Hi,
I recently bought a brand new Nexus One in the Netherlands, Tried it for a while in stock mode and decided that i didn't like the interface without Sense. So i wanted to flash the new desire build to it.
I Rooted my N1 with 1 click root (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747598) and then installed the rom-manager app from the market.
I installed the Clockwork recovery from the rom-manager app.
Then decided to first upgrade the radio to the korean version (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=723839) using update.zip from the SD-card and the recovery menu..
This all worked like a charm. Booted my N1 and checked the new radio image and everything was fine..
Of course i still had to flash a new rom so i once again prepared an update.zip with the new CM6 mod. And entered the bootloader to go back to recovery menu. and that is when the sh*t hit the fan.. Couldn't boot recovery anymore..
I then tried a normal boot and no luck either...
since i could still enter fastboot i unlocked my phone (thought that was the problem (i know stupid but hey..)) and flashed everything back to stock. or at least V2.1 system image..
No luck either. no boot no recovery...
I finally managed to boot my phone when i installed the last cyan bootloader but now my SD-Card, and USB don't work anymore (USB still works in the bootloader)
Now i'am really out of options, the korean radio flashed my hboot to v0.35 which ensures that i can't flash any other system roms. I can't access my phone thru USD or SD card while booted so i can't revert my Hboot.
The only thing i could still think of is perhaps a full system.img of V2.2 but i can't find that anywhere only updates wich i can't install cause my recovery does not work and my SD card does not work
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Laurens

So.. your phone isnt able to boot?
Are you able to use fastboot?
If so, you can try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850
This is all fastboot. This will take you to EPE76. then just download the FRF85B update. After that FRF91 should download from system updates.

I installed CM6 stable on my N1 after performing a nand backup. I restored to the original rom today to check something out. Now I can't boot into recovery. I get the exclamation android Guy. I used amonRA. Any suggestions?
i've got the same error and i tried with awrecovery.img instead of recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.img and its working

I think the stock ROM flashes stock recovery when you reboot. You are actually in stock recovery when you see that screen. Try hitting the volume down and power buttons at the same time. Same exact thing happened to me.
I just decided to skip the stock ROM for that reason.
I bet there is a workaround for it though.
One work around would be to flash recovery using rom manager.
pwig is right, you replaced your recovery with the stock one.
You need to re-root (if the stock isn't rooted - which I believe it isn't, since the only builds that include recovery are completely stock), and after rooting re-flash the recovery with Amon_RA's recovery.
I just got a Nexus One. I have OEM unlocked, rooted and kinda put CWM recovery on it. I tried TWRP but it never went past the splash screen. CWM works sometimes and sometimes it goes back to stock recovery. Also, Every ROM I try to install, fails. Anyone have threads to point me too?

kinda put CWM ?
Which ROMs are you trying to install? ICS , Sense and JB ROMs need updated HBOOTS.

So, I had to replace my HTC One.
The new one is 1.55 -- I am still S-On.
Today I flashed CWM 6043 using fastboot after unlocking the bootloader through HTC.
I flashed SuperSU.
I attempted to flash two of the newer roms (InsertCoin and Renovate) because I wanted Sense 6.
After successfully going through the flash, the phone reboots and goes straight back to Fastboot. If I go into the Bootloader and try to go into Recovery, it just kicks me back to the bootloader. I can then use fastboot to reflash CWM 6043 again and do it all over.
Same thing.
Every time.
Thoughts?
So.
I flashed 42One through Sideload and it launched fine. The only difference I can see (since this one is 4.4.2 as well) is that it didn't use the fancy rom installation package (can't remember the name) -- is there an incompatibility?
Or, maybe not. After booting I get to the unlock screen but after unlocking, all I see is the HTC splash screen but can still interact with the notification tray and the long press power menu...
Hmm.
Flashed a new kernel that has sense 6 support, still no luck. It has to be the AROMA installer.
Read somewhere that CWM Touch interferes wiht Aroma -- trying TWRP.
No luck, the aroma installer on both of those roms is killing the custom recovery. I don't know what else to do, any other ideas?

