Noob Question: How Do I Fix Mismatch MD5? - Motorola Droid Bionic

I would like to know how to fix this problem. I was trying to update my phone to the ICS .232 update. I used RSD Lite 5.7 and went back to staco 905. I then tried to update to ICS but was unable to because it told me it couldn't verify the signature and aborts the update. Will someone help me to understand what I did wrong and what I can do to fix this problem, please. Because now I can't restore back to Eclipse 3.0! Thanks

Most likely either a bad download or the update zip is inside a zip file that you downloaded. First try unzipping the file you downloaded and see if there is a pnpther zip file in it. Otherwise, try downloading again and confirming that it had the correct md5 sum.

Droid BIONIC Unstuck Utility

[Includes latest Motorola USB Drivers]
http://dev.crackflasher.com/mattlgroff/XT875.Verizon.en.US/DroidBionicUnstuck.zip
NOTE: Please have the update zip for the ICS leak you want to "unstuck" to on your external SD card before starting. You cannot mount SD cards in the semi-bricked states between flashing option 1 "unbrick" of this and installing that update zip in Motorola Recovery.
This by default contains the fastbootable files to re-flash .235. If you want to go to a future/leak or official OTA with this replace the boot.img with the .235 one (read the included readme.txt for more information).
What this tool does:
1) Flashed system.img & preinstall.img from 5.9.905 and the boot.img from (default) .235 to allow the install of .235 in motorola recovery (you MUST put the update zip on your external SD card yourself ! You cannot mount using your phone once you flash this step.
2) Root MotoICS 4.0.4 using razrsedge by Dan Rosenberg.
If your computer cannot run the runme.bat utility you can do each option separately using Unbrick.bat or Root404byDanRosenberg.bat respectively.
To root have phone booted, drivers installed, USB Debugging enabled, and USB Mode set to MTP or Camera (not USB Mass Storage). If still getting "devices not found" wipe data and try again.
If you cannot run option 1 "Unbrick" then your Battery is LOW and/or the drivers are not installed.
For those that are wondering the link currently provided is not the correct one. I'm sure mattlgroff will update when he wake sup or you can google for his other thread with the same title where johnlgalt has posted the correct link.
*Note: this will not be of much use until you need to move forward from .235, but for those that like to be prepared...

I downloaded SamuriHL's House of Bionic program and it saved my butt when I encountered the same issue as you a few days ago. You should be able to google House of Bionic to get the link to this program. I haven't posted enough on this site to be able to post any links on this forum. Here's a tip that may help you out here. If you have trouble getting this program to work after installing it o. Your PC, just reboot your PC. It cured all of my problems and was able to use this program to unbrick my phone.

For those who don't know, matt whipped this up for us when I bricked my BIONIC proving that .235 was a one way street. I never did thank him for his efforts on our (and specifically my) part, so I am thanking the post now and making a public comment doing that.
Thanks, matt! And now, thanks to your work with the RAZRs, the BIONIC users now have Sam's HoB to boot. Bravo!

now i'd had HoB from samurihl where he instructed me to perform the reinstall 235 and to put this update file to flash from recovery... pls correct if my understanding is not right and much thanks to you.
Thanks all
Great thanks also to samurihl, johnlgalt, john2007 and matllgroff also everybody on all forums
And actually i'd already managed to power up my bionic last night
Didn't notice that after i got samurihl's reinstall 235, all i have to just put my previous update 235 blur rom that i'd flashed before to my bionic.. i thought i need to put different and specific rom from samurihl's HoB file.
Right after i'd tried, no failed sign verification found and the recovery re update all system back again to my 235 before brick
Now i'd already install 242 from HoB file too. So much thanks and appreciated ur help and guidance to newbie like me sir, great forums also i've been found during my searching of problem...

