I received a Verizon "CLND" I've had issues with it charging. Not with battery drain or charge time(when it does charge). Occasionally when I plug my d4 in, to charge I receive no response from the battery icon nor on the lock screen. Other times I plug it in it charges just fine. Things I've tried: wipe cache partition via recovery menu, factory reset via settings>privacy>factory reset>erase internal memory, factory reset via recovery menu then wipe cache partition, safe mode, charge while off, different USB, different outlet, different adapter (part that plug into the wall that you plug the USB into), charge at work, charge via Xbox,PC, and car charger. All micro USB's, adapters and car charger is legit Motorola products adapter and USB are factory products received with purchase of d4 and RAZR. I did notice when the device is off the moment I plug the USB into the phone the notification led flashes green once (thinking of the beep codes on a PC). I am unsure as to what might be causing this issue I would love to get this resolved without having another "CLND ", flashing fastboot files, or sending it in for repairs. I am on a stock GB no root. Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this and sorry for any poor grammar typos or misspelled words.

I have a major problem with my Tilt, when it is off and I plug it in, the phone will not charge and instead just boots up into Windows Mobile. While turned on, the phone will not charge; nothing happens when I plug in the USB cable.
The USB connector *looks* OK, no obviously bent pins or damage compared side by side to other HTC phones, but I'm not an expert with a microscope.
Is this a lost cause or are there things I can try to get the device to charge?
i'm not sure my observations will help you but i noticed the following behavior ONCE...i was too lazy to re-test and confirm my theory, but here goes:
1. if the phone was improperly shut down, the phone would turn on and start booting as soon as i would plug in my wall charger (NON HTC, its a generic Motorola charger). in my case, my device charges fine once the boot up has cleared the boot splash screen.
2. using the usb cable plugged into my pc, the phone would NOT turn on when i would plug in the usb cable. i MIGHT have shut down the phone properly prior to trying this but my memory isn't keeping up with me right now
i guess what i'm trying to say is that i THINK the device is built to turn on the moment a charging source is available, that is if it was improperly shut down.
Thanks for that tip...my Tilt is now plugged in via USB and will charge whether or not it is on or off. I still have to try it with the regular AC adapter, but at least it's not dead!
Edit: Everything is good to go Thx for the tip
Hello there,
Its a but weird but hey this is something very normal for the 2x I think. When I plug in the phone to the pc, this will identify the phone and all that, but it will not charge. I have tried different USB slot and other PCs but nothing happens. On Power the phone will charge as normal. I have also down a calibration of the battery..
Anyone?
I just had the same thing happen to me. I'm glad I read about your wall charger suggestion . Then I read about another person who pulled their battery out and long pressed the power button to clear any risidual charge, I did that and when I turned back on it had gone from 1% to 5%. This was after useing 'battery calibrator' which deletes that file. I also have battery monitor widget and wonder if it conflicts, I think I entered a random number when it asked me the wall chargers ampage. Who knows it charges from computer again. My mother had a problem similar on her nokia, she let the charge get to low and they had to 'shock' the battery into life.
- actually if you have the mode where the screen stays on then the phone might just consume all the power.
-nope, seems wall charger is super fast and computer is slow, maybe usb just doesnt have as many amps
check your usb cable, cheap china cable have problem with charging
I got another cable, GOLD!, and did more testing, its a slow charge on computer and charge goes down when playing counter-strike. Charge goes up on wall socket when playing CS. The charger says it puts out 1A and im sure that more than what my laptop USB puts out, maybe I'll try it with my desktop.. debug mode did nothing to change the effects.
My HTC One had a full discharge a couple days ago. When I got home to plug it in, it showed a blinking red LED and the battery charging animation, but didn't charge at all over a full day. I tried rebooting while still plugged in to the wall charger, which took me to the OS. From the OS I could do anything -- text, call, use Chrome, etc -- but the battery symbol had an exclamation point and the LED was still blinking red. As soon as I took it off the charger, it turned off.
I have tried Power + Volume Down, Power + Volume Up + Volume Down, and the bright light methods.
I was able to restore the phone to a previous backup from TWRP while plugged in, but the problem continues.
Any suggestions?

Try connecting the phone to your computer's USB port. If it charges there, then your charger is bad. You can check to see if is charging by going to Settings -> Power on the phone. If you are using the cable from your charger to connect to the computer and it isn't charging then try another cable. It that works, it may just be the cable that is bad and the rest of the charger is OK.

I have tried multiple cables, including the HTC stock cable and charger. When I plugged the phone into my computer, it did not show the blinking red LED and did not power up. The phone was basically unresponsive. I assume this is from lower amperage from the laptop's USB ports, but could be wrong. The laptop was also plugged into its charger at the time.

The battery is severely discharged. Since, it will not charge via the charger or the computer it looks to be a phone hardware issue. You probably need to take it back to your dealer for servicing. Before you do that, give the connection to the laptop one more go except leave it on the for about an hour or two undisturbed. When batteries are severely discharged, it takes a while for it to recharge enough to give any indication of life.
I ended up sending the phone to HTC. I had modified the kernel and OS, but figured it was worth a shot since the phone was dead and it was still under warranty.
They told me it was out of warranty due to liquid damage. I have no idea how it may have been liquid damaged, but oh well. I wasn't going to pay the $200 to replace the motherboard so I asked them to send the phone back to me.
I received the phone last week and plugged it in. I wanted to make sure I could repeat the symptoms and that HTC hadn't further messed up the phone before I took it to a local repair shop. But what happened when I plugged it in? It came to life and began charging as normal. Either a generous HTC tech fixed my phone for free or the phone needed some interior jostling to get circuits back to normal.
Whatever the situation, my phone has been good as new with all the data just as I left it. For a full week, I've had no problems charging.
i got an xt1058 that dont charge like it should only some time, charge port looks new (internally), i have tried multiple battery's, ive cleared cache, i have a motorola charger but not factory moto x charger, when i plug in to pc the lighting bolt in bat comes on but in battery it says (not charging), while powered off and plunged in to wall charger it continuously boots to charging screen and says its charging, this has been an ongoing issue but now its almost unusable, this is just an issue i cant resolve by searching xda and google, i have reached the end of my line and need your help.
i have not tried factory reset or clean flash
any input is greatly appreciated.
I have my Desire 510 plugged into a wall outlet and I keep getting the message "Unable to charge your phone because it is using too much power. To fix this problem, reduce power consumption by turning off your phone, closing any apps you aren't using or turning off the screen"....I am rooted, have TWRP installed and a custom ROM. (Raptor ROM v1 since v2 link asks for a decryption code)...I have turned on Power Saver, Mobile data and bluetooth are disabled. The phone is losing battery power even while plugged in. I have tried 3 different chargers and outlets
EDIT: Went back to Stock ROM and its STILL having charging problems....

I've had this problem and it stopped when I took a plug from a Verizon phone and used it. It's the plug where you cannot remove the wire and plug it into a PC or another charger, but as long as you save yours, you should be ok. NO other plug would work!

I have it plugged into a wall charger and its still giving issues (power brick with non-removeable USB cable)...i've had this phone for about 30 hours and been plugged in the whole time (minus the time it took to swap out USB cables and outlets) and it's not even gotten a full charge....i'm just gonna buy another phone.
EDIT: Just ordered a Motorla E (2015) to replace Desire 510....this phone will be thrown in a drawer
