okay i have seen kernel in the android development section there.. there 2 type devil ics/jellybean kernel and a semaphore kernel.. now the problem is how do i use them? or how to flash them?

Essentially, you want to use Odin to flash a custom rom that is rooted with clockworkmod recovery. From there, you can simply download the .zip file of the rom to your phone and flash it from recovery mode.

Hi,
I am currently on the leaked gb build 2.3.2 and my build number is XWJV1. I saw that there is no CWM recovery for the current build so how can i install roms like AOKP in my i9000 without CWM?
Thanks

I think you would just have to flash a kernel with CWM.
For example, CF Root for JV1, includes:
"CF-Root takes the kernel from an original Samsung firmware, and just adds root, busybox, and (unprotected recovery and CWM compatibility) OR (CWM3)"
I can't post a link because I'm a junior member. Look in the i9000 Development section, search CF Root JV1.

Enter Download mode, flash via Odin a firmware (like JVU) that has got a compatible kernel (like semaphore) and you'll' have access to recovery mode, from where you could flash any .zip AOKP rom.
buddies,, am currently on rocketrom V7 which is a touchwiz based rom with speedmod kernel, and i want to move to a AOKP based rom. Have heard that i cant just directly wipe and flash aokp through CWM on touchwiz roms. So searched the forum and found two options, 1.) flash gb rom first and then flash AOKP or 2.) flash abyss 3.9 which is a GB kernel(saw somewhere) and then reboot recovery and flash AOKP. May i know whether my findings are correct? and shall i go with option 2 since its easier?? thanks in advance:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
first option is safe, you wont regret later.

first go back to any gingerbread rom by odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
then flash zimage of cwm recovery by initial cf root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784
then flash downloaded zip files of aokp rom (build 39) is best.
Abyss way is quick and safe... I always use it to flash roms.

Hello everyone, i am new in the forum. I want to install the new paranoid 3.5 on my n7000 with stock JB rom (N7000XXSLZ). My question is if i can flash the hydracore kernel v7 using directly PC Odin without risk hard brick or yellow triangle. Then my idea is to flash the paranoid rom from CWM how can i proceed?
Tanks to all
Check if hydracore kernel can be flashed on JB ROMs on the thread of the kernel. If it is compatible with stock JB ROMs you can safely flash it without any risks. After that you enter the recovery and install the .zip file of PA 3.5

I'm on stock Rom GB 2.3.6 on my Samsung s plus and I tried to flash any Cyanogen Custom Rom in CWM ( Ics and Jb) and Always i get the same answer . O f course I rooted My phone ,Installed CWM and did all the wipes .Always the same answer no matter what version of Custom rom I tried to flash. What can I do?
Makesure you have to use correct version of cwm to install the cm. I recommend try cyanogenmod 10.1 JB 4.2.x . GO to the cyanogen official rom post (under ADC team).
FOllow all the instruction that stated inside the topic.
Any mismatch of the version of installation can fail to install rom.

Exactly.
Looks like your installation is failing because the file is for an I9000B. If you want to use CM10.1 on an I9001, you'll need to go here.
Good Day,
I want to ask if I can directly install a custom ROM on my GT-N7000 running on stock anrdoid Gingerbread.
Thank you.

Yes..
Flash Phil jb kernel using Odin... Then use that recovery to flash a cm11 kernel like raw kernel.. Then flash the kitkat rom... You should make the backup of your current rom if you want before installing the newer OS kernel.
Thanks for the reply. Can you give me the links so I can make the procedure. And also what is the latest stock rom for the GT-N7000? Thanks.
Just check the development section of xda n7000.. All links are there and for latest jb rom you can check samfirmware.com
