I have recently flashed stock rom GINGERBREAD.DDKQ8 (Android Version 2.3.6), now I am trying to root my mobile and I have tried all option but couldn't succeed;
I tried Galaxysrooter and it shows "error on update extract, is your sdcard working?"
i tried to flash upd_1.zip but it shows "installation aborted"
i tried SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse but it hangs after few minutes.
Please help me how I can root my galaxy ace 5830
PS: I have also tried to change my SD card from 16GB to 2GB.

Rooting 2.3.6 failed
I have the same problem too. Tried upd_1, AceGingerRoot, ROOT-S5830C-i-M, update_su, SuperOneClick 2.3.3. and no way to root my Phone.
I'm thinking about return to 2.3.5...
Are you trying to root through stock recovery? If not, try stock recovery
Solved!!
I have re-flashed DDKQ rom again and first thing I did 'root' and it was successfully

Hi guys!
I was Rooting my phone, and everything was okay with my first steps, I got a Superuser app in my phone and the most important thing it was working. After I was looking for my new Rom for my phone, I thought the CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0-GalaxyICS-UNOFFICIAL-beta8 one should be fine.
I downloaded the beta 8 version, after I installed to my phone. The installation was succesful. But after my Phone wont boot.. I got these messages:
- Appling Multi-CSC --
E:failed to mount /system
(Invalid Argument)
Anyone..Pls Help me !
Your phone is a S5830i?
If is, there is the problem

Your ace is 5830 right? And did you flash from stock recovery or from cwm? If you can get download mode then you will be able to reflash via Odin, find firmware on SamMobile.com
I did just this root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603273
I am a f*ckin' idiot I should read more before I am doing this thing..
And Right, my Ace is GT-5830 (without any i)
Err you need clockworkmod
AOKP 4 LYF
Install clockwork mod recovery with Odin and reflash rom using cwm.

Its best that you install your stock rom and be happy with it. And yes, if u don't know, don't ever use rom manager. Its just not meant for galaxy ace.

currently im using this version of droid
im bored of it so thought to install rom and first thought to root my device

No. It wont fail mostly.
If it fails(very less chance), you device will just be soft bricked.
You can always unbrick it with Odin easily!

Be sure that your phone is charged 90% or more and you are running 2.3.x and it won´t be any problem.
If it fails the only problem you can take is that the wifi and bluetooth stop working. Anyway if you are unsure of what you are doing read xda guides and tutorials first.

Maybe there are more versions, I don't know.
Yes, I might bee a NOOB but so be it.
And please give me a small "how to" lecture.

Transfer to SD > recoverymode > install from SD ???
Odin ?? (never used odin before)
Kies ?? (rather don't want to use Kies)
Or is there a other way to install Google Play?
Please some instructions.
I don't want to mess up my phone again...

Should this be te right procedure?
In CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.6.
install zip from sdcard
choose zip from sdcard
gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Yes - install gapps-gb-20110
If so then I have a problem. CWM tries to install but after 2 seconds it says:
E:can't open /sdcard/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
