Okay so I found my old Revo about a week and a half ago, I have it overclocked and running fast, only downside is that I have to keep it charging 24/7. Since nowadays I have my one xl, I'm looking for a use for my Revo. Here's my plan, I used to have a Motorola atrix 4G and the Lapdock that comes with it but the phone got destroyed and so I have a Lapdock in its box just taking up space. What I want to do is hook up my Revo to it and use my Revo as an android net book of sorts. I know that an xperia s works perfectly with the Lapdock because it has a micro hdmi and micro usb port not just a mhl port. So here's my question. If I hooked up my Revo to the Lapdock and got it mirroring my revos screen, could I change the dpi so that I could have a net book like experience? I would probly never use the Revo without the Lapdock so it doesn't matter if things are too small on the revos screen, also what would I change the dpi to?
What lapdock do you have?

Hi there,
I am so happy that I imported the Droid 3 to use it here in Germany. Everything worked and works fine. From my Milestone 2 I was used to have a Charging Dock that additionally could charge a second battery at the same time.

Could you probably help me, finding such a Docking Station (it doesn't have to be a dual charging dock) for the Droid 3 that I can use with our german powerplug standards?
THANKS
WHOA thats awesome!
I skipped the D2 but I'm definitely interested in something like that too since I have a spare battery. I looked around but don't see anything like it tho
Not sure about a docking station.. But I'm using the USB chargers that were included with my old BlackBerrys.. Still hasn't let me down, two Motorola USB chargers have failed on me so far.. (Guess the connector would become loose)

Pretty cheap too.
The Droid 3's dock uses a standard Micro USB input I think, so the normal Droid 3 Dock should work (I think):

VEEEERY nice! Thank you! I just ordered the dual charging dock, hopefully it will arrive safely in Germany
Thanks for your help
HEY ALL
Just found this on eBay and thought I would share it with all of you. The seller has a few more left and at 50 bucks with free shipping it is an awesome deal.
Pooh can't post links yet but here is the item number 110815036565, enjoy!
Just noticed that the seller is down to 1 left. I cannot wait to get mine and see how it works out.
what is that

i got mine from the verizon store with employer discount for a bit more than 50, but at that price its definitely a good deal assuming you get your HDMI cable cheap. i ended up getting the bionic lapdock as well due to necessity but USB host without having to rig up your own solution is nice..
however.. i've never been able to get the IR remote to function. i've read it only works in certain apps maybe? anyone have any thoughts on that, maybe even using it through the car dock somehow?
I got it last week and have messed with some and love it. The remote works great for me now, I forgot to remove plastic off of battery... LOL It didn't come with the hdmi cable but I had one already. The webtop is ok, can be a bit slow at times but if you are in a jam and need a "PC" it does just do it.
I love streaming Netflix with my phone docked since it's charger is able to keep the phone charged while using LTE. My stock charger doesn't keep up and my phone slowly discharges especially if I have hdmi hooked up. Oh, forgot I also have the OEM extended battery installed too.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is hooking up my external hard drive up to one of the USB ports and see if I can play my movies on it.
Well I just picked up a galaxy 8.9" 4g. It feels like half the weight of my wife's lte ipad. Plus it cost less than half what her ipad cost. -paid $525 for hers (used) and $220 for mine (used)
I realize the charging issue has been discussed - but here's my question: (yes I searched) If I were to connect the tablet to 2 usb ports on my laptop would it be able to charge? I have an external dvd writer that uses something like that.
here's an example of the cable I'm talking about... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JIOHDE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Another random question - is CM10 noticeably smoother than Dannorom 2?
charge
To solve the charge issue get a cable off ebay that you can switch between data and charge. The cable is very cheap like 5 bucks or so.
I used this adapter and it works perfect

Ordered one. Thanks!
Just wanted to let anyone know that the Custom Audio and usb cable accessory works for the Droid Razr M with the vehicle dock, it does not work when plugged directly into the phone.

The audio on the Droid Bionic dock does not function if it is modded to hold the razr m (removal of HDMI and moving USB micro.)

Thanks, Cody! Just deciding whether to spend $30 to buy one just to try whether it will work in my car. Now know for sure it won't be garbage.
30 dollars sure is a lot of money for damn cable... lol
I'd just run two cables and save the money for more awesome accesories
I realize since its 4.0+ it should, but I haven't heard anything concrete one way or the other.

I think ICS has the support, but the connection will be an issue. Impedance due to the cable size will likely create minimum power threshold issues.
Is there a shorter cable, or other connector option? This ties into my review concern of the proprietary connector.
Yea, I was thinking about that connector as well. I could use bluetooth I suppose, but I've found that things just seem to work better for me when I can plug it in.
I do have a micro to standard usb cable. Now that I think about it, I should try that with my fire hd.
My wife is giving me crap about wanting the hd+ after I saw the mothers day sale on it, she says the old nook color is still working fine...