ICS Leak 6.16.217 Update zip, boot.img and crc

AS of 8/18 - You can download this directly from moto by checking settings>about phone>system updates
D4 6.16.217 ICS Leak files. Download and open the zip to find the update file, boot.img (named ICSFIX) and the crc. If too many of you jump on this at once the host my go down. Be great if someone could mirror. I have a very slow dsl upload speed here and no 4g. Took about 3 hours just to get this up.
D4 6.16.217.zip - 366.95 MB
If you using the the ICS only tool, then just add the ICSFIX.img to the files folder. Be sure you have the update zip on your sdcard or both the update zip and the crc in your cache.
Please note this is not a full rom. It must be installed over stock GB or if you are on a ICS leak using a jump method to install. The shortest method I know of is to flash in fastboot the GB system file, the preinstall, then the boot.img for the ICS leak and then in stock recovery the update zip.
I will install it when I get home tonight
Sent from my XT894 running ICS
Same here, once I have sometime tonight ill install and provide any info.
Thanks for taking the time to put the file up

FYI - I was getting some weird installation messages about not being able to mount my userdata partition, I performed factory reset through the recovery, then rebooted and everything was resolved.
I think it was something like error code 7, can't remember exactly although it looked similar to this:
Code:
Installing update...
assert failed: mount("ext3", "MTD", "userdata", "/data")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Yep, successfully installed - don`t see any difference yet.
So far so good... Don't notice much of a difference, but it's only been a few hours...
BTW, since I lost root I figured I might as well confirm (from my thread in the general forum from a while ago), it does default to the interactive governor instead of hotplug. I'm not sure how large a difference this makes in battery life though.
Yeah you have to reroot, but it works just fine still.

I have a D4 but I have not done any modding on it other than installing AOKP through recovery. The person I got it from had already flashed an ICS leak. Forgive my ignorance but I am unclear on some things surrounding the D4. Can I install this through CWM or does it need to be done with some other utility? I am also unclear on what leaks provided working voice and data on gsm. If possible can anyone confirm that this leak will allow me to use the D4 on GSM 850 and 1900? Thanks in advance.
Edit: So I reread the OP and I will try to get this running on the ICS tool, but if anyone can address my question about gsm bands, I would still appreciate it.

I got it running from the start. Did you use jsnweitzel's tool? Alle you need to do is replace the \Droid4 ICS Only\files\ICSFIX.img with the one from the zipfile. Place the 219/217~crc and 219/217~zip on your SD and you should be ready to go.
At least four other users succeeded. So nobody's wasting time here.

+1 = 5 users. I did crash and burn by forgetting to replace the 217 boot image, with ICSFIX.img, but that was my fault.

Really, maybe if you let us know what trouble you had we could help instead of attacking. This is also posted over at droidfroums.net with a couple of mirrors. Just counting my hosting site this has 127 downloads.
This is not a full rom but a patch to stock GB. I edited the op with a little more information. Those of us that have went from one leak to another already know this.

Next time, try to factory reset then reboot and try to reapply the update.
Can you install/upgrade to ICS straight to .217 or do you need to install .215 then update with .217?
The page that the link from the ICS Tool thread links to only goes up to .215 for install/upgrading from GB
If you are on stock GB you can go straight to ICS 217. ICS 215 was the current leak when I wrote the ics only tool.

Are you sure of the file your attempting to use.? Maybe you have an FXZ zip file, and you would need to flash with RSDLite or adb..not TWRP..double check what you are attempting..

OMGoodness.. I'm not really sure Sir..I have a XT1060 DEV..but I haven't kept up with the Moto X lately (in the past month)..So..I'm not really the one to help you with newer versions..Are you sure 4.4.3 is right for your device.?
I'd suggest do research in here (XDA) and know what is the latest..I'm assuming that you are trying to flash an OTA..but if you have a file someone has "ported" or something of that nature..go back to where you downloaded the file and research..
Even if you have an OTA zip..I'd suggest maybe know the file more, maybe it should be unzipped and run an XML file..I honestly am not familiar with the file you are attempting to use..
Maybe post a link to where you found the file and myself and others can go look at what file and its purpose..then maybe we can assist you more..Sorry I can't help you more at this time..

No, it isn't. The screenshots you uploaded CLEARLY show custom recovery. You need to flash stock recovery back before you can take any updates.
If you don't know the difference between stock and custom recovery, you aren't ready to update. You need to Read, Read, Read....

