Signing in

no matter which account i use, and how many times i input my correct password, it does not sign in for windows live/messenger. it says that either my user name or password is wrong. I've synced it before, but i got rid of my account on it. After this, it stopped working. I even hard reset it
how would this be fixed ? ....

Change Gmail Password?

Generally I change my passwords annually, but I'm wondering how this would affect the sync on my phone. Does this automatically "update" on your phone; i.e. do I even need to change anything on my phone to keep the sync going (along with the paid apps).
I'm probably over-worried about it, but i would like to change my PW but would hate to have to wipe my phone to do it.
Has anyone changed their Gmail password since setting up an Android phone?

If you change your Gmail account password your phone will eventually popup with a sync error message. You'll then be prompted to enter your new password at this point to sync. So, a wipe is not required.

I have exactly the same issue. Amazingly, It looks like google didn't implemented a easy feature to this scenario.
For several forums I searched in, I only could find that if I wait an unspecific number of days, eventually!, it will pop up a window to insert a password! Completely unacceptable. I'm very frustrated with this.

You can't remove your primary google account.
But, if you change your password, within an hour it should popup asking for your new one. It's relatively easy; I've done it a half-dozen times.

If it's rooted then I think wipe cache or davlik resets account.

If you try to log back into the Android market, it asks you for the new password, and resets this across your phone.
I'm on HTC desire.

I had the same issue with the endless Captcha. There is a solution though.
Go to www .google .com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha on a PC or a web-browser and unlock the Captcha for your account. You will then be able to login again with username and password on your device.

[Q] I've lost the password+other questions ;_; please help me out!

I already checked out the other suggested thread but I have other questions so I thought I might start another thread...
I've lost the password, as said in the title, because I'd changed countries once and had to change my phone.
Now I'm back and have absolutly no idea as to what my password was........
But I'd always failed to synch my phone's contacts with outlook
so if I hard reset I will lose all my contacts, the messages and the photos.
1. Is there a way to hack my way through the password?
2. Or, is there a way to back up the contacts without having to hard reset?
If there is no other way, then..
3. I am absolutely sure I'd put in a password hint to help me remember, and I'd seen the hint appear the second last time I tried typing the password,
but this time I just can't seem to find the hints. How can I find it?

of which kind of password are you talking about?
Posibilities to Backup Contacts, Calendar,....
1. You can setup a exchange server for a gmail account, so you can sync your data with your google account, or microsoft exchange server
2. You can install MyPhone and synch witch your live account.

Oops I didn't specify the type of password.. my bad. sorry.
It's the password to the X1 that appears when I start up the phone!
Since I lost the password, there's nothing I can do right now,
no syncs, no nothing... and the contacts and such in it are really important to me.
Do the solutions you suggested still work if the password I lost is the one that unlocks the phone during the start up of the xperia X1?

do you mean the password of the sim card?
or the password you can activate in winmo for security reasons?
But i think you cannot find out the password.
if it is the sim password maybe my solutions could work. when you imported the contacts to phone.

My phone is locked. now it requires my email and password but i entered the correct email and password but it keep saying wrong username or password.

Install screen lock bypass free android app. However its not recover your lost password, pattern, pin. It only skip lock-screen, but you can assess anything on your phone, including settings. If you uninstall the app its again start lock screen.

Easy way to unlock Forgot Pattern lock on android device
Draw the pattern 5 times in any way.
After five times you will got a message "You have incorrectly drawn your unlock pattern 5 times. Please try again in 30 Seconds".
After 30 seconds, you can see another option named "Forgot pattern"
While pressing forgot pattern you can see a window asking your email address and password with which you registered your android device.
Give the email address and password there.
Now you can see the option to reset your pattern lock.

This only works if you have your google account configured on the phone.

Just reset it to factory defaults using recovery.
