Try erasing data for gmail in task manager. It worked for me.
Inviato dal mio GT-I9000
unfortunately it did not help
Try to delete it from a root explorer in system/app/gmail.apk
And extract it from your ICSSGS RC4.2's .zip. And then copy it in system/app/
With these permissions : RW - R - R

Can I do it? I thought that Gapps pack can be only flash for CNA.
Don't really know about it. But did you try re-flashing the ROM ? It will probably solve your problem. (wipe all)
Did you try gapps fix?
And yes, u can flash it

No I did not. I'm going to re-flash tonight (when I come back home and after my 5-years old son will sleep - no possible to do anything before that )
Should I make all wipes? Factory, cache and DALVIK? I'm aksing becouse one time when flash ICS (that was CNA) I did all wipes (with DALVIK) and I had bootloops and big problem to do anything, even Odin did not help. luckily after few trials (switch off/on, remove battery, remove ext SD, remove SIM etc) Odin recognized my Phone and I flashed stock GB.
I think DALVIK was a reson, but maybe I'm wrong

No problem
Yes, do the following steps to be sure :
Wpe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe Dalvick cache
Format system/
You souldn't have bootloop
I re-flashed. Now Gmail app works great. I did not have to flash Gapps or Gapps fix.
Thanks for help
Good news ! Have fun with your ICS Rom
Hi everybody,
I tried yesterday to flash my phone with the new mini CM9 + nAa 04 kernel... It did not work resulting in a soft brick.
I solved this problem by flashing back to the stock rom + kernel using flashtool. My device is now working as before.
After many unfruitful research on the forum, i'm forced to ask you what wrong did I do...
My phone was (and is) configured as follow :
Kernel : stock 2.6.2.9
Rom : Android 2.1
Base Band Version : M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Built : 2.1.1.C.0.0
Rooted
Bootloader : unlocked
Today I installed xRecovery (which is not needed if I use the Kernel E15_nAa-ics-04_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-04).
Is it problematic if I want to use the mini CM9 rom ?
How did I do :
I started by flashing the kernel using flashtool and with the latest version kernel E15_nAa-ics-04_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-04.
The manipulation was successful and kernel was working well.
Then, after having backed up all my settings, apps, contacts, rom and wiped off the data factory settings, I started to flash the rom with CWM (the rom had been stored before on my SD card).
Once the installation finished, the phone reboot... and reboot .... and reboot, etc...
It was only able to display the nAa kernel screen (boot loop), but nothing more.
Finally, I flashed it back to stock version to use it again... OUff
I was a bit scared by the idea of having a hard brick but finally it was just a soft brick.
What do you think about my experience ? I know many of you think that people who do not have necessary skills to do it should not do it ^^ but I want to learn and to make my phone a bit more flexible and fast.
Thank you in advance !

Your hardware and software seems alright to me.
Steps: Don't bother about xRecovery. From stock 2.1...
Root again
Flash nAa-ics kernel
Install MiniCM9 and Gapps from first post of MiniCM9 thread
FULL WIPE -- YOU MUST DO THIS
WIPE DALVIK-CACHE TOO
Reboot and have fun

Hi,
Thanks for your replies.
So I don't understand what was wrong as I completely wiped the system prior to flash the Rom.
I proceeded exactly like that :
1.Wipe data factory
2.Wipe cache
3.Wipe dalvik-cache
4.Format system
5.Format cache
6.Format data
7.Rom installation
8.Flash Gapps
I think I have done all the necessary steps to make it working ...
I was maybe not enough patient after installation ?
I'm going to try again today (now I know how to recover from a soft brick ).
Thank you all again.

Same problem... when i try to install it again I get an error and it says my device is 16i insted of 15i ...
Then I had to flash different rom 3 times to get it working...
Didn't wipe cashe and it worked : )
first instal minicm 3.0.4
after that install minicm 3.0.5(or any nightlie) without any wiping!.
I used the Spetember 17's version initially and am very pleased with it. Overall, a very good ROM. However, out came the latest update (update) and I started having problems with the ROM after flashing it. At the very beginning, after I started to flash the add-ons, my Ace will occasionally stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Ace part during boot and remains like that even after 15 minutes. So, I pulled out the battery and reboot but the same thing happened. I tried reflashing the ROM again but this time, I did not flash any of the add-ons. Sadly, after 2 reboots, it stuch at the same place again... Advice from pros please? :'( I really like this ROM

Any advice please?

As for the FCs.. I guess I'll have to keep reflashing till I get it right :'(
Hey, Snow. I did a reflash, follow by flashing these add-ons: SIII Toggles, Nexus Boot Sound and Enable Crt-OFF. After that I didn't install Link2SD straight install other apps and surprisingly, my Ace shows no sign of FCs(Except when screen capture) or stuck at boot. So far everything's fine Did a couple of reboots still no problem. Once again hopefully it stays that way^^

hi Great SnowPluralism, your ROM look awesome!!!!
i am going to flash my SGA using your ROM, before that, i had few question to clarify on before and after flash.
i am from Asia - Malaysia, currently using Asia Stock ROM S5830DXKPB with CWM.
few question here,
1) do i need to flash it to 2.3.6 XWKTM before flash your ROM ?
2) since your ROM is base on a Euro ROM, will it cause any problem to use in Asia region, e.g. 3G, GPS, call ..... ?
3) do i need to format my sd card to ext4 before flash your rom? if yes, i got a 8G SD card, format whole SD or partition some of it ?
4) internal memory is a big issue for SGA, with your room, all app will auto install in SD card ?or any step to move it to SD card?
5) i had DioPen keyboard (to type chinese) in Asia Stock ROM. i know this keyboard not include in most(maybe all) Euro ROM, can we add in manually ?
6) any tool to backup my data before flash your ROM ? i need to backup at least my sms and contact in my phone and restore back after flash your ROM.
thanks SnowPluralism to build up this ROM, hope you can kill my worries by answer my question, and make your ROM better and better!!
problem fixed..my mistakes..DO NOT INSTALL LINK2SD.......
your ROM awesome!!!
Snow, I tried flashing the ScreenCaptureFix zip file provided by Cryss in the main post but my Screen Capture still FC. Any idea?
Nevermind thatXD Found a way to get Screen Capture working. Instead of flashing the zip file. I extracted the .apk inside, send it to my Ace and paste it inside system/app. Change the permission and after a reboot. Walaaa

