Known issues:
1) You will get a Status 7 error when flashing. It should reboot and be fine. It is caused due to an updater-script for CM that we are using that has features AOKP does not utilize. It will be fixed in later builds.
Six does AOKP use the faster datadata partition or is it setup like CM10?

I was able to get past the status seven error by flashing glitch. Oh and by the way this from lags a lot. I don't know if it was just a bad flash or what

sixstringsg, mind if i ask how you did this? i followed ProTekk's tutorial at rootzwiki and it looked like there's only AOSP roms available for compiling right now (or as of saturday). did you just manually add the ICS vibrant files with the JB base? i'm very new to this, but find it fun to figure out and learn. i'd love any advice you might have. thanks!

if its anything like the CM10 roms, you may need to give it a little time to settle. laggyness will remain, but it does get better. i haven't tried yet (just downloaded), but you might also try a JB devil kernel. battery life is nothing to write home about, but it's pretty smooth and might work with this. no idea really...

They're working on a non-nightly JB Build #1, which is briefly mentioned here:

Im pretty sure you need to use JB gapps. Go to the link that sixstringsg posted (the androtransfer one) and at the top there should be a bunch of dev names. One should say gapps. Click gapps and it should list a whole bunch of different gapps for different android os's. Click the JB one.

Good to see you around here again Protekk. When I first started, I used your CM7 nightly builds exclusively. Sucked when you left.
WOW, This thing is BLAZING FAST! only problem so far is no mobile data toggle for pulldown in rom options

Nah, we're fine. Did a true wipe and reflashed and everything settled down just fine. Market downloads work. Before I could connect to the Market and browse, but downloads didn't actually start. And it looks like the model in the build.prop is "Incredible" where it should technically be "ADR6300" (I know it's set to ADR6300 for most other ROMs), but it's working fine, so I guess that point is moot.
Aside from the gallery being temperamental (using QuickPic at the moment) and not having panorama mode, this seems to be pretty damn solid. I love many of the features, such as having the weather displayed in various parts of the ROM. Is there anyway you can put it on the lockscreen as well? Or is there a quick edit I can do to put it there?

AOKP M6 REVERT
CM9
**CM9 has now integrated the mod in the latest nightlies and only a key edit is needed now**
With a root explorer, open /system/usr/keylayout/cypress-touchkey.kl and change SEARCH to APP_SWITCH the reboot.
You can also going into /system/usr/keylayout/cypress-touchkey.kl and edit APP_SWITCH to SEARCH to restore search button.
Disclaimer: These may or may not work with ROM's based on CM9 or AOKP. If you try, prepare the revert with android.policy.jar pulled from your ROM zip framework.
CM9 nightlies are subject to change, which may cause incompatibilities. I will try to update weekly, but please post if it doesn't work for a specific nightly and I will try to update ASAP.
Does not work with ICS Slim right now.

Yeah apparently their frameworks differ too much to work.
Revert only replaces with unmodded. aokp policy.jar so same problem since not compatible.

Otherwise might have to use Slim repo to get it to work.

Look man. I have been porting and posting nightlies like crazy. I'm sorry if I missed the thread. It happens... No point in harping on it. I have left a note for the dev and if he is going to continue supporting this device then I am deleting this thread. And the one that is built from source... Is a PORT! I used source too... to PORT this rom.
Thanks

That's really a matter of definition. I define a port as downloading a rom and mix-n-match crap till it boots and (maybe fully) works. Been there, done that. Ours, while unofficial (cause AOKP ain't accepting new devices from what I've read), is built from source and done so in a transparent manner -- all our sources are online and anyone can see and modify accordingly. I'm not a programmer/developer and do it that way so no one can accuse me of stealing, etc; and I always make sure to give credit where credit is due and I don't take the credit for others hard work -- the one thing most kangers don't do...
Just because we're unofficial doesn't mean we're a port. Porting is what you do when you're either too lazy to learn a bit of linux & git, you like MIUI, or you device has no developers and you're only option IS to port.
I also look at kangers like I do hackers. Summer good, summer bad. The bad kangers act like they did everything on their own, don't give credit, don't thank the teams or even try to contribute to the community other than by releasing someone else's work as their own....some people just have no sense of ethics. People with bad ethics is why "kang" has become dirty word in some places now.

I found your port aliitle smoother then the official unofficial release. Will you be continuing development? I'm sorry you got such a poor welcoming with your rom. I believe if your contributing you shouldn't be flamed for doing so as none of the roms are official here from my understanding.

He wasn't being flamed. People only literally said that there was a AOKP thread already. I didn't see any flaming
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
man the harsh tude is part of reason i dont wanna ever be developer on this site all the flaming when all someone does is try to pitch in and make it that much better. Im gonna check out your rom next day ill let you know if i find any bugs.
the reason for slow updates in my thread lately is as follows:
CAR WRECK, TOTALLED CAR, WIFE HURT.
****TY INTERNET, CANT EVEN UPLOAD THE LATEST BUILD.
I am finally getting the latest build upped as we speak
If you want to continue work on this, go right on ahead. But we are building ours from source, so....

No problem, once I build them for my xt907, its a peace of cake to port them to the mb886.

That +100. Once the initial rom is done, alls necessary is do the same exact things for the other phones.
To Eveyrone
If some of ya'll had any idea how easy it is to do we'd have a lot more roms available. For most roms, all ya gotta do is add in the Dev Team's CM repos, maybe tweak a few makefiles in device or device-common (just reference the SGS3), go to vendor/whatever, copy the SGS3 files and reword them for us, add us to the vendor/whatever lunch script....that's it. That's how almost all of us are doing the custom roms. I suggest the SGS3 because it has the same board as us (msm8960) and you want to reference a device as close to us as possible. What's cool is the X is supposed to have the msm8960 as well as being the same resolution as us....X better ship with a 4.3+ kernel that Hashcode, Epinter, Dhacker, and the gang can use.
Cool.. Any screenshots of this ROM? People who have flashed how is the battery life?? Thanks a lot for the ROM dude..

Hey guys, as of recently it has been tough to keep up with posting "OP Updated" whenever I update a ROM since I have quite a few ROMs I'm supporting on 3 different forums. So from now on, it is gonna be up to you to check the link in the OP for updates. I will be updating all ROMs regularly... So check back often. Thanks guys and ENJOY!

Probably this one or aokp. Used to be aokp no question... But slim has won my heart recently... Been running it for a week. Longest I have run a rom in ages.
I'm having some trouble getting Gapps to run on this ROM. I'm using the 7.8 version, and the Gapps from Slimroms for version 7.x. In particular, the Play Store keeps saying that there's no connection, even when there is - I can use the browser.
Any suggestions?

Omni is a great new ROM that actually has it's own section of xda fora. http://forum.xda-developers.com/omni
It had a big announcement at BABBQ and the Portal later covered it. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/from-the-bbq-omnirom/
Is this sense or aosp?

AOSP. I'll add that to top post.

Edit...just attempted to flash and it failed right away. Downloading again to see if it was just a bad download. Can someone else please provide feedback

Up until just moments ago, that did happen; however, there is a new build which should fix that issue. It was the updater_script failing due to a script missing. That has since been fixed, and it should flash now with no issue at all.
is this supposed to be CM's replacement? lol

No. Omni views all third-party firmware as a part of the same community and is not meant to be a replacement, simply another member of the greater ROM community.

Yes, as with all source-built AOSP ROMs, this will require flashing the 4.3 Gapps.

Actually, I do as well; that's why I won't be able to run this for 1/2 the week probably. Also, since I use Ting it complains about the network and stuff.
