The end-all thread for ROMS and sound quality - LG Optimus Black

Alright ladies and gents, I want a general consensus, and maybe teach my how to add a poll?
What ROM has the best sound quality?
Im talking GB roms, well everything.............
I have headphones and on most roms the right ear buzzes like ****, and it happens on both my headphones (decent quality) and not on my PC or half broken MP3 Player. Suppressed rom is aesthetically my favourite now with 7.5 but dear holy jesus the right ear is a mess of buzzing.
I've tried the various BEATS and stuff but I really think it comes down to who and how the rom was built

Sound Quality:
Ultrasound v3
Overclock, Speed &Power:
Zues v6.39n / without n
Best Customization:
Marvel v9
Picture Quality:
Noa Sense
Overall For all Specs:
Boype's Modded CyanogenMod7
Im using Beats Solo HD and am using vol*me+(An app)(Paid)
And jays Four. That app gave me lots of quality and power. And you can use its root settings for more sound quality

[Q] Incredible S Audio Quality ?

I was aiming for the Sensation but the price is out of range for me so I figured I'd have to settle for the solution right below it (Nope, not the Desire HD)
Incredible S - A phone with all my needs, a perfect screen size, great camera, great-looking (I'm probably the only one who thinks so lol) .. Even if the bootloader's currently locked i'm not the type who won't use a device unless root, we got WidgetLocker, Go Launcher and other stuff not to mention the original Sense UI is awesome
But one thing i'm concerned about -- the sound quality, I read that GSMArena review and they said it was bad .. I'll basically use the phone I buy as my music player so that matters to me a lot, and earphones sound is more important than speaker sound for me
What's your experiences with the sound quality ? If it's great, i'll head out and buy this phone since it's perfect besides that, if it isn't i'll buy the Desire S which means i'll have to settle for an average camera .. I need positive clarification before I get the S.
I use PowerAmp as my musicplayer, and with the build in equalizer and SRS Enhancement and a good pair of earplugs, i think the sound is just fine.

Thanks, what do you think of the speaker sound, then ?
a good pair of earphones will get u going in no time, as for the loudspeaker, they're quite soft and there'll be static noise n distortion if turned to the max. it's htc, it's normal x
IMO ...use custom earphones and a good sound manager like poweramp...the sound is quite good for a phone.
But yeah the speakers are just average! dont expect too much from them.
but overall u wont regret buying this phone
Ok, thanks guys ! I have my eyes set on it now.
I had an iphone before my IS, and the sound on the IS is a lot better than iphone using Poweramp
The quality of the phone/sound is nice, will try with my stereo nokia bt hedest at home, and chk beck to tell.
Also htc makes awfull earphones, its literally hurt my ears, so one need to change that!

is audio quality related to what rom you are running

ok here it goes, i am not a very techi person, but i pay attention to details, but i need to know if the sound quality is related to what rom I am running on my note.
If yes, which rom has the best quality output, and what software besides poweramp, will make a big difference in sound quality, and what settings do you use.
I flashed a few ics roms, and notcied that the sound quality became not as before, so is there any validation to my observation, but that is how i feel moving from one rom to another, listening to the same song on different roms, and noticing the sound quality.
I tried using DSP manager, and worked great with one rom, and not so great with another ics rom, but its difficult for me to analyze the whole sound quality thing, so I please need your help as for me music and sound quality is the most important aspect I look to get from a phone

if i am not wrong... yes it depends on what ROM you are using.. i have used several Roms so far.. out of many ROMs out there the best i can say at the moment is CM 9 V1 from Imilika .. its smooth.. stable.. and sound quality is just great...
Press thanks if this was useful for you.
In theroy it shouldnt matter. Hardware stays the same and drivers are the same unless tweaked drivers are used nit aware of thst in Gb roms

not to bash cm9 v1 i found that the sound quality was not great, I had much better sound from other ics roms, I wish I could remember which one it was, but I can't as I flashed so many roms,
I really hope technical gurus could shed more light on the sound quality and its relation to roms
Well since the audio hardware is the same and so are the drivers I don't see how would the rom affect sound quality (which is pretty poor to begin with)
Supercurio could shed some light on this subject....

Poor sound quality

Hey all
About a week ago my Galaxy S was stolen at a festival, so yesterday I bought myself a second hand O2X. I like it a lot even though there's no stable ICS rom available as of now.
The only thing I dislike about the phone is the fact that it's speaker quality (the bottom one for music/video) is so horribly bad compared to the Galaxy S. Especially when you realize that they advertise this phone as Dolby Mobile capable. It's just so quiet and weak and it does not seem to pronounce any bass or treble correctly.
So I'm asking you O2X users: is there some sort of tweak available that brings out the real power of that speaker?
Running CM7 2.3.7 btw. Thanks!
The speaker itself won't be loud nor specialy good but you can try to flash a kernel with voodoo sound (fe ETaNa's kernel).
he is talking about the SPEAKER sound. voodoo only alters the volume of headphone output.
yeah, its a gripe that the speaker is so quiet, but it actually is a really high quality speaker, only not used to full potential.
what most people do is use the dsp manager app to crank up the freq's at the speaker graphic eq. adds distortion, but what ya gonna do.
f**k LG's "devs"
edit: dolby mobile is pure crap, which works only in original music and video app AND also only works for headphones. (it friggin distorts the bass a lot, i hated it. power amp way better)

VOLUME + APP <---------;}

Volume+ does work but..............
If you use poweramp (I do) you must disable a particular setting for Volume+ to work, and in result makes the overall sound quality awful, Very tinny and distorted bass that wants to shatter your ear drums.
Havent really tested it on loud speaker and I only really listen with my Beats Headphone in.
Also, Awesome beats doesnt work for me (and many others) and constantly FC's.
If you're not a poweramp user, then definitely test the free trial version, Its an awesome player with a great equalizer board ! definately increases sound and quality compared to stock music player and / or google play music !

[Q] Htc one 4.3.3 - running high end Iem's (in ear monitors) - Sound at its best?

Hi all,
This ones for the audiophiles, or those who love their sound to be of quality..
I'm running stock 4.3.3, and listen to music using quite good quality iem's, Phonak Audeo 232's.
I would like to know if the sound (which is already decent with these headphoens imo), is at its best or is there a mod similar to Voodoo? I'm not a fan of beats audio, nor believe in its hype. And don't want to eq or add any fancy effects, as I believe the sound should be as flat as possible.
Would be good to know, before spending money on a much more expensive dap.
Thanks for your help
If you have unlocked bootloader and custom recovery, the below sound mod helps immensely. You can pick and choose which features to flash to your device. I suggest running a nandroid before flashing just in case you don't like it (I doubt you wouldn't, there is a ton of audiophiles running this mod, including me).