What recovery and version are you using
Which Rom are youu currently trying to flash (Sense 6?)? Which Kernel?
@bored_stupid -- I used TWRP 2.7 and 2.7.0.3 as well as CWM 6.0.4.3
@R34LY - I flashed the teaMSeven-sense-4.4.2-6th-v2.3.6 kernel.
For what it's worth, I just used the Guru Reset 3.04 rom to flash back to stock -- it's an Aroma installer as well -- and it worked fine, is booting now, not stuck on the bootloader/didn'e lost custom recovery.
Hmm.
However, I'm having the same issue of just having the HTC splash screen on this rom as well, I'm going to reflash the stock kernel.
Actually, it's just boot looping now. I've got to bounce and pick someone up from the Airport, so I'll pick this up later, I suppose. Arf.
Can I flash a RUU on 1.55 S-On? Maybe I'll just do that and try to go all the way back.

Well at least you now have a working phone, i noticed with ARHD 51 and 52 that the phone would just go to a black screen. A hard reset solved it and it boots fine after that. ARHD 53 does not suffer from the issue.
By the way Kit Kat requires TWRP 2.6.3.3 or newer
I'm using TWRP 2.6.3.3 and Elementalx 13.5.1 and it works perfect for me. Have you tryied this combination? Assuming you are up to a custom kernel.
No, it's not working -- still doing the looping showing the HTC splash, but I can still access the long-hold power button menu. I'll try @r34dy suggestion.
Post your feedback when you tryied it!

Tried to flash 2.6.3.3 -- when I booted itno recovery, it showed a black screen and restarted.
So i flashed 2.7.0.3. -- it worked fine.
Flashed InsertCoin, didn't reboot, immediately flashedElementalX 13.5.1. Rebooted.
Same thing, straight to fastboot, if I go in bootloader and try to boot recovery, it loops back and I have to re-flash recovery.
I'm at a point now where I am trying CM11/SlimKat/Etc. using ElementalX 13.5.1 kernel.
It seems to work... but as it gets to the 'setup screen' in CM or SK, reboots the phone ~7 seconds in, every time, just looping.
I used factory reset, same thing.
Tried ElementalX 11.7 -- same thing, the rom runs for ~10 seconds or so, it gets the apps upgraded, even boots to the main screen -- I can literally see the home screen on the SlimKat installation with ElementalX 11.7 -- then it restarts itself.
Even in safe mode, it's looping after ~10 seconds post boot. Hmmmm.
Hi,
I got my brother's old HTC One M7 and tried to flash the ROM.
I have experience with Samsung Devices so I figured it worked the same way.
I install cyanogenmod using their installer. It worked, but dreadfully slow (slower than the stock rom).
So I downloaded Android Revolution 53.0, put in the /Downloads folder and went into recover and tried to install from zip.
It appeared as if the installation went through, and now the phone is stuck on the HTC quietly brilliant screen.
I can go into HBOOT, FASTBOOT, RECOVERY.. But I can't seem to get past it.
Just went into recovery and see "No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?"
Please help!
Thanks.
First question....what version recovery are you using

To revive this thread.
So, I was able to figure out the original problem or at least get around it.
For whatever reason Android Revolution HD wouldn't install despite trying to flash the ROM using TWRP or CWM recovery.
I was able to get CyanogenMod and LiquidSmooth to work without issues.
I later used a Nandroid backup of a Bell Mobility (CID BM____001) and return it to "stock" JB.
I'm trying to get KIT KAT on it, I get the OTA update notification, but after it initiates the installation, device reboots into my custom recovery.
So, I tried to flash the stock BM recovery, and BM Stock KitKat install starts, but then I get a teal and pink screen back to back and get stuck on the HTC / Beats screen.
Any help is appreciated.
OK, your first problem sounds like you didnt flash the Boot.img first through fastboot, before trying to install the ARHD Rom, extract it from the zip file you downloaded and flash it through fastboot, then flash the rom, I believe Sense Roms (ARHD) will not work on non sense rom boots like CyanogenMod.
Post 3 problem is you need to install the stock recovery first.
Thanks for the quick response.
I've gotten further than where I was about an hour ago.
I realized when I flashed the stock recovery for BM_001, it was an older version (mismatched my ROM).
I flashed the the stock recovery version of my stock ROM, and I was able to get KIT KAT.
Now, it's doing a 2nd OTA update to get SENSE 6.
Will post update as soon as it's done. Hopefully it's successful.