Hi there,
today i tried to install omar-rom. Booted into CWM-Recovery - data wipe/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik-cache, mount and format /system. After that i installed the zip and rebooted the device.
And here is my problem, it won't boot properly, first time it boots into system, i see the app optimizing tab and immediately first reboot, after that it reboots while the motologo is shown or while the intel logo is shown... this goes over and over.
Two weeks ago i tried omar-rom, there was no problem. In the last two weaks i used original firmware with infini-ROM, infini-ROM still works when i use my untouched backup with these mods - omar rom doesn't. Tried Omar-Rom from 06.19 and 06.20, same result.
Anybody had similar problems, anybody can help?
PS: Sry 4 my bad english, im not a native speaker.

Exactly the same! It goes up to intel logo, then blacks out, sometimes i see optimizing tab, and bootloop.
Then we 2 are doing something wrong - I tried to explain exactly what I did, hope someone know what I did wrong.
But i feel like a retard, so many people use Omar-Rom without problems...

So, you say we use fastboot to return to stock fw and then install the rom as normal, or over pillama?
Flashed stock via RSD-lite, tryed to install omar-ROM with CWM after that - same result, bootloop.
Rryed everything possible now, nothing works - am I stupid or is there a problem with the last versions of omar-ROM?
I'll try flashing it over another firmware, it worked on retail br for me once
EDIT: Bootloop again, got up to optimizing apps and then reboot... This is so weird

Indeed, but what?
Make sure you have a custom recovery installed.
Download the *.zip file to your SD.
Boot into your custom recovery of choice.
<Optional when upgrading same ROM> Data wipe will be required if you came from another ROM, even stock EU.
Select install zip from external card, and choose the zip file.
Hit Reboot.

Hey guys,
I was running CM 10.1.3 and decided to go to Slim Bean 2.1. I followed the instructions, but when I rebooted instead of a clean install, I had all my old apps. Naturally, I went back to recovery and wiped everything again including sdcard and flashed Slim again (from external sd card). However, when I rebooted, again I had everything - old apps, music, photos... As you might imagine after this dirty flash the phone is quite laggy. Please tell me how to make recovery properly wipe the old data.
Any help is appreciated

What recovery are you running? I am going to assume CWM v6.0.3.1...
From main menu;-
Wipe Data/factory rest
Wipe cache partition
From Mounts and Storage menu;-
Format /system
Format /cache
Format /data
Format /sd-card
From Advanced manue;-
Wipe dalvik cache
Now install.
You assume correctly. I had already done that, but I did it again in the order that you described. No difference, I still get all my app, my wallpaper, and all my accounts are still logged on. That is strange. Is there another way to wipe the phone?

Yes, it's very strange. I have done that before, but never with such results. I think I might have to resort to a kdz flash of stock rom, but I'll wait a bit to see if someone comes up with a solution. Nevertheless, I will have to find a solution, because after the last several dirty flashes one on top of the other the phone does not work as it should. It is very laggy and with an even higher battery drain (which was the initial reason for a clean install).

I have to admit that I would look at doing a KDZ reflash to get everything back clean, then CWM and reinstall of the ROM.

too late now to go back to format and reinstall rom. just go in data/app delete everything in there. also in data/dalvic-cache. then if u know from system apps which ones u dont want , go delete them and then find their dalvic-cache in /cache/dalvic-cache.
then go delete from sdcard the folder android. then from sdcard delete every zero and empty folder. last one delete all data/data and reboot. nothing should be left from previous rom. now if u have more leftovers in data/media/obb or data/media/legacy, delete. (dont delete the legacy in storage/emulated...!). about the problem u had. did u choose wipe and selected manually to wipe all those or u chose to format all data ? there must be a choice to format everything. ( dont do it now it will delete everything ). if that doesnt work then fix permissions.
Somehow after several attempts it worked and wiped everything. I am not sure, however, if it works consistently.

I will certainly do that, but I have never used flashtool so far (kdz flasher, as well for that matter), So I just do not have the time to experiment right now, just in case if anything goes wrong. But I will certainly want to try a stock rom again.

I would try that, but in the clockworkmod site 6.0.3.1 is listed as the most recent version for our device.

too late now to go back to format and reinstall rom. just go in data/app delete everything in there. also in data/dalvic-cache. then if u know from system apps which ones u dont want , go delete them and then find their dalvic-cache in /cache/dalvic-cache.
then go delete from sdcard the folder android. then from sdcard delete every zero and empty folder. last one delete all data/data and reboot. nothing should be left from previous rom. now if u have more leftovers in data/media/obb or data/media/legacy, delete. (dont delete the legacy in storage/emulated...!). about the problem u had. did u choose wipe and selected manually to wipe all those or u chose to format all data ? there must be a choice to format everything. ( dont do it now it will delete everything ). if that doesnt work then fix permissions.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I will hold off from using it for now, but if recovery misbehaves again I will use it.

How is Any Kernel related to the version of CWM Recovery? Otherwise, I am using the Anykernel version of OP 2.7.
