to protect the screen, but would also like a case tough enough to protect my phone in case of drops or bumps. it looks like flip covers are all "light" protective, while tough cases are way too bulky or do not provide any protection to the screen (no plastic film protectors for me! i hate them!). thank you a lot!!!
The flap actually isn't a big deal. I've been using a similar case for a week now and unless you have a giant pocket the flap stays shut.
I actually prefer not to have a magnetic or grommet styled securing device.
And let's face it. as for drop protection, these type of cases just don't compare to the UAG or Otterbox cases.

So basically you say that this case goes for style and look and moderate protection, while the others go for enhanced protection, right? Just as I thought... Does it exist a tough case as uag but with a flap or such to cover the screen? I am afraid because of 4 hours of commuting a day... A little bump or sudden train braking may make me drop my phone.. And I wouldn't trust only a plastic film to protect the screen. Holsters like otterbox defender one, on the other hand, are uncomfortable to use while in the crowd and one handed..
Thank you for your suggestion, this case looks superb, but maybe it's not the right thing for me...
Galaxy Note II - Alliance Rom
I keep hoping for someone to make a UAG with a flip cover.

I just returned the case to Amazon for 2 reasons.
1- The flap was warped - and did not cover the screen right.
2- There is virtually no top or bottom protection - the device is held only on the sides - the top and bottom are naked.
On the plus side - I have'nt seen a product with this good quality - in a long time. It is a really well made case - just not tough and protective enough for my taste.
Im using this one for few months and I like it.

I'm looking for a case with the following properties but can't see to find one:
1.) Folio style - i.e. Something like the Blurex or Incipio Leather case. MUST be lightweight enough and minimize bulk so that it can still fit in a pants front pocket.
2.) Glass on front is totally unobscured. Blurex or Incipio has this as well.
3.) An elastic band attached not to the cover half, but rather to the half to which the tablet is secured. This way, the elastic band can be used to keep the cover secured when not in use, and can ALSO be used to keep the cover folded back when in use. The Blurex and Incipio can't do the latter because the elastic band is attached to the cover itself. When closed, it wraps around the back to keep it secure, but can't be used to secure the cover when open because it would cover the screen.
4.) Auto wake/sleep magnet.
5.) Some kind of stand mechanism would be nice, but is not essential.
Does anything out there fit the bill?
How about the MoKo case? [Amazon]

Looks just like the Blurex case. Nice, but the elastic band is on the wrong side. If you want to use it to keep the cover open you either cover part of the screen or loop it awkwardly around the clasp to avoid covering the screen.
I have a marware kindle touch case that has the elastic band attached to the other side (the same side that holds the device). You wrap it over the front to keep it closed and wrap it over the back to keep it open. Very simple. Frustrating that I can't find a nexus 7 case with the same mechanism.
This is my review of the Gmyle Book Case Vintage wallet/folio case
This folio/wallet case is made of PU leather but the material looks and feels like leather. The bookcase design is original and adds a nice touch to the phone. The spine of the case has some nice gold patterns that remind of old book designs.
Inside the case, you will find 3 card slots and one id slot on the left, as well as a pocket for cash. The plastic case holding the phone is black and is made of flexible plastic. I’m not sure if this is the same material as that used in the Galaxy S5 case, which a lot of users criticized for falling apart after a few days. The phone sits pretty tightly in the plastic sleeve. However, the sleeve is so flexible that I’m not sure whether the phone would effectively remain attached to it in case of a fall. Cutouts allow easy access to all the ports and the S-pen is easy to pull.
The case adds some bulk to the phone. When the wallet is closed, the total thickness is 0.75”. However, the case seems to provide a higher level of protection than bumpers and other slim cases. In particular, the thick PU material adds some cushion, which may be able to absorb some energy during a fall. The back of the case is pre-folded to allow the case to act as a stand maintaining the phone in a comfortable landscape viewing position. One limitation of the bookcase design is the lack of a cutout on the front cover, which prevents the use of the phone for a call with the case closed. The thickness of the case in the closed position may also make this case incompatible with car docks/holders.
Summary: Overall, this is a great wallet case at this price level. If you're more interested in an authentic leather case and you don't mind paying extra, I recommend the Davis Case (reviewed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/accessories/review-daviscase-wallet-folio-bookcase-t3198304)
Pros:
- original design that will make your Note 5 stand out of the crowd
- nice texture and color for PU material
- cheap
Cons:
- no easy phone call with the case closed
- no auto awake/sleep feature
- may require the need for a screen protector to prevent the cards located in the card slots from rubbing against the screen
