[Q] Can i put my media on the Internal Storage ? - HTC Incredible S

-USB tehering
-Internet pass-through
And i already tried to put my medias on the phone via HTC Sync but it's say that i can't menage the gallery of the phone because there's no SD CARD

Bad news for you, but it looks like going to service center is only way

one way of putting media to phone memory is that u shud have root access. if u r a superuser then flash rom again,it may solve the issue if ur not root user then u should probably take ur device to service centre or u cud search web how to gain root access on ur phone..

Your phone will run like crap if you start putting too much stuff on your internal storage... Get your phone repaired or buy a new one.
I've never done it but I would assume you would set your phone to debugging enabled connect to computer and select charge only than use adb or some other windows android explorer to push files to your internal storage. Keep in mind if your running ics sense you'll have about 300 mb of internal storage or Aosp ics you'll have 600 - 500 or gb sense 500 mb or gb Aosp 600 - 750 mb. However your phone will run like crap if you have less than 100 mb of free space.

Well okay thanks for all the answer

I had a smilar problem with my moms sony. It would read my class 4 16gb but not my class 3 8gb. I bought her a 16gb class 4 and it worked perfect. It has something to do with the class of the sd card. Hopef it helps

[Q] Trying to run android on 7inch netbook

Hey, Im trying to install and run android x86/arm on a 7 inch cheap netbook from eBay. I know it can be done "watched on youtube" but i follow the tutorials, download file extract the "script" folder to SD card, insert SD card into netbook, power on and it should start installing android.
This does not happen so tried with "unetbootin" to the SD card, inserted into netbook, power on....still nothing and boots straight into Windows CE each time.
Can anyone help me out ?
I'm assuming it doesn't have a DVD slot?

Nope, no cd/dvd drive (i wish) and usb does not support 2.0, so cant use an external dvd drive either.

I think I'd be tempted to get one and put Ubuntu on it.
Well yeah that would work, its for a 11 year old, would they understand ubuntu, and would wifi and facebook is all that really needed to work. And i need it to reconise the sd on boot.

Also are you pressing F12 or del or whatever lets you select the boot drive?

did you try to clean format your sd card before installing?
use a tool called hp usb storage tool, google it, you can find it in softpedia and format the sd card using it, usually solves a lot of boot problems
Tried formating with the tool to FAT32, copied the script for android to SD, nothing booted into CE and so...tried live usb creator to make the SD bootable still nothing boots into CE.
Really annoying

Now that u mention it im using a 8gb micro sd in an SD adapter.
Try a smaller card . Maybe a phone or some other powered device as the "card reader". Just throwing out ideas. GL.
Does the device even recognize the card when powered on normally? Like as a storage device?

Yeah it reconises the SD card when i plug it in to the slot, and can view the files on it.

I think u shud just ask the person u got it from..coz this doesnt seem to be the case with me or the other users...i can use SD cards all right..

+1 to that...i think this is the first time someone's got a problem with the SGA affecting SD cards..
After this problem appeard a second time i made a full wipe in recovery and installed a virusprotector since then there was nothing, but between the first and the second time there were two months.
Maybe its due to the apps u might have installed...Let the fone run and see if the virusprotector makes any difference..
Hit thanks if u got helped!
Now there is nothing it runs once a day may it really was a virus and i kille it by making the full wipe and reinstalling the firmware. But thanks for ure wasted time. May i could get the sd cars back and i hope the phone doesnt do this again in future.

what class of your sd card and brnd?
send from my haramjadah Ace using Xda premium.
If you are using SD Card Tweaks such as improving speed then what did you except?
If you are using stock rom without stock then your SD Card is really weird/bad model (or even producent is weak). I'm using for about 6 months 8GB Kingston 4 Class MicroSDHC with lifetime warranty and I don't have any troubles with it.
The SD Card might be defective. I wouldn't blame the phone though, unless you're messing with sdcard cache and such

It's very unlikely that a phone can "lock" an SD card. Did you tried connecting it to the computer and setting write permissions. Even if it's lock, it's a software lock, so it should let you format it (as I said, sounds like the SD is as "read only")
I hope it helps
Did you partition/format/wipe it using CWM ?
It seems it cause some problem to some people (like missing apps on the partition or "not writable" mode).
You can format it with PC (be sure that MicroSD Adapter isnt lock too)!
When i turn on my phone then display me this http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach.../5130601b/1/7/7/0/3/6/1/SC20130301-083713.png i dont know what mean Error DF XX?
I have another question.
I format my sd card, then i put some data on it, but when i start the phone, and go to recovery mode, then i dont have any file on it.
I dont have mini sd adapter, can i solve problem without it?
When i make ext 4 in mini partition wizard, then when i restart my phone, dont have any data on it and phone tell me the sd card is damage.
I can't go to CMW beacuse everything is deleted when restart phone.
Any solution?

[Q] Changing default path for installation apps

Hello guys,
I'm sorry if this was a repeated question.
But i was wondering how we can change our default installation path on galaxy note?
Because the problem is everytime i download something from google play, its installed in the phone memory which is only around 1,5Gb
What's the use of 11Gb that we had on usb storage then? Can we somehow change the default path to usb storage?
And i don't want to use external SD card. I think that's all, thanks guys! Waiting for your respons!

