Hello to all, i'm new from optimus 2x,i got my 2x 1week ago,any suggestion for best custom rom for my p990 less bug the stable.. i want to try one.. thanks in advance..
here TEMASEK ROM best rom i've ever used very stable and fast can stand up to 100hrs or even more for kernel ETANA KERNEL but for me stock is the best if you want ics rom here i can suggestPARANOIDANDROID
welcome to optimus 2x world
Cm7 by temask....
First of all, a good indicator is to sort the threads by "views". You will see that temaseks ROM is the one with the most clicks i.e. the most popular of all ROMs. From that you can deduce that it should be one of the best.
To come to your question: After trying temaseks ROM, I would recommend you to also check Django Manouche. It is highly customisable and it will give you the possibility to imitate ICS AOSP look without having to give up camera functionality that real ICS ROMs are missing.
I would also recommend Django Manouche. And with supersonic kernel.

hey mangekyo saringan
if you want stable, temasek's CM7 build is great one for you
but if you decide to level up to ICS, I'd recommend Domination CM9 by owain94. It has lot of tweaks and costumization options!!
I'd stick to harsh kernel, but that depends on everone's own need!
Read my thread.
Maybe it will help you

.
I think you have to define 'best'.
Longer battery charge? performance? stability? higher CPU settings?
Various kernels posted in this site are for various purposes - one or a combination of points mentioned above.
In my opinion the horsepower 2x kernel is the best for gr5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295486. But I think that cm7 is much faster than gr5 even with the horsepower kernel . My personal rom/kernel choice would be cm7 nightly 204 with ironkrnl http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1359307 . Hope this helps
i think the OP mention about the stock rom, not CM. if GR5 then your option with HP RC9 and PP v8.
Hello!
As someone else already wrote - define "best custom kernel".
Talking about oc/uv for stock rom I would say horsepower – especially since it is afaik the only oc/uv-kernel for stock based roms that is still supported/developed.
But if you ask me what is the best ROM/kernel compo – I would say CM7 latest nightly/KANG (i.e. Rustys) and ironkrnL (links already mentioned above).

that's up to you
it depends on what do you prefer. you have to try some roms. For me is important how offen the developer updates his rom, if it is stable and handy and easy to update. After trying dozen of roms and som kernels my favourite is Slim ICS in combination with Sempahore Kernel 1.2.0.s with hugemem option (399Mb RAM)
Slim ICS is highly optimizable, really fast and with semaphore you get some cherries like voodoo sound option, other governors, schedulers etc..
If i compare it to some GB stock roms, where you have 320 Mb ram or something like that, i have to laugh :

I have flashed quite a few roms (Elite, EXTRAordinary, AOKP, etc.). One of the best that I have experienced is INFINITUM LBR 1.1.1. This rom is smooth, good battery, rom control, OTA updates and plenty of available ram. You will not regret flashing this rom

Slim ICS, CM9 nightly and Dark Knight (and so Elite too)
The best around Dark Knight v5.5 da fast & stable
After probing diferent ICS roms, the best for mi is MIUI.4-SpeeD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1548796
Every single ROM is good. My fav is ICSSGS with Devil kernel. I tried Slim ICS and tiny bugs and glitches let it down. Also, in slim ics I had some SIM problemsand the icons are tiny. CM9 is a battery eater.
Hello everyone! Pls am new here just rooted my phone today. Pls can anyvone recommend the best ics rom for me? Thanks

There's no working camera on any ics yet. So it might not be what you want until maybe a few days or more (no ETA)...
Best ics rom is aokp or ultrasound
Sent from my Phone with ultrasound
Try Zeus 6.39 ROM...then u don't want to try any ICS
first of all, newbie. with an e.
second, if you want to have ICS, you can choose: AOKP, Ultrasound or CM9 (base of Ultrasound). Ultrasound has some smaller modifications.
as you can see in the specific forum, ICS for OB isn't that far developed yet (camera is not working for example). But the devs do their best.
if you want to install a very stable gingerbread, I think Zeus 6.XX or 7 is the best option. There is a CM7 Kang by boype as well, but in my opinion it has many freezes and screens of death (sod).
So it's yours to choose one.
i think it's the best way to copy as many roms as you can on your sd-card and just try!
best regards
Hello,
I am totally new here on XDA. I recently rooted my OB and wants to install stable custom rom. I searched a lot but cant decide with which one I have to go. Please give me some advice.

In the world, Zeus 6.39 ROM is most stable ...even developers had agreed that...no doubt
Of course, Zeus v7 is also available, but 6.39n is best battery backup, stable, and fast ..
CM10 and Korean official are available now, but not stable.
All the best..
Press THANKS button if helped
Thanks... downloading Zeus v6.39..
Please inform me if any stable ICS or JB release in the future.

Don't use the Nightly CM10 for the P970.
Reboots 15 times / day without a reason.
I test the AOPK Jellybean tonight. Hope it's stable.
Tell me after you test it.

Oh yes its v6.4.. I typed wrong key. What you say about v6.4 and v7?
One more thing, I am using v6.39n but when I reboot my phone or if delete any file or folder of the SD card its taking too much time to prepare Memory Card.
What's the problem?

how's zeus 6.39
hi
i'm also new here. I want to know if you're happy with zeus 6.39. does it support arabic or farsi?
one other noob question. In order to install it first I have to install V6.3 and then I have to flash Z6.39 via CWM. Am I right?

Yes I am happy with this Zeus Rom. I am currently using v6.39n. Very smooth, very fast and battery backup is awesome.I found no bug except Memory card preparing problem which I already told here.
I think it doesn't support Arabic by default. But there is an addon/extras file which you can flash via CWM to get Arabic language. Here is the link..
http://huexxxtuff.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/zeus-rom-links.html?m=1 ..
There are two zip files of this Rom.
V6.3n and 6.39n update
First You have to flash Zeus v6.3n and then Zeus 6.39n update file through the CWM. Before flash do a factory reset, wipe dalvik cache etc etc.....
Press Thanks if I help you.

No, I am on AOKP JB (4.1.2) and is bad. I have to remove battery thrice a day to restart it (missing hardware reset button like PC :laugh battery drainage is bad, it takes time as GMT only (not IST). But looks and feel of JB is good

zeus v6.4 i good rom and marvel v9 is also good GB rom. it will support your language, but if you type your language from right to left, it wont support the alignment. it will show everything correct on screen, but when you will type a message or a note, it will start from left side.
all the GB based roms that i tried and in the past month, i think i tried at least 6 roms in total. none of the GB based roms had RTL support. if the Right To Left alignment support really important to you, i suggest you try Zeus IZS or Marvel v11, the RTL is built in ICS so it works flawless.
good day
Slim Bean 4.1.2
I would say, all stock based roms are the most stable. cm10 based ones are about 85%, but this also depends on the used kernel. it's up to you to find the best combo for your usage
* From my funky phone
There is no such thing as the best, most stable ROM or kernel.
Everyone is looking for something different, so such discussions are pointless.

Have no idea why you want to go back to the gb
Whatever, temasek ROM were always packed with stability and features and just the cm with cherry picks
Stefan ROM was more stockish with cm features.gave more battery life according to users.
I can tell you that you should see the number of users and posts.....tema was and is such a magic weaver
Difficult to choose mate.....try both of them
Tema's last version and stefan's 3.8 i think
I am sure you will need the dual boot
Enjoy...i know i have made your choosing more difficult now....lol
