Has anyone tried flashing another kernel on top of the nightly? Such as motley's, Trinity, or something else?

Won't boot.

Are you useing R8 source files to do the changes, or sharing the same modified file?
R8 might be different enough that it doesnt like that.
Try redoing it with the R8 donor file

No camera app. I tried Camera ICS from Play but it can't connect to camera. Is there one that should work?
BTW my kernel says 2.6.35.14.
I flashed gapps from cm10 and they work just fine with a bit lagg. System UCI error and then when I change volume from setting it force closes. Sound works proper. I set up a sliding lock screen but when I get calls I can't answer. Calling works well outgoing calls. Feedback works. Camera doesn't says it can't be directed. Its a nice ROM... thanks I'll keep trying it out. Need screenshots? And no notification bar ;/

OK, go to system/app and remove the old SystemUI.apk and put this one in it's place, then fix permissions in recovery.
adb commands for linux are something like.
Mount system, i did it in TWRP (no apps)
cd android/sdk/platform-tools (wherever your adb is located)
./adb devices (some numbers should pop up)
./adb shell (you should get a #)
rm SystemUI.apk
exit out of shell and go back to platform-tools
./adb push /(file path to SystemUI.apk) /system/app
reboot recovery, fix permissions, and you are done.
