Issues with installing Eclipse v3.0 - Motorola Droid Bionic

I downloaded eclipse v3.0 onto my computer, compressed into a zip then put it on my SD card. After wiping data I went to install from SD card and it said it could not open the .zip file because it was 'bad'. Anyone know what's going on? Am I downloading it improperly onto my computer? Am I missing an extra step? Running .905, checked to make sure everything would align. Thanks for any help.

First of all you need to make sure the zip is still compressed when you put it on your phone 2nd what recovery service are you using ? (cwm, safes strap?)

[Q] Have I destroyed my nook? Tried everything from google.

And now I'm at your mercy.
I received my Nook Color (1.1.0) today and immediately rooted it with Autonooter 3.0
After that, I went ahead and attempted to flash the Honeycomb rom. I was greeted with this error message in Clockwork and now no matter what I do, every time I clear everything and attemot to install a romm.zip, I get this error message in CWM:
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "zoom2" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "zoom2:
E:Error in /sdcard/romrestore.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Any help?
If clockwork works you should be able to fix it. Try downloading the rom again. I had a bad download once.

Sadly I've tried it a good 5-6 times. I get the same error every time. I've even tried redownloading CWM too in case of a bad download, nothing works.

are you attempting to use CWR from a SD card, or from internal memory? Which CWR version are you using? Also what are you selecting in CWR to install your zip file?
Have you tried Re-burning your SD card, it sounds like the image might be corrupted.
Also if you wiped everything try Restoring back to stock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914690
Use this thread.
**O yeah also, which HC rom are you attempting to use, and did you check your download against the MD5?
Is it this rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947071 it listed MD5. so you can make sure you download is not corrupted.

-From SD card
-Already formatted and reburned a billion times, same thing
-Already tried that .zip, still no-go
Oh im not even trying HC right now. Just trying to get stock rom back first. I cant even boot into a rom anymore, it wont turn on unless there's CWM on the SD card.

Ok well that Link should work for you then.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=914690
Also I was reading on the HC thread, and looks like the newest version requires EXT4 CWR, which is Version 3.0.0.6 the old version 3.0.0.5 will not work for CM7 or that new HC version. So if you were using the old version that would be the problem.
Don't worry you haven't broken your nook if you can still boot off the SD card, then you can Recover your nook. It might just take some reading of the threads.

Just download the 1.0.1 zip files put it in the root of the CWR Sd card, and flash it to the system like any flashable zip file. Remember to Clear your System and Data partitions first. then once that is done you should beable to boot into a completely clean and freash non-rooted 1.0.1 state, Then just download the 1.1 update from B&N website, and do a normal update to 1.1 then you can Root it or anything you want.

If you are restoring to Stock 2.1 then the old one 3.0.0.5 will work fine,
if you need to install that HC rom, or CM7 then you wil need the 3.0.0.6 version which supports EXT4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959240
I'm pretty sure you can use that to flash EX3 partition as well, so that one will be good for using from now on till a newer version comes out.

This is the IMG file that you will need to burn to your SD card..... if your on windows I recommend using Win32Imager..... once you have your CWR sd card, Download the 1.0.1 Zip then drop that zip file into the root of the CWR SD card.... Boot off the CWR SD card. clear your system, data, and cache. Install the Zip file......
if you still can not boot after this you might have corrupted your boot Partition.
in which case you will need to download and flash THIS FILE which is a stock boot partition.
there are so many helpfully threads on this forum, you should really take some time and read through them.

If windows is not seeing your sd card correctly then you either did something wrong or you sd cards is messed up..
Please tell me what windows you are using and what steps you did when you burned the img to the SD card... Also tell me what brand of SD card it is and what size.
also did you verify you download of the SD card img with MD5 checksum?

I was using win32 wrong.
Windows 7
Chose the file (recovery-clockwork-3.0.1.0-encore)
Chose the drive ( E: )
"Write" - It flashed just for a second
"Write" - Correctly wrote recovery-clockwork-3.0.1.0-encore to the SD
Put rom on SD card (romrestore.zip)
Put micro-SD into Nook
Cleared System/Data/Cache

Received the same error.... again.

When you "Chose romrestore.zip" what menu item are you using in CWR
You should be going to "install zip from sdcard" >then "choose zip from sdcard" > then select your zip... I assume you are doing it like this.
the only thing I can think of if you are doing everything write is that your Zip file is corrupted. or you permission are screwed up....
Please download http://www.winmd5.com/ and verify that the file matches the MD5 checksum...
If your using the 1.0.1 from the link I gave you then the checksum is this
md5sum: 6d00a461a221e69195440355f6706104
While I was waiting, I tried the CWM removal and that worked, I can get to the "Touch the future of reading" screen.
A step further but it's stuck there...

Can you flash a rom without a micro sd card?

