Setting Up CM7.2 Stable - LG Optimus Black

Hi everybody¡¡¡
I'am new. A few days ago I installed CM7.2. the stable version and it looks pretty good (at least for me).
So I ask you (XDA-Developers community): What's the Optimal Performance Setup for my OB?
I mean: CPU settings, ......., and if you can explain a little bit about why.
Thanks.

Governor: Interactive or InteractiveX.
Disable Scrolling cache.
Set VM Heap size to 48.
The rest I leave it to default.

I'd recommend to install boype's kernel or heuxxx's, also i'm not sure about last nighties but the 7.2 stable wasn't that stable

Can you explain me, What's the diference?
I download this rom but I decided not to do it because it's not official.
And I notice that it has mistakes that the stable version hasn't ("audio routing and GPS") I didn't find this problems.
Once in a while my phone black out and I have to remove the battery but anything else.
So please, explain.

Way more, I'd actually used CM 7.2 stable and would go to full boype's in a heartbeat, if you don't want to go all the way though just get the kernel

I have best experience with last Boype KANG with SmartassV2 ...

The installation of the stable I prefer the original kernel with the following configs and tweaks;
- Configs
- Disable Scrooling Cache
- VM Heap 48M
- build.prop tweaks
# Photo and video recording quality tweak
ro.media.dec.jpeg.memcap=8000000
ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.bps=8000000
# Raise JPG quality to 100%
ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100
# Save battery
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=180
pm.sleep_mode=1
ro.ril.disable.power.collapse=0
ro.sf.lcd_density=240
ro.sf.hw_lcd_density=240

Thanks so much for cookin this up, smells good!

Did you have issues with this kernel? BFS really should be better suited for phones where a smooth UI is important.

Downloading and trying now. Thank you
---------- Post added at 03:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 PM ----------
The 7500 version is messed up. It boots but the rainbow colours that sometime can show themselves at bootup acctually show themselves when its booted. Its impossible to see anything, the whole screen is covered by these coloured lines. But the tab is booted, it responds to screen timeout and when i press power button the screen goes black and it turns on when i press it. so it boots but something is messed up with graphics. Please check and i try the update for you.

Thanks for trying. I'm not sure what the problem is. I'll take the links down.
Reflashing an other (working) kernel should solve the problem for you.
It's weird because the graphics part should be the same for all. I really have no idea where the problem is.
I don't think it's because of overclocking
... enough kernel developing for today.
Sorry for asking, but did you use the right base for 7500 version? Its easy to mix up stuff. maybe it was built on 7510 base or non TW base. anyway good try

right now the difference is:

(more to come )
and no, pershoot doesn't have gpu overclock.

I don't think so. only the 3D rendering part is overclocked. but you may give it a try, maybe I'm wrong
I'll wait till somebody tries the wifi only/touchwiz version
Thanks for giving the gpu overclocking a go so quickly.
Wifi touchwiz does not work... Yet. It gives the same static.
BTW, anyone know a good graphics benchmark for honeycomb? Neocore doesn't work.
non-touchwiz seems to be working so far...gonna keep testing.
Ive been playing Order&Chaos on the tab and would love me some GPU oc.
I'm on TW tho, but tempted to flash non just to try it out. Either way, much appreciated. -
so far so good, everything seems to be running well.

[KERNEL][AOSP] LorD ClockaN (lordmodUEv8.5-CFS-VIVO-2.0)

The new kernel by LorD ClockaN for AOSP(cyanogen and MIUI) roms is here.
http://www.multiupload.com/YQTRBBDO3B
http://www.4shared.com/zip/VC9M-tPU/lordmodUEv85-CFS-VIVO-20.html
This is 8.6b3 of his DHD kernel for vivo.
Please try it and post reviews which will help him to further work on incredible s kernels.
A big thanks to LorD ClockaN for his great kernels.
Governors explained: (Thanks to LorD ClockaN )
*interactive - Instead of sampling the cpu at a specified rate, the governor will scale the cpu frequency up when coming out of idle.When the cpu comes out of idle, a timer is configured to fire within 1-2 ticks. If the cpu is 100% busy from exiting idle to when the timer fires then we assume the cpu is underpowered and ramp to MAX speed.
*smartass - Is an improved version of interactive governor.
*ondemand – Available in most kernels, and the default governor in most kernels. When the CPU load reaches a certain point (see “up threshold” in Advanced Settings), ondemand will rapidly scale the CPU up to meet demand, then gradually scale the CPU down when it isn't needed.
*conservative – Available in some kernels. It is similar to the ondemand governor, but will scale the CPU up more gradually to better fit demand. Conservative provides a less responsive experience than ondemand, but can save battery.
*performance – Available in most kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the “max” set value at all times. This is a bit more efficient than simply setting “max” and “min” to the same value and using ondemand because the system will not waste resources scanning for CPU load.
*powersave – Available in some kernels. It will keep the CPU running at the “min” set value at all times.
*userspace – A method for controlling the CPU speed that isn't currently used by SetCPU. For best results, do not use the userspace governor.
*brazilianwax - Very agresive version of smartass.
*interactiveX - Tweaked Interactive governor by Imoseyon by adding more features like suspend/wake profile.
*ondemandX - Tweaked and ported from 2.6.38 base Ondemand governor by Imoseyon by adding more features like suspend/wake profile.

Welcome to the Nexus S community.
I`ve used your kernel for a couple of hours now. Like the other folks, I miss also BLN, and also Voodoo sound/colors.
Besides, the only downside till now has was the laggy 3D performance in games. I thought that it was only the game, but tested 3d in Quadrant Advance, and it was still the case.
Overall, your Kernel is snappy and stable-no random reboots till now. I`ll be waiting impatiently for your next release

I`ll be waiting impatiently for your next release

using root explorer, go to /system/lib/egl/ and delete the libGLES_android.so file. reboot, then try quadrant again. any difference?

only Lthermal(not yet released) will not work with smartthermalx, however, you can use Lplug with smartthermalx
Current AndroPlus Kernel doesn't load core_ctl module
define "buggy" ?

trying out smarttemperaturex right now, will be giving this a shot as well on Z5c
Now I am at Lplug and Lthermal with Zach's 2.53_II.1_3 Kernel at with Big Cores @1,9ghz and Little at 1.5ghz. Governer is alucard and sio scheduler. Battery life is amazing now and the Phone is cooler than ever. Best setting for me now after many weeks of try&error. Great Work!

Actually, you can try OC, this thermal engine is built to handle it.

We have to place Lplug into /system/etc/init.d
And set permissions to 0755. But i don't understand what we neeed to do with Lthermal. What is TBC ?

I can only tell you that it throttles at 57° for the first time. You'll use the maximum power till 57° and stating out that when emmc_therm sensor is at 57° CPU is shown by apps at 61-62° ( you can see on your own, compare emmc_therm temperature on CPU-Z and the CPU temp on Kernel Auditor) you'll basically "burn" your device so you'll never get a worse battery than this. If sony starts throttling at 47.7° there must be a reason, getting the value higher of 2-3° degrees is fine, but 10°..... Is a bit crazy
Edit: I used Rytek's thermal for 15 days before starting working on my own. My battery went on 47,8° while playing games, and this happens a lot of times as with that light throttling, temperature is always crazy. Actually my battery became a little bit worse like 30-40mins sot less I can see percentage drops down faster, so i can also tell you that this kind of thermal can also damage your battery ( this happened to me maybe ) And a deep research ( Google it if you don't believe me) told me that lithium battery suffers of temperature a lot, even 30° isn't fine. So 46-47°... It's an overkill.
