1) Pull out Battery for a few min, and reinsert and try for download mode
2) Download M190S tegrak kernel http://pspmaster.tistory.com/attachment/[email protected], will give you recovery as well from here
3) Download the latest firmware from here http://pspmaster.tistory.com/78
you can try and flash the kernel, to see if it boots..if it does you can download tegrak kernel app from play store to use for rooting and lag fix
IF fails, Flash the M190S ROM and your problem should be solved
for more info on tegrak click my link on M110S and you have many how to articles about Korean versions

Flashing to new ROM but always freezes on Semaphore

I installed CWM through ODIN on my I9000 and booted into recovery mode through CWM and tried to flash two different ROMs but each time it hangs with the Semaphore flag and logo on the screen, after which it never boots and returns to the same screen. I can get it into download mode and I have reflashed a stock ROM and its back to normal.
Any guesses on how I can get around this? Thanks!

I've tried again, following the exact instructions. Install CWM, wipe the 3 data sources and install rom from sdcard. Within 2-3 seconds the phone reboots and arrives at the Semaphore screen. I've tried 3 times now and each time I have to reinstall a stock rom to get the phone alive again.
This depends on ROM you are flashing, you do not seem to tell us, what ROM you are flashing, you need to repeat the flashing in SD card , TWICE, and some may work only if ( after flashing) you go back into CWM recovery and flash again ..
Anyway this will help you solve problems

Sorry the rom is - pa_galaxysmtd-3.99-RC2-20130921
Unfortunately I cannot flash twice because I can't get into CWM once we hit the Semaphore screen. I can pull the battery and do volume down/home/power but it only takes me to downloading option, not recovery. So I'm unsure how I can flash twice without going to stock rom in between?

you can repeat flash, when you doing it the first time by just repeating the process and only rebooting after you have flashed it more than once and after that flash the gapps than reboot. or try for a stable version.

It does pick up the networks when I search for them but doesn't let me connect to any of them. The sim is definitely not the issue.

If your phone status like this
or your IMEI is 0000 than you need to use your efs backup to resolve like this
[6] Problem:- lost my IMEI or changed on upgrading to JB CM 10
Quote:
Solution:- Reason is you had Jumped from GB to JB (should be on ICS before JB), so now you need to
1) Download Root Explorer, or Xplore, or any root browser from Play Store and use it to
2) Search you internal SD card for sdcard/backup/efs or any other backup you have for your efs
3) Copy nv_data.bin, nv_data.bin.md5 paste them (means overwrite existing files) into /efs in your Internal Phone memory
4) Fix permissions by Click on efs folder and keep it pressed to open the menu and click on permissions and set them to rw_r_r_ ( Owner = read & write - Group = read only and Others = Read only), after this Save using menu and exit using menu
5) Power down phone and reboot into recovery and wipe cache before rebooting phone to get back your original IMEI
or
you can start from the beginning.. go back to GB 2.36 (use a JVU ROM + Root, upgrade to ICS CM 9 and than to CM10
Solution for i9000 on JB:-Try not to jump from Gingerbread to Jellybean, as all upgrades should be done progressively. meaning you need to be on a GB 2.3.6> than into ICS and finally into JB.

Try to change your modem to JW4 or contact directly to SferaDev. I have this ROM without any problems, and it contains Semaphore by default
Could this be a bug in the PA-ROM?

Depends on the Kernel you had flashed before on the ROM you had, The version you have is 3.0.0.5, written on the image your posted. Here you must know and indicate what is your phone model. Galaxy S has 20 variants, ans their ROMs, kernels may not be compatible with each other. So what is your phone model?

I do first thing from the first post on the tutorial you give me "Only Rooting or Flashing Kernels or Modems"
I now download ICS rom from this
Code:

and hope the phone is work after I flash the rom.
NOTEhone is still stuck on the screen logo after I done with him in ODIN and when I go to recovery same thing as earlier.

wooh, Hold on! you flashed dbdata. rfs and hope it will work?, Step by step meant flash the gingerbread ROM with kernel as written above, the link is inside the upgrading or downgrading to gingerbread section.
Flashing a kernel alone would work too, but you are not sure what version of ROM, you really have on your phone.
IF you are positively sure you had a gingerbread ROM, than flash this to solve your problem

[Q] Phone wont boot, not able to push files on it.

Hello, my galaxy GT-i9000 phone wont boot anymore. I tried to install a custom rom on it wich i succeeded in. After a while i wanted to install diffrent one and tought that i could simply boot in recovery mode hit the wipe data/factory reset button and then apply update.zip. This was not the case as it corrupted the previous rom and did not install the new rom. I can still start my phone into ClockworkMod recovery and download mode. I tried to push a new rom on my SDcard whit adb push but this gives me /system/bin/sh: adb: not found. I'm kinda hoping on some kind of recovery tool that will allow me to push a diffrent rom on my phone.

