Is s5570i compatible with ICS firmware? because i heard many positive feedbacks but ICS will be only installed when you use custom rom.
i went to cp shop to get my phone repair because its hard bricked and they said it will be fix using jtag and their offering free installation of ICS, so im wondering is it official ics firmware or custom rom with ics.
i hope someone will answer to my question right away because the technician said "return here tomorrow and you're s5570i is alive again and tell me if you want ICS or the stock firmware of your phone."
If there a ICS firmware , accept and share ICS

U should give it a try maybe u will.get ics
Oh oh I am sorry bur u can ask is this rom stable or no

You need to be on Gingerbread first before you can flash your phone with an ICS ROM. The following web site gives an easy step by step tutorial plus download links to get ICS on your SGS.
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/android-4-0-4-rom-galaxy-s/
Ray.
or get 2.3.x updated from kies , than root it and then do cyan9 , its best. worked like charm. just read the instructions and follow it.
Kies says am upto date with latest software can i get gingerbread without kies?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
You can update your device till 2.3.6.
Unfortunatelly I only have a german page with the explanation.
Actual firmware you find here for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570488
I think in this thread the users could help you.
Yes, using the Odin. Look here:
w*w*w.theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-s-gets-android-4-0-based-aokp-rom/
For install ICS, you need first install a GB 2.3.6 rooted, look here :
w*w*w.theandroidsoul.com/xxjvu/
end enjoy.
Atencion, take very carefull in this journey. Read all with very carefull.
Sorry for my poor english.
BEWARE: You are coming from Froyo - so you have to flash an android version that includes a socalled "bootloader" (some versions don't include that, as far as I know).
Reed carefully first before flashing.
Thanks guys I did it through Odin now on 4.0 whoooooo lol

I was running liquid smooth ROM (jellybean version) and tryed to make it stock again.
I installed stock rom (ICS) and wanted to factory reset and wipe, but the wipe/factory reset took so long ( over 30 minutes ) so i pulled out the battery, now when i start my note it says: ''Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again''.
I can go to download mode but when i try to install the stock rom (ICS) then it installs till 75%+- and then it freezes.
Can anybody help me ?
can't put on phone normally. Can go into download but not into CMW.
Please help! thanks in advance!
(ATM i am downloading stock rom Gingerbread )
I guess as u have wiped on stock ics kernel u have encountered a brick. does the flash with odin gets stick at factory. img?
if so then try with the gb rom. If that too fails at the same plz then u mite need to repartition

Can't extract the GBROM file
i did download the GB ROM file but when i try to extract it ( by winrar ) it says: enter a pasword for the encripted file
But can't find any password on the thread.
Does anyone know how to extract by not using the code or were i can download the version withouwd the code ? or were i can get the code ?
Thanks in advance!!!
Normally the download site will has a note on pass word if that is required. In case you cannot find it, then should download from The rom thread from dr.ketan. no password needed.
Still, it looks like you have a more serious problem and may need repartition. Let,s try to flash a gb rom first.

This is the answere to Warrenty, let's make this clear
I was bricked and only was able to go into download mode, so not CWM or recovery.
When i tryed to flash ICS or GB it stopt at factory.img.
I did flash the Angelom kernel 1.2 to get the Custom binary download to 0. ( for warrenty)
After that i flashed stock GB ROM ( as far as i could, still stopping at 80%)
Now i will claim my warrenty and hopefully i will get my phone repaired back.
Thanks everyone!

By the way you can use dr.ketan method to root your gb 2.3.5 and use mobile odin to flash safe kernel such as speedmod or notecore.
Then you can boot into recovery and flash your favourite jb rom.
Read op installation method clearfully.

Now the sammobile has xxlsa firware you can flash even without root using odin. Then use philz kernel for xxlsa to root

Normally you can find the installation method from 1st of 2nd post from every custom rom.
Why dont you go sammobile.com and download the complete LSA leaked thru pc odin under download mode?
Then you might avoid a lot of installation method which to be care which rom you from.
You should know how to flash stock rom thru pc odin right?

Thank you all mate... I just wanted to know that i can flash 2.3.5 directly to JB
1. I have the International version of GT-N7000
2. All official until I manually updated to XXLSA JB 4.1.2 using Odin (I cant wait for official to come via OTA thats why)
3. Now I cant use Kies as it says it dont recognize it (you know what i mean)
4. I dont care about kies enyway.
My question is, can I,
1. Let say remove this XXLSA ROM and go back to Stock (i think its ICS or something)
2. Then I will try to update it via OTA again. where in I'll be getting the Official JB then.
3 I just want to go back all official ROM again thats it.

YES, if you flash back to stock ICS, you will get official OTA again. You can also visit sammobile.com and download and flash stock JB 4.1.2 which is now available for almost every region. This will put u on stock rom and do not root if you want to get OTA update.
If I helped you please press "Thanks", and if you helped I will do the same

Actually, you can root your phone and still receive OTA updates, as long as you don't flash a custom kernel/recovery.

Hello guys,
I use Galaxy Note-N7000 and the issue with my device is ever since I upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2,my device has slowed down,I am now starting to think its because of Note unable to handle Jelly Bean.I even tried factory resetting and re-installing Jelly bean a couple of times, but it hasnt helped.I also see RAM consumption being very high with only a few apps on my device.
What could be slowing down my device?I was told Kernels speed up our devices, will it work?If so can you guys recommend me any good kernels and steps to install them?
I would really appreciate any help, guys. Please be kind

Flashing through Odin shouldn't need root, just USB debugging enabled. I have never flashed anything via goo manager, but if You will get the flashable file You will be able to flash it then. And it will change the cwm.
To download kernels just go to android development section for our service and search the forum for "kernel" in the topic. Our You can also Google "kernel n7000"