I'm trying really hard to explain it to you but you just aren't getting it....
This is what you wrote in the post you linked:
1- Return to STOCK(Mine is 4.4.2) But I did stock it to 4.4.2. OK!
2- Install the TWRP to install the SuperSU. OK, Everything's fine.
3- After it, my dev is already rooted.
OK, look at step number 2: YOU INSTALLED TWRP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you flashed TWRP, you REPLACED stock recovery with custom recovery (TWRP).
As I've been trying to make you understand, OTAs will -----ONLY----- install if you have STOCK RECOVERY.
You will need to flash stock recovery BACK (replacing TWRP), THEN you can accept the update!!!!
Afterwards, you can flash TWRP back.
This is well documented everywhere.....you will have to do this EVERYTIME a new OTA comes out.
You can NOT accept an OTA if you have TWRP installed.
Do you understand now?

I'm convinced that you aren't even reading what I'm writing......
Let me make this easy for you:
Do this:
1. Return to Stock 4.4.2
2. Accept the OTA (DO NOT FLASH TWRP)
3. After you accept the OTA, and you are running 4.4.3, NOW you can install TWRP
YOU CANNOT ACCEPT THE OTA IF TWRP IS INSTALLED!!!!! I've told you this SO many times now.....
TWRP is your problem. You must NOT install TWRP and root (supersu) until AFTER you accept the OTA.
It has ALWAYS been like this. This is nothing new.
Please read my posts carefully. If you follow those instructions, it WILL work.........

2- No Updates comes up. What's this OTA update you're talking about ? where does it pops up ? I'M SURE I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY right after I stock it... I even checked it in the System Updates...

YES, you do NOT want TWRP (or you can't accept the update).
OTA = "Over the air update" = update to 4.4.3
What method are you using to return to stock? Tell me you aren't just doing a "factory reset". How exactly are you "returning to stock"?
If you install TWRP = updates DISABLED.

I tried many.. RSDLite, Manual flashing and that one that is recommended for people with problems with "boot loop" and the first I tried two days ago that erased all my data, cache, everything..
The thing is, is that every method seems to work fine but I just don't receive the update '-'
Actually I receive that upgrade that is something that pops up for 3 seconds saying "Upgrading android, installing apps." Then my Dev initializes normal but still dealing with the 4.4.2...

Please just try.
1. Return to Stock (just use RSD Lite) YES, this will erase EVERYTHING.
2. Go to settings > About Device > System Update
3. Update to 4.4.3 will install.
4. After 4.4.3 successfully installs, NOW you can flash TWRP (ONLY after you are on 4.4.3)
Please just try it.....

That is because you flashed TWRP, as I've been trying to make you understand.....
Is Spanish your native language?
If so, perhaps this page will explain it better than I can:

Stuck on Brazilian soak, HELP!!!

On my Moto Maxx, I've been stuck on the Brazilian LXG22.33-12.7 Update and I haven't been able to update to any of other rooms posted. I believe this build is a soak test. How would I got about updating my device, preferably without wiping my data(I'm familiar with adb but I need to know which update I should sideload)? Please help this update is soooooooooooooooooooooooo buggy.
Thank you so much in advance!!!
There should be an update to the soak file that will get you to the current rev, finding it could be tough though.
You might be better off flashing the full 5.0.2 image and just not wiping data. At that point there would just be a small update which is rolling out right now which you would get automatically.
You can download the full Brazil 5.0.2 image here:

It can be flashed with RSDlite but you'll need to edit the XML file before hand to remove the entry where it deletes userdata. Or it can be flashed manually with mfastboot.
I might have the update to the soak file which would be the easiest, I will look for it when I get a chance this evening or tomorrow.

Just did the fastboot method and it works! Thank you! I tried adb sideloading the new update, however and it stops at 72% and fails with a status 7. Any ideas on why?
That I am not sure of. I installed the update using the recovery menu and it installed just fine. Maybe give that a shot, no adb required.
Also when thanking people on XDA it's great if you can click the "thanks" button under the post.

Actually I figured it out, turns out I wasn't flashing ALL of the files through fastboot haha. Now up and running fine.

I got it. thanks. I flash with fastboot on a mac and it's working great. thanks
