Have you tried CF-Root, it flash CWM Recovery and give you Root, superuser, etc. You can download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158197&highlight=cf+root

No. It wont fail mostly.
If it fails(very less chance), you device will just be soft bricked.
You can always unbrick it with Odin easily!

Be sure that your phone is charged 90% or more and you are running 2.3.x and it won´t be any problem.
If it fails the only problem you can take is that the wifi and bluetooth stop working. Anyway if you are unsure of what you are doing read xda guides and tutorials first.

Hi guys!
I was Rooting my phone, and everything was okay with my first steps, I got a Superuser app in my phone and the most important thing it was working. After I was looking for my new Rom for my phone, I thought the CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0-GalaxyICS-UNOFFICIAL-beta8 one should be fine.
I downloaded the beta 8 version, after I installed to my phone. The installation was succesful. But after my Phone wont boot.. I got these messages:

Its best that you install your stock rom and be happy with it. And yes, if u don't know, don't ever use rom manager. Its just not meant for galaxy ace.
right I flashed most of roms but now i am back to my custom stock rom with cm7 UI and i woudn't change it
I have installed cwm on my friends phone (galaxy mini) via odin. When i booted into recovery it said he couldn't mount /cache/recovery. So i installed root explorer on his phone and i saw there are no files in that folder! In my phone there is a file... so i was wondering if someone has installed cwm (i believe it was 5.2.7) and knows how to solve this. Maybe i could try using this file of someone else with same recovery.
Long story short: does anybody know a solution or does anybody wants to upload this file?
Sorry for bad english if i made any mistakes

simple way is to download file and usb to phone, the zip file. Do Not unzip it.

Dont use CWM on stock if u dont want to flash rom
It will give problem
Well... first i had tried installed cwm using a normal .zip file. Same problem. Then was when i actually installed via odin. After that i gave up and asked for help here. So i think it isnt the fould of the recovery. So could anyone upload the file in the next location, just to try : /cache/recovery
So i can put the file inside this folder and maybe it will work again.

don't worry error in mounting cache is normal, you can use it safely for installing and wiping
However also in the my stock recovery give a error in the cache partition but to me give the error of unmounting, says unmount(/cache); attempt 1 unknow error=0 rc=0, and later i must and will inform about this error.

this is because actual recoveries are incompatible with ICS firmwares and will brick your device if you try to flash a recovery. you may try this mod to unlock the bootloader for getting a working recovery
