Problem with reply path for sms

Alright. I bought Bell's Version of the of the galaxy s.
Within the first few days i messaged someone using a accidental area code (426) Instead of 416.
and now i cannot figure out how to change it back.
Every time i receive a message from said person, it sets my reply path to 426.
So I receive messages in one thread but have to reply in another.
I've also installed handcent
From what i can tell, its not saved on my sim or contacts.
I'm so lost
Please help.

just go into your contacts, and edit the contact number

Its not saved.
I have the 416 number saved
But when i reply it replies to 426
Its weird the 426 number isn't saved on my phone.
So I have to

I have exacly the same problem with a number of one of my contact.
The first sms i have send was wrong. 0606Xxx instead of 06xxx.
Since i have change my contact but when i send a sms it's allways the bad number.
I have clean all history. I delete my contact et recreate. I d'ont know what to do else.
If you have idea? thanks a lot

login to your gmail account update the user phone number in your gmail account
then sync the phone
if you have a duplicated contact in phone and gmail, merge them

Well the number is kinda not saved in contacts
Like its a problem I have with messaging
The 416 number issaved.
Thee 426 is not.
I synced it sand edited out but it still happens

Its as if the contact is saved somewhere else.
I dunno
Its a problem with android from what i hear.

It fixed itself after I flashed with darky's gingerbread rom

[Q] contact recover help

I recently installed the cognition OS on my captivate and I am loving it. But I have run into an issue where my contacts doesn't show in contacts but when they text me it shows there full contact info but that wont go into my contacts. can anyone please help?

Bit of an update if it helps. When I dial through my hands free I can see all my contacts. Any idea how to make them visable in my phone?

They appear to be in there some where. Go to contacts on your phone. Hit the menu button then display. Make sure all options are selected to view. Phone, sim, google

Options are gone in contact icon dock.

Hi.
I hope you'll the problem I see in my phone. When you look at your contacts and click on the contacts name, this dock appereas and option you to send sms , email, call, skype call and so on.
If you install another email app and different sms app, it should show them as optional as well. I don't get that in my phone anymore. Please help me fix it.

Cyanogen Contact Problem

Hello,
i have a problem with the new cyanogenmod by nightlies .31..
When using this rom i cant see contacts saved on my simcard.
The next thing i cant save new contacts to simcard, all other options are available.
Dont know whats the problem. I can make phone calls, can surf in mobile internet everthing works very well ..
Now the real strange thing.. If i go back to modaco fr17 all my sim contacts are available and i can save new contacts to it..
p.s. Of course im using the newest clockworkmod, wipe date + wipe cache before flashing new rom.

Why on earth would anyone want SIM contacts anyway, one number per contact sucks.
ASOP contacts barely has any support for SIM contacts anyway, if it worked properly, all it would be able to do is import them to the phone's memory, not save to SIM.

I had this problem too it was so annoying because I backed my numbers up to sim so when I started up I could transfer them over but they couldn't be found! I changed to modaco and all is fine again, Im not entirely sure what causes the problem.

[Q] GoSMS Contact Issues

For some reason GoSMS is displaying contacts' old numbers (which I have since deleted from the Android contacts app when typing a name in the To field. It's kind of annoying, especially because they're numbers which have been deleted for a reason... I don't need to be texting a number that doesn't exist anymore. How can I put an end to this confusion?

Just tried that, didn't solve it.

Are the numbers stored on your Sim card? All of my contacts are stored on my phone and Sim, so I see double when searching for names.

Nope, no contacts on my SIM, just my Google account.
