So I just got my new Xperia T today, and I've charged it for about an hour and a half and it won't turn on. All it gives me is a flashing red light sometimes, but not always. Any ideas?
EDIT: just checked the manual and it says when the device is charging it should give a little orange light by the notification LED. I don't get this light showing at all.

Just tried and didn't work
It's not showing the orange light, which makes me think it's not charging at all. And yep, I've tried three plugs, all of which charge my Transformer Prime fine

is this a brand new phone? Have you just took it out of the box? Is this the first time you have tried to turn it on?

It was from a CeX shop, but it was literally brand new, never been turned on before that; they had to turn it on to test it, so I assume it's worked before.
So I'm pretty sure it's not charging; the red light occasionally flashes when I press the power button (not always though), but the orange light isn't showing up. I've tested the cable, plug and socket with my Kindle and it charges just fine.

Not a sex shop...CeX stands for Computer Entertainment Exchange http://uk.webuy.com/
Yep, I'll go back tomorrow or Monday and get another phone or get my money back. Appears to be something wrong with the charging port or the battery. I have 12 months warranty on the phone from CeX, so I'm safe.

Might phone Sony up on Monday and just see if they have solutions. If they offer to replace I'll say I'll go to the shop I bought it at (CeX) and get my money back. Would rather wait for the Nexus 4 than get it replaced.
Fair enough. Just wondering why you changed your mind though to get the nexus? Curious to see what an unbiased person thinks (I'm hoping you're unbiased lol)

I was always going to get the Nexus, but now this phone isn't working , I'd rather just wait for the Nexus. It's easier really.
Sad, because I love Sony (had every PlayStation and planning to get a Bravia) and was really looking forward to giving this a go

If CeX have another Xperia T I might. I don't know, I'll see.
My first One worked perfectly for 2 months. Then it got stolen. On the 3rd of august I bought a new one and it got replaced three times because one had a huge scratch on the screen ( I unboxed it right there at the store so the employee directly gave me another one) and the second shut down randomly! How can something like this happen?
So I got my third(!) HTC One today. I unpacked it and it just doesn't turn on. I thought maybe the battery is low (even though that should not be the case because li-po batteries should be stored at about half charge ) But even after charging it for an hour where it does only blink with the red LED it does not turn on.
Any ideas or should I just go back to the market and directly demand a replacement.
And I really can't trust the One anymore... It's hands down the most beatiful phone with awesome specs. But what if I can't make that call in a dangerous situation because HTC has no QC?

Hold down power and volume down buttons while holding the proximity sensor directly under a bright light (sounds strange but it works!). This will reboot to the bootloader, them reboot from there.

The bright light triggers the proximity sensor, kind of tells it the phone is not in your pocket and it will let it turn on.

Should not have damaged the battery, no, lithium polymer battery should be fine. Good luck
I've had 3 One's aswell, and none of them had any software/hardware problems. I replaced them because of cosmetic issues. Sadly for me, I bought the Developer Edition and replacement of these is done through the worst company ever LetsTalk. In order to expedite the process, I had to do a "cross shipment" where I would pay the value of two phones and have a phone sent by them without returning mine first. Had to do two cross shipments because 2nd phone also had cosmetic problems and instead of them refunding me back two cross shipment values of 1299 each, they just refunded me two phone values... had to get my bank involved to get my money back.
Wow. Just wow. Maybe I was just lucky that my Desire HD was perfect. Funny thing is: How can HTC expect me to pay for a phone on August 3rd but til today I do not have the product for which I payed. This is ridiculous. I'm going on vacation on Wednesday and I can't take my phone for which I payed 18 days before because it's in repair for 2 - 3 weeks. Great... I always recommended HTC to my friends because of my Desire HD but I think everybody should skip the One. The chance of getting one that is looking okay and working is really not that high as it seems. For me it's a 1 out of 4. Get your QC done, HTC.

What they said: 'Oh damn, another one'
Seriously HTC?
My new one has the worst screen of all my Ones til now, but it does power on. Also there are some huge gaps between the speaker grills and the plastic band. No problem for me though, and they won't give me another replacement. So I'll have to live with it. Installing ARHD now, thread can be closed.
Right, I may or may not be alone in this but the rattle from my power button was really starting to p**s me off. I could hear it clearly when the phone was at arms length and I tapped the screen anywhere in the top half. I thought it was the camera at first, then found holding the power button still whilst using the phone stopped it. This morning I was using my phone and decided to do something about it.
First can I say this was not any normal rattle (i.e camera lens), you could clearly hear it at arms length whilst tapping the screen in the top half. I made this video because people have told me they have the same issue. If you take your phone apart and break it, that's not my fault.
For those that have this problem and decide to do this, I hope it helps It has made me a hell of a lot happier with the phone.

Ah, forgot to mentiom, this is my 2nd one. Bought my first one and heard the rattle, took it back after 2 hours. The replacement does the same thing and looking on here in the defects thread it seems a few people have the problem. There's no sort of warranty seal inside the phone and the stuff can easily be taken out again should it die for some reason and I need to get a new one under warranty.

Some people analyse small insignificant things too much, surely it couldn't have made an audible noise level outside of a sound proof box.
Did the sales person look at you bemused or did he test the rattle and end up deafened by it?

He agreed that he could hear the rattle. It may not have seemed that important to him in a loud and busy shop, but when you're sat on your sofa in the evening and even the slightest of taps near the top of the screen make it rattle it doesn't take long before it becomes very annoying. If it were just when I shook the phone near my ear or something then I would have just accepted it, but it's the fact it is hard to ignore, even at arms length, made me want to do something about it.

You have wrong priorities op! I lived with a tn-powered xperia arc s for 2 years. N5 is like heaven for me. Why did you buy a N5 if you have a one? If you are pleased with your one keep it and don´t buy anything new.

what's the point in this thread? you're unhappy with your device, and want everybody else to be unhappy as well, by pointing out a flaw you see?
Have fun with a phone that is completely inferior besides the speakers lol

Either you photoshopped the picture or you got yourself a defective device.

My nexus 5 will very probably be returned. Hate the loudspeaker, and I think I have been spoilt by the Note 2 battery. But that screen doesn't look right. Under no circumstances can I get it to look anywhere near that bad, and I have tried. The screen is one of the few things I will miss about the phone.
