Me again,
I noticed that my screen usage is at 70% but I have the auto brightness off and it turned down to about a quarter of the bar. Is there a reason for the usage being so high?

I believe interfacing with your phone (touching the screen) counts as screen usage.

Thank you, not sure if it was my imagination but since switching to ics it seemed my screen was brighter even at 0%. This app fixed that I also think it helped with my battery drain problem. Have to use it a few more days to be sure, but it looks promising!

did you uncheck automatic brightness and turn it all the way up?
Powersaver on? Makes a huge difference in brightness levels.

Yup yup. Power saver does some work on the brightness levels.

Yes it was unchecked but I guess I'm just used to higher brightness levels like other phones I've had.

Do you mean it's still bright?
I think it's the nature of X8, I played with my X8 lot times in night and
I down the brightness completely but its still tearing my eyes!
Wear a glass next time!
You can use screen dimmer app or change minimum value in auto brightness settings in screen dim level.

I have a problem with my HTC one stock firmware. The max manual brightness on the interface is very very low. Half that of a maximum Nexus. But when I open the Car app or Camera app it comes to life with a lot of light.
Is that a known issue with the stock sense ?

It's a screensaver that you can use while docked or charging. Nothing really special, just something else for them to say they have as a feature really.
Not so good when using it while charging as it keeps the screen on slowing down the rate of charge as I found out this morning. Thanks for your reply
