EasyTether on HTC Vogue

I recently installed Wyn's Warm Donut rom of Android on my HTC's NAND memory, and it is working good except that I can't get it to tether over USB.
I've tried EasyTether and TetherBot, and neither seem to work. EasyTether tells me that it can find the device, but can't establish a connection (USB debugging is on), while the ADB program for tetherbot can't even find my device.
Any tips on fixing this?

I'd been using PdaNet.
I had it working, but it has been finicky. Lately I haven't gotten it to acknowledge the phone is connected.
I never had luck with EasyTether. I'm running WarmDonut v3. Haven't upgraded to v4 yet. I got slow speeds before upgrading my kernel (to the latest post 3/26), after upgrading PdaNet worked much faster. However, like I said, it didn't always work.
I found it helped to use the ADB driver floating around here (which is 1.0.0.5 I think), rather than the one that comes with EasyTether (1.0.0.9). It seemed to recognize the phone more.

I tried pdanet, and it installed, but after connecting, it immediately disconnects, and I get the following error:
Abnormal Disconnect:Read header returned error (code=31)

Also, how can I check and see what version of the rom I have? I might try upgrading, but I'm unsure whether I have the latest kernel/version though.

i think easytether is pretty nice. i never have problems with it. you installed the pc thing that comes with it too right?

Yep. Followed all the instructions to the letter. Still didn't seem to work.

Find a copy of Dual SD Mount (search for com.protocol.x.USB.v1.6.6).
Install this widget, turn it on and you will have no more tethering problems.

Oddly enough, I can't find this on the market on my phone.

Exactly.
I do the same thing.
Once I activate the widget I get the message "SD Split Activated" and all connectivity to my PC works perfectly.

automount should do the same thing. and its free. open the app after you install it and check the box to enable it. Only downfall to this app is storage card is not available on your phone while your plugged into computer. Dual mount lets you.

i tried dual mount once and i wasnt able to go into my sdcard. and yes i clicked the widget (x1000)

I managed to find a copy of this and installed it. Works great now! Thanks for the tip.

Wow now i feel stupid >.<
On topic: What driver do you use for your phone, whenever i tried to use my phone on my pc adb wouldn't work but i finally got my SD card to mount repeatedly so i'm not fond of screwing with it

i have no clue. i just plugged it in and it said installing device drivers

I just started using this... holy hell it drops so much... seems like anytime I do any of the following it drops:
A) access SD card drive from my PC
B) access data on phone
C) leave idle for more than 1/2 minutes

are you using dualmount or automount?

[Q] Fuuuu... No USB notification/mount option when connecting to PC

Stock Captivate, Rooted with one-click.
Stock kernel, modem, ROM (2.1)
I no longer get the "USB connected" notification when I connect with USB cable. I get the sound, it acknowledges that it connected, but no USB notification =( It still charges though.
It worked yesterday, today it doesn't - nothing changed PC-wise.
HELP!!

[Q] Can't connect to my wifi! on my nexus 6. PLEASE HELP

I think it may have something to do with my router settings, but it could very well be my phone too. all help is appreciated. Running cm12 for shamu latest build.
CORRECTION TO TITLE: CAN'T GET INTERNET WHEN CONNECTED TO MY WIFI ON MY NEXUS 6. PLEASE HELP

First thing is to pull the power out of the router for 30 seconds or more. Even if other devices can connect fine, this should always be then first step.

. thanks for reply. i have tried this, have even resetet the whole router but still wont get internet. :crying::crying:

Yes it connects but im not connected to the internet. in the notification bar it is a exclamation mark on top of wifi icon. Oh yes it is maybe worth to mension that i run cm12 Shamu latest build.

Can you install a terminal emulator and kind other things in your network / Google etc?

Apparently Lollipop is having issues with AEP encryption for wireless networks, so I changed mine to WPA2/TKIP and WiFi is back in business.

USB File Transfer to PC

How can I set file transfer as the default mode for USB connection to my PC? As it is, I must find and tap on the USB charging notification and select file transfer each time I connect to my PC.

It has been a while my friend. I went stock unrooted for far too long and neglected xda. Got me a new pissel tho and I'm back. Nice to see some familiar faces still here ?

display is black after fall - how can I backup?

hi
my phone fell down yesterday
the screen has cracks and the display is black
the touch is still working but I cant see what I'm pressing
is there a way for me to backup my data (images, contacts etc.)?

You need to link up to your PC.
Blind navigation is very difficult but not impossible. Hopefully you already have it set to link up to your PC.
Get some screen shots of your model doing the steps you need to do and use them to help navigate the blackness.
Always redundantly backup critical data...

If you can't do that already... I sincerely doubt you can recover the data.
A data recovery service may be able to.

I think you fail to understand the extent of your issues. That's a plural too...
Try hooking it up to the PC. The Android will probably have a pop up asking you if you wish to connect. You need to punch that.
-If- it shows on the PC you're good to go...

do I did and fired adb but it says the device is unauthorized...
Since I cant really see the screen - I cant enable usb debugging
I cant see if my android is popping up a message as the display is all back (as the title of the thread say)

You need to guess the popups position. Keep doing it until it connects.
Use a online screenshot of that model with that popup as a template and guesstimate.