Well i tried to solve it myself whit your tutorials but nothing seems to work. I flashed back to a stable stock rom (The JPU One in your post) I deleted and replaced the efs folder like 5 times from the correct efs file i downloaded somewhere on this forum as i did not make a backup of my original one. I cleared EFS useing Odin. It simply does not want to connect. Sometimes a 3G logo pops up but it never works.

Look at this
Final Solution:-
When NOTHING works and its going to drive you nuts, just walk down to your nearest Phone repair shop, find out how much they will charge for using their Riffbox/z3x/spt/octopus box to fix the IMEI, and it can be resolved in a few minutes when the problem is software related.
IF it is Hardware related than it could be due to base-band problem and may need an IC ( modem/baseband chip) replacement to resolve.
to verify do the following test
type *#06# , and IF you get message "imei null" or imei starts by 0049XXXX or 00000 it should be resolved by software .
but IF nothing is shown when you type *#06#, that is a hardware problem or look at attached picture below. .

[Q] Can I recover i9000 using Clockworkmod?

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S i9000 which fails to boot - it just between the Galaxy S logo and a blank screen every few seconds.
I can get into both Download mode and recover mode. Some time ago I rooted this phone and installed Gingerbread so I could unlock it, and it looks like I also installed ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5 , that's what comes up when I boot into recovery mode.
Unfortunately I don't have any saved backups that I can attempt to restore from.
Is it possible that I can load something onto the sdcard using a PC and then use the 'apply update from sdcard' or 'install zip from sdcard' option to get the phone back to life? If someone can point me to some instructions to read, that would be very helpful.
Hi,
when you can get into CWM-Recovery you can push ZIPs etc. to your phone ...
In the CWM-Recovery you have to mount the internal SD...that should be all i think...

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S i9000 which fails to boot - it just between the Galaxy S logo and a blank screen every few seconds.

Thanks.
I tried to download the version of Odin and the ROM from that first link, but it seems to be impossible without agreeing to install a whole bunch of malware/crapware such as iLivid, Torch and a ton of worthless browser extensions.
Is it possible to get this stuff from somewhere else which isn't quite so intrusive?
Kind regards,
Pete
When you try the first link of xsenman in the thread you can find the version for odin to download i think without downloading any malware and so on ...

the trick is to click only the free download button again and again till your download begins, you will never be able to download, if you click the other download buttons (they have added all this buttons lately), as free upload sites like this purposely have them to confuse downloaders and take them to all sorts of crapware. Not that I like it myself, but this site allows above 100MB download at one go, compare to media fire which needs to be split up as such uploaded to it. like I said when I uploaded it a year ago, it never had this issues.

It certainly confused me, so it worked
Thanks for your help with this. The solution I found was to download a cyanogen 10.1.3 zip file onto the Micro SD card via my PC, put that into the phone, do a recovery install using 'select zip file' from external_sd .
That allowed me to update the CWM installation, then re-run the installation and boot to the boot loader, so I at least have a working phone. Not sure whether I can live with cyanogenmod, but at least if anyone else searching finds this thread they'll see how it can be resolved without Odin or stock ROMS if CWM is present.
Thanks everyone for your help.
Great. Whne you "can live with CM" you can get it on with CM 10.2 actually as nightly-builds but for me it seems to be very stable ...:good::angel:

URGENT!!! Phone won't go into recovery or download mode!

Hi All,
I would like to please request some help here with my Galaxy S I9000...
So I was running Cyanogenmod 10.1, Android 4.2.2. All was good.
I rebooted into recovery.
I backed up my rom and data.
Wiped/factory reset, wiped cache, wiped Dalvik cache.
Tried to install a Cyanogenmod 7.2 ROM. Install process finished in about 20 seconds. This striked me as not normal.
installed GAPPS package. Again, installed quicker than ever.
rebooted, hoping for the best.,
Boot loop.
The way it goes:
Turn phone on -> shows samsung logo. Shows modified samsung logo with cyanogenmod logo below.
Then, I see a quick flash of something from Clockworkmod recovery, then it reboots. restarts.
Tried entering recovery, but didn't work.
Tried entering download mode, didnt work.
Tried several methods here, didn't work.
Please help, need my phone ASAP!!!
Thank you all in advance!

Try methods here But first power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and trying any solution

Cheers mate... Tried methods, but didn't work.
Would using a JIG work to get it into recovery?

yup, when all else fails, JIG would be able to do it, which was also listed in the link I gave you earlier, you can even borrow one near you
