RE: How to customize my phone to this extent...
Hello,
Before I begin, yes, I understand that I am new and that this is my first forum posting, please, do not judge myself.
---------------
Anyway, I'm a new to the whole customization scene. I stumbled across a website named 'mycolorscreen', some of the designs that our human race creates are simply beautiful... but, there is a flaw... a big flaw on my part, I have no-idea how to re-create any of them. I've been told it's simple... but I just cannot get my head around.
I am going to be as blunt as humanly possible when I say, how do I make this exact design for my device;
mycolorscreen.com/2012/08/10/wow-fantastic-baby/
I've been searching for the past hour on how-to-do-so, I now have a severe headache.
I'm sorry if there's a tutorial that has been posted already, but again, I am new here, so you'll have to bare with me.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.
Also, I do apologize if I have posted this in the in-correct forum.
Regards - Sgt

it tells you the apps that he or she used just have to track down the widgets

Without checking, looking at those screens it looks like they may have used a 10x6 grid size, you would set this along with hiding the status bar and dock bar in apex launcher settings, and use gestures to show them if required, you may also need to play around with the margins as well.
Using desktop visualizer you would be adding 2x2, 3x3 & 4x4 widgets...
That's it basically, you may have alignment issues if your screen resolution is a lot different to that used for the icons...but I haven't used dv for quite a while so I don't know if it's changed from how it used to be.

Just had a quick play with it...
As you can see on my phone, with no status bar and dock the layout is ok...when the status bar is shown it throws the alignment out and same with the dock. I'm not sure how they've done it with the lower part of the screen sorry, maybe someone else can help you with that or the original poster!
Don't forget, if you use someone's work thank them for it

Hi,
I'm the developer of the MessagesWidget and all designers I had told me they would do a layout and disappeared.
If you could do a layout, I would be proud to include it in the next version.
What I need is a 4x2 layout and a 4x1 layout.
If you're interested I could send you my contact informations and we could talk through GTalk or ICQ.
Thanks.

I'm doing this to keep Android rocking with a better overall experience, so I'm just asking you guys to keep writing killer apps.
If you're interested, just post:
1) App's primary function
2) Images to be replaced (or screenshot w/ relevant image sizes)
3) Idea of the look you're going for, if any.

Hi, just found this thread,
My app is currently in the latter stages of development and I'm looking for some inspiration when it comes the front end.
1) aDyno (a beta ver is on the market for you to dnload & play with), its a car performance app, measures & logs speed/hp/gforces etc.
2) If you glance through the app screens, a lot are simple list views which I'm OK with, but the presentation may need reviewing. The main views that need 'some work' are:
. The main timer view (pic1), I need to overhaul the whole thing from scratch.
. The graphs view (pic2), something prettier.
. And the g-meter/g-pad views (pic3 & 4), again, my first efforts are pretty poor (though the code used in pic4 is far from complete).
3) What I'm looking for? Nothing too OTT but I'm open to suggestions.
Looking forward to hearing what kind of ideas you have, or if this is of interest to you.

BLS Drug Profiles

Hey, I was bored so I figured I would code this app and throw it on the Android marketplace. It as all of the BLS Drug Profiles based off the Arizona Department of Health.
Before I throw it onto the market I figured I would ask what you guys think of the GUI. Do you guys like the way it looks? Or should I change it, what do you think I should do to make it better? Also keep in mind this is my first app.

Looks interesting. What I can see looks pretty good but you should post the apk so we can install and really check it out for ya.
This is a sorely needed app!
Thanks.
I wouldn't use blue for the text color though.
In bright lights or outdoors, that is gonna be very difficult to read.
Since this app could possibly be needed in an emergency situation, it's vital for everything to be able to be seen without any fuss or confusion.
Make it high contrast ... white text on black.
As for the overall ui, it's perfectly fine other than that. This isn't an app where asthestics are important. It's not something people will be glaring at for hours on end. It's utilitarian, it's reference. And keeping it simple is exactly what's needed.
One thing I might add at some point is a link to Wikipedia if there is one (at least I don't see it from the screenshots). Or if the material you're using for reference has other online references available to the general public, that's fine too. Especially something with links to pictures to help identify pills/capsules etc. That's just an idea.
Great job.
And if you're needing a beta tester, please let me know.
Thanks.

Ok, I will experiment with the color of the text I suppose. I can also ad a link to the Arizona Health Department Bureau of EMS. I also have a disclaimer to add, and it should be ready
Sorry for the double post, just wanted to let everyone know that I posted this on the market

micon:: Icons for Android

With the launch of Launcher7 (a Windows Phone 7 style launcher), I began making some icons to put on my homescreen. I decided to put the icons on the net and make them available for everyone.

Head over to micon.prismapixel.com to check them out. More to come.
Love the contribution and I dont mean to criticize but they could definitely use some work for sure! I happen to make icons all the time and they need work put some more time into them good luck fellow icon designer! To much of flat standard box icon use some beveling maybe or a glow effect or something original.

I know the icons are simple. Verrryy simple. That's the point. They are for the Launcher7 Windows Phone 7 style launcher, hence the simplicity. I do plan to add more icons in other styles later. The icons that are currently available are ones I made for my personal use with Launcher7 (in keeping with WP7's simplicity) and I just thought I'd share. I do appreciate your support though and thanks for the feedback.
Very nice, waiting for it. The normal App-Icons are ugly in the Launcher7.

I grabbed these yesterday. Love them.. NICE work. Granted I shouldn't say a word as I haven't contributed any myself, but my only criticism is I had a little trouble seeing the labels.. Maybe the font was a bit thin or small or the transparancy a bit faint maybe.. Or just that my 42 year old eyes just pretty much don't cut it anymore.
I've just begun to play with launcher 7 but I think it will also label for you correct? If so, I know I'd love an unlabeled version of these for sure even without the transparancy at the bottom at all. Great pics you used. I actually saw these on deviantart yesterday in the quest for L7 tiles to try.
awesome thanks!
Been looking for some dope icon tiles all day, thank you!!
Great pack! A little dim, but nothing I can't change. Much thanks!
it'sreli great =)
The icons are great, thank you very much.
I would be very grateful if you could provide me these icons without the logo/text so that I can integrate them with my current theme.

Hi!
As a solo developer I started my icon project with the shape that I love: Hexagon.
This app is for your launchers such as Nova or Apex or whatever launcher you like to use on top of your Android device.
Clearly you have to go to your launcher and select the icon pack and wallpaper there.
I'm and always have been deeply in love with hexagon shapes and there was an icon pack like this and for some reason I don't know the dev pulled the app out of the Google play store so as a long term designer I decided to continue his "idea", let me put it like that.
I am very well aware that there are a few icons right now, but I put an icon mask to make at least other icons to look similar to this structure.
I'm planning to update this app every saturday and if you have any kind of suggestions, or even app-icon requests please write them to me. I enjoy doing this stuff and you might have something of yours in the meal
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kutbay.iconpack
Yes! This is awesome! Thanks for your work man. I've wanted this since the LeBron app lol. Some app icons look a little funny getting cut into the hexagon shape but I really like this, can't wait for you to expand the icon list.

Thanks for your encouraging words. You may not know but it means a lot to a person who knows jack about android programming. Since I'm just a designer it took quite a long time to bring up all those things (in my mind )
I must give credit to this guy, if he didn't make this tutorial I would never even imagine making such stuff, he opened a whole world to me.
