Hi,
My Tab p1000 stock DXJPE shuts down itself. I've just only pressed power button to switch off the screen, and when pressing it again nothing lit up, so I long pressed it. Unrooted, official 2.3 upgrade. Please help, yesterday happened two times and today only one time.

GT-P1000 suddenly switching off. Must be some sort of hardware battery controller problem. Had the same issue until yesterday. Openned the tab and disconnected battery as per youtube video. Connected it back after several minutes. Now problem is gone and tab is functioning perfectly.
Best regards from Russia.

That's a known problem with the totally unstable P1010. The only thing that helps temporarily is to completely reset the damned thing.
The best you can do is to return this crappy pad. The hardware is good the software is completely buggy and the Samsung support is completely clueless.
try button savior from market if you don't want to factory reset

Try this, be shure that you are using the default launcher, put the usb in KIES conection mode, connect to KIES on the PC, disconect from KIES and restar the device.
The home button should work after this. It seems to be a common problem in the P1010, a lot of people are reporting this problem, and I have suffered my self.
For a lot of people the Kies fix works, so try it before a factory reset.
After 4 weeks getting repaired I asked for my money back and got a 7510 much better thanks for the help guys

What is Force Restart?
When phones is not responding and hanged up, most of users pull battery out and start their phone up. This action cause serious damages to eMMC Chip. So, most of smartphone manufacturer include a key combination to do force restart in their product.
How:
Volume Down + Volume Up + Power for few sec.
My Test: On Icecoldsandwitch 7.2, Cyanogen 7.1 and Virtuous Quattro RC3 custom roms
You can also test on your phone; test it and replay your result with roms' names
I'm very interested to know how it works on Official rom
good to know - im one of the battery pulling majority and as a result the indent on the case where you put your nail in to prise the case off has become quite rough with the black plastic coming off!
wish i'd known this 14 months ago!

Playgound ICS, newest version. And it is a hard freeze. Even the charging light remains on, until battery literally runs out or gets removed. No button (soft or hardware) is responding to anything.
Tested on Virtuous Quattro RC3 , works successfully even in hanging

That's odd... you would think that during a hang when all digitized buttons and soft buttons were unresponsive that this would not work.

Yes, It will, let me give you an example, It's not perfect one but it's similar situation. when your computer does not respond, you hold the power button and computer turning off, or in laptops when your system is hanged up are you holding power button or pull your laptop's battery?
ofcourse we cannot compare smartphones with computer systems but what should you do if - for example - htc one s hanged up? (soft freeze) you can't pull battery out
so according to my tests, in soft freeze situation, you can force restart

When my phone is freezing I give it a blanket... if that doesn't work I throw it in the sauna.
Anyway, I've to pull the battery if it hangs since no buttons/keys are working.
No, it doesn't work to hold volume up/down+power.
Yea, I've tried. Like each time it happens just in case it might work once.
Can't think of any other answers I might get to answer

according to other froum users, Force Restart fully worked in UI hanging, the order is V down + V up + Power for 6 sec.

Sometimes this method does not work. Sometimes my phone freezes, and does not respond to anything. In these cases I recommend an adb reboot or something

Yeah, That is Hard Freeze, caused by memory dump, chipset shock, and etc. But in Soft Freeze, UI is not responding, application lock, games, and etc. this method works perfectly

read the title. It's the power button he's talking about, not the home button.
It doesn't depend on the ROM, it'll be like that even if you have no ROM installed.
I've changed for Pandoriam ROM and it's the same "problem". I've not see you was talking about the home button, it's the power button i'm talking about. Son anyone can make somethnig with a little flash for exemple?......

Changing the glass (not the digitizer). Just removed the previous glass and replaced it.
I haven´t disconnected any cables and stuff like that.
I did it sucessfully with a Galaxy S III by the way.

Sorry i have never done this. Id suppose to check the cables or reinstall the old glass....

Hello,
I've got a HTC One s-off with Inside Coin cfw and touch recovery.
Every now and then my phone shuts completely off without shutting down, its complete off.
If I press the power button it boots mostly correct but every now and then it shows the loading rom screen or just the HTC One screen and shuts off again.
Could this be an failure of the phone/battery itself from falling down or could it be a software problem?
Right now it doesn't even starts if I press down power for over 10 seconds - need to wait some time or put it on the loading cable.
Have you had that issue on other roms? Are you running a custom kernel?

I didn't tried other roms yet, no custom kernel so far.
Right now I don't get a light on the screen or the orange loading light on the loading cable.
Computer did find an Android device for short time but black screen on the phone.
You should test another Rom to see if your battery is faulty. But before you do... I need to know:
When you manage to boot completely, what does your battery meter or stats say?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I had 31% and I just wiped and installed the newest version of Inside Coin
While in titanium backup the phone shut off again and won't start right now.
I put it on the loading cable for the night and will see if I get it going tomorrow.
It could be the battery. If it happens that it goes from 100% to nothing within jus 20-30 min, then it is broken. Happened to me.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Okey just fully charged, plugging out, shutting off my alarm clock and browsing through sense - phone off.
Short push on power and right after HTC Inside it shuts off again, but with power button and Vol- I can get into recovery, Hboot 1.44 without anything happend.
/edit
What does it mean when back and home button are blinking?
You are doing a hard reset / force off the phone. If it means anything other than that I don't know.

I finally got my phone on again (after 6 hours) and battery says 80%
Should I try CM10.1/CM10.2 instead of Inside Coin and/or maybe another bootloader? My HBoot is still 1.44 and CWM 6.0.3.1
Any you like. Remember to check md5. If you wish u can upgrade hboot too.