I just picked up a Bionic, but don't have a micro sd card for it yet. I already rooted it, but was wondering if I can just save rome on the internal memory and flash them like that or if that would be an issue?
Any quick help would be appreciated.
I don't see why not. When I download a row or theme, it downloads to the internal sd in the download folder and I flash from there
I would be careful with that, because from what I've read, they always recommend flashing from the sdcard because if the internal memory gets erased and something goes wrong, you won't have the zip file to flash the rom from.

Rooting SD card for Nook - image unzipping

Hello,
I am so new to this it is not even funny. I have been relentlessly trying to root an SD card for my nook. I am following the thread on this site that gives step by step instructions and all links - ([ROM][CM7] [v1.3] Size-agnostic SD Card image and CM7 installer for SD Cards.). When I download the "image" at the beginning of the steps - the one you have to unzip- my computer downloads it as a .bin file and nothing, and I mean nothing, I have tried will unzip that damn image. I have burned through 2 SD cards trying. I do not know what to do. I have downloaded every unzip utility on both Mac and Windows to no avail. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Something is wrong with your PC. It should have a single file in the zip that ends in .img. Try downloading with your nook or a different PC. (Also some PCs hide the .zip ending from you, which I think really sucks.)

Yes, you need to rename the rom zip file with update- at the beginning. CM changed their naming standard to cm-. You obviously did not use my image or that would have been fixed. You will have to rename the zips everytime you flash a new one.

Yes, unzip them. Just put the card in your PC and copy those two files to the SD. They will replace the two files that are there. That's all there is to it. Next time you boot to sd recovery it will use those files instead of the old ones. And it will recognize the new file names for the rom zips.

Something is very wrong there. Those two files are tiny. And they are replacing files already there so should take no more room. You were probably not taking the card out and putting in your PC. You were probably plugging in the USB cable. You need to do the first thing. Put card in PC.
Edit: Something is really wrong with your Mac. First it will not download or read the zips right, then it will not let you rename the rom .zip and now it will not let you copy files to the boot partition. It is your Mac that is the problem, not the card size.

I was placing the card into the PC. Also I didnt use my Mac for the card, I used a Windows PC. I followed all the instructions from verygreen when making the card and used Winimage to write it. When I insert the card into my computer I get two different files a boot that contains the boot.bin file and the ram and image files. And then there is a seperate file/drive on the sd labeled SD cm7.
If I make a new SD card, do I use verygreens' image file and then add your two files or do I use your two files only or is there another file I am missing? I might end up paying the 40 for the SD card already done, though I really hate t spend the money if I could just get it right.
Anyway thanks for everything....again!!! and I am sorry for my incompetence
(continued from above) I am attaching screenshots of what the SD card contains when i plug it into the computer.

Yes. But to get back to stock to just run it, press the n key while the cyanoboot logo first shows and the boot menu comes up. Then you can choose to boot to emmc, which in your case is stock. Or just take the card out.

Guys, I need some help -- can't copy files to sdcard or internal memory after TWRP fo

Long story short -- I'm selling my Note 4 so I wiped/formatted EVERYTHING (used "format data" option in TWRP which required me to type "yes"). After that happened I found I didn't have an OS installed. Ok, no big deal right? I'll mount my sdcard and copy the stock firmware over than flash with TWRP.
WRONG. Every time I try to copy a file to either the sd card or the internal storage, I get the following error message:
"Cannot copy Trltetmo_N910TUVU1ANJ7_Stock_Deodexed.zip
Its file size is larger than the device limit."
Click to collapse
Wtf? In file explore it says that the SD card has 29.7GB free space available. And internal storage has 24.1GB. Obviously something is not right here.
Is it possible that TWRP didn't format things correctly? I just want to know how to fix this so I can get the stock firmware back on this bad boy and get it sold. I have been out of the android scene for awhile so any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Also, not sure if it's worth noting but when I mount my Note 4 in windows with TWRP both the internal storage and sd card have like no file structure or files whatsoever. Completely empty. Also interesting is every time I reboot with TWRP, it asks if I want to install supersu or whatever to root the phone. I say "yes" but each time I reboot after that it asks me the same thing like it didn't actually do anything.
You can use ODIN to install Stock firmware on phone. So you won't need to copy anything to phone/sdcard memory.
If you still want to install that deodexed rom you mentioned, you need to plug your sdcard to computer using a sdcard adapter. TWRP built-in mount fails most of the times when trying to copy big files.

I guess that's not actually the "stock" stock firmware. Because the file I have is a .zip and is apparently incompatible with Odin. I will go to sam mobile and download the firmware there.
Do you recommend I download the most recent firmware should I flash the one that came with the phone?
Also, I hope that once I get the firmware back on, I will be able to copy large files when mounting normally once booted into the OS...

Yes, download the latest firmware and install it using ODIN.
You would be able to see and copy/paste to your internal and memory card normally after phone boots into android.
