Hi guys,
What do you think is the problem of my touchscreen? There is something like a black thing on the center of my touch and when you start using it there is yellow lining on the side of the black thing? Please help me thank you.

Your digitizer has got a problem. Probably the phone is dropped or pressed hard with a heavy object..
Not sure though.

My incs has that very slightly. It doesn't effect the usage though no? I don't think much can be done apart from replacing parts, I wouldn't worry unless it gets annoying

Hello everyone
I've had my incredible s for about 9 months now
All of a sudden, my power/unlock button has lost its clickiness.
I have to really press it hard, and it just mushes in, without any feedback.
Its lost its responsiveness too
My question is, has anyone got this problem as well? I didn't drop it or anything.
do I need to take it back to be repaired?
Thanks in advance!

Mine has been like that since new.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
Mine used to click, now it just mushes.
So yours has always mushed, even with the back cover off?
I'm thinking about taking it back to my carrier store and see what they can do about it.

Did you ever find out about it. I'm thinking of contacting HTC about it and see if they will fix it. Its really annoying I can only turn my phone on when I hold it in my right hand as no other way works.

I noticed this happen within a couple of months of usage with my IncS. Didn't bother me much so I did not fuss about it.
Send it to HTC, they will fix for you. My friend has done this.
Cheers...
Im a bit worried that they will look at it, it still works just not as well, and think I am being too fussy. I think it is getting better though, any worse and I will take it back.
Virtuous Affinity now has volume unlock so I use that now
Thanks for the responses guys

I will wait until I dont need my phone everyday and then will send it to be fixed. They don't give you a replacement do they?
This issue must be a design flaw as we all have the same problem.

You are using affinity, use the built in virtuous tweak to unlock with volume rocker. That might keep your power button working longer.
I recently bought a phone (3 months ago..), a IncS..., I didnt know these problem with the power botton, what a problem...
Me power botton works fine in these time, but now I will began to get some monney for change all the phone

I found that too, but now it's lost all its click and just mushes
@incrediblealex have you got it back yet? And, did you send it to your carrier or straight to HTC?
And it shouldn't matter if they update it, you can always downgrade with a goldcard.
I think that Inc S has a design flaw when it comes to the power button (just like the USB port) and I think this is affecting most of the Inc S phones out there. The thing is, very few people bother complaining about the degraded functionality of the button, as it still does the job pretty well.
My Inc S's power button lost the clickiness within 1 month from purchase...It still works, but not the way it used to.
In my opinion, if you send it back to HTC Service Centre, they will fix it, but it will brake again as they probably use the same part/component to fix/replace the mechanism.
My advice would be to sell the phone, if that power button really bothers you.
Whenever I take a picture, the end result will always be a little blurry and have yellow tinting towards the left side of the picture. To some extent, the life side even has an entire bar going across it. What can I do with my problem?

I would be highly surprised if it would not. Especially if your phone is still newish. Just say no user error could ever cause this.

Depends, my carrier swaps out defective units for a new one right away if it's 2 months old or less. Otherwise it gets send away for repair.
I'd steer the conversation towards a new one in any case...
Buddy had same issue took it back got a knew one never asked a question had it for only like a week tho
Alright so when your provider decides to replace the phone for warranty, will you have to wait a few days for the new phone or will they give you a new one on that same time?
Right, I may or may not be alone in this but the rattle from my power button was really starting to p**s me off. I could hear it clearly when the phone was at arms length and I tapped the screen anywhere in the top half. I thought it was the camera at first, then found holding the power button still whilst using the phone stopped it. This morning I was using my phone and decided to do something about it.
First can I say this was not any normal rattle (i.e camera lens), you could clearly hear it at arms length whilst tapping the screen in the top half. I made this video because people have told me they have the same issue. If you take your phone apart and break it, that's not my fault.
For those that have this problem and decide to do this, I hope it helps It has made me a hell of a lot happier with the phone.

Ah, forgot to mentiom, this is my 2nd one. Bought my first one and heard the rattle, took it back after 2 hours. The replacement does the same thing and looking on here in the defects thread it seems a few people have the problem. There's no sort of warranty seal inside the phone and the stuff can easily be taken out again should it die for some reason and I need to get a new one under warranty.

Some people analyse small insignificant things too much, surely it couldn't have made an audible noise level outside of a sound proof box.
Did the sales person look at you bemused or did he test the rattle and end up deafened by it?

He agreed that he could hear the rattle. It may not have seemed that important to him in a loud and busy shop, but when you're sat on your sofa in the evening and even the slightest of taps near the top of the screen make it rattle it doesn't take long before it becomes very annoying. If it were just when I shook the phone near my ear or something then I would have just accepted it, but it's the fact it is hard to ignore, even at arms length, made me want to do something about it.

Pressing on a certain spot of the screen (about 1/3 of the way from the top) makes an audible click and I can kind of feel it under my thumb too. I've had the phone for less than a week and it seems to work fine otherwise. I'll bring it into the Sony store on Monday to see what they say.
What could it be? Does this happen to anyone else? Do you think it's worth getting fixed?

How did you find out about this problem? Did you read about it somewhere and decided to try pressing your screen as well?
I'm pretty sure you'd never have found out about it during normal usage. Or did you randomly think to yourself "hey, I should really press my new phone's screen unusually hard and see if it make any noises" ?

I posted a thread about it a couple of days ago but should have mentionned it here as well that my phone wouldn't turn on after sleeping with it. I was checking for damage and I noticed this and assumed it was related. Though looking back, I'm pretty sure it was an unrelated software malfunction (kernel panic?), mainly because the battery kept draining during that time. It was at 60% when it was seemingly bricked (wouldn't even react to being plugged into multiple chargers and computers). then 24 hours later it magically let itself get charged, but for some reason was completely discharged at 0%. Everything worked normally from then on.

Seems like they all do this sound
I purchased my Z3 yesterday and I also noticed this weird sound while I was putting the case on. So today I went back to the store to see if it was just mine.
I tested 4 different Z3 with the dude a the sony store and they all seem to be doing the same sound at the same spot. However i still got mine replaced for one that seemed a little better than the others.
So yeah it looks like it's normal...
Guess what? I found the same issue somehow couple of weeks back and thought it was weird. I wasnt trying to test anything specifically and just clicking on phone for something at that time and heard the noise. So I did some more checks and saw it happening on the top half of the screen only.
Mind does the same thing. I bought it yesterday and noticed it this morning...hopefully it isn't something that I need to return it for.

They all do it, z3 and z3 compact. I tested 4 different z3 and 2 z3 compact at the sony store when I went to get an exchange for mine.
I took one which seemed a little less worst, but still do it.
I'm probably gonna buy a tempered glass, it might help lessen the default.

I think you should contact Google's customer assistant for it. As far as I know Google provide a Free Replacement of the device within a year except any physical damage. I might wrong but nothing harms to give it a try And best of luck in replacing your device
Correct except they will replace for any reason in first year, including water or physical damage.
Thanks for the replys guys,i already got in touch with them and they made the ticket and everything but i am pretty much screwed anyway cause they put a temporary hold on funds in my account for the new device they send me until they receive the defective one.And i dont have the moneybfor it right now so preety much a wasted rma ticket.i will try and see if they let me send them the defective one first and then they send me the new one,so the whole funds freezing can be avoided.I hope they allow it.