I've tried that and it refers to the original function of move to sd card from the application settings. And it didn't work it says couldn't move not enough storage space and its because i dont have any sd card insert.
Therefore 11Gb usb storage only useful for extended game data and photo or music?

Using App2SD you can only move some part of an app to the 11GB (called as SD card or internal SD) memory..also, you cant move each & every app, since some apps needs to be on the Phone memory (memory which shows ~2GB)..I am using App2SD to reduce the load on Phone memory..it wl b useful for apps/games, especially which r bigger in size..what I believe is the more you keep the Phone memory free, the more faster your phone will be..

Thats a better option..buy a 32GB memory card & move all the stuffs like movies, music, photos, docs etc etc etc to it..use 2GB+11GB (in built memory) only for apps, games & their data..
Even 64GB card works on our Note, as per the below thread:

However, i moved all apps that are movable, i have no pics, videos, music or whatsoever . Yet, the internal storage gets full very fast to extend that i can't update apps anymore

Its really simple ,1st you flash this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=18061 , then you https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762635999029 install this trought this new installed recovery , and you now have 6gb memory for installing apps, and 7gb on sdcard0
data=6gb (means +4gb for apps)
sdcard0=~7gb (means -4gb from the stock size)

[Q] Questions related to Htc Desire C.

Just got Htc Desire C (4 Gb built-in) without the Sd-Card and I'd like ask a few questions about it.
1) Why is the user available memory only 1 Gb instead of 4 Gb (built-in 4 Gb is written on the box)? What's taking 3 Gb of space?
2) This set has a lot of pre-installed apps, which most of them are useless for me. I can't uninstall but can disable them. I even did a factory reset to see if those apps disappear but they didn't so I disabled them again one by one. Is there a way to uninstall them forever?
3) How do access the user available Internal Storage (1 Gb) from my Pc so I can add some music/videos/pictures in it? Cause every time I connect it via Usb cable into my Pc then only the 95.23 Mb Phone Storage appears which is too low to add some music/videos/pictures.
4) Difference b/w Phone Storage, Internal Storage & Storage Card?
5) I've downloaded some apps which require a Sd-Card like some android media players. Why is that so, despite the fact my phone has ≃ 1 Gb of free space...
Thanks.
GOOD Questions !! [But totally nOOb]
Reading ur Q seems ur r new at android
Here are ur answers :good:
1) HTC Desire C comes with 4GB of bundled internal memory but 3GB of its is allocated for the Android [ROM , System func..] dat's the reason u have to play within 1GB.
2)These are all stock app which comes preinstalled with the stock ROM if u even disabling it will not work so if u want to get rid of these apps first u need to ROOT ur Desire C and then Download ROM TOOLBOX from the market [Play store]
IF u want a GUIDE on how to root Desire C plzz visit my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011209
3)Since Its a new phone in market we have not got enough Dev's to work on it , I am currently trying to hack the phone to extract some amount of internal memory so plz wait till i get a result
4)Phone Storage : Its some sort of data space given to u by the phone . Just in simple words u can use this storage for anything
Internal Storage : There is always a Internal Storage card in every smartphone for its System data and ROM functionality
SD cards : SD cards / Storage cards are removable external userspace for the user :good:
5) Many of the apps store there data on SD bcoz they are jst not simply allowed to use dat 1 GB of space . Sorry bro we cant do anything for it
IMP : For Ur interest i recommend u to refer my GUIDE from the link given above do every thing as i mentioned there ur android life will boost i guarantee

hi
should be getting mine today
how is everybody coping with the low storage issue?
i have been reading up on directory bind and also rickywyatt method
i dont plan on unlocking the bootloader but i do plan on rooting
What low storage issue are you talking about?
While most of them are installed on the SD, I have a lot of installed applications (about a hundred) and I still have more than 3Gb available (internal storage).
An SDcard can be used for your pictures/videos/games, up 32Gb (at least).
If you want to root your phone and don't want to unlock your bootloader, then don't upgrade it.
However, depending on the installed firmware, it may be impossible to root without unlocking the bootloader.
Motorola has fixed the root exploit in the last update.

It depends on the application. Some apps put thier "big" files on the sdcard, some won't.
As emu123 said, you can use an app like Apps2sd to move them from the internal to the external storage.
Even if I install a lot of games, I never ran out of storage. That was the case with my old HTC Desire HD.
Big games can use up to 400Mb, I still have more than 3Gb, which means I can install, at least, 7 big games (but some of them will put files on the SDcard if present). It won't ever happen.
EDIT: I think Apps2sd doesn't work with Android 4.x. Not sure, but I think that the system manages where to install apps when internal storage is full.

I'm not sure the "gosh that's a good idea, we'll pass it on" really counts as an answer - almost as if no-one had ever thought of it before!
Does anyone know how to disable vibro on screen unlocking?
Hi, I set up a thread (in my signature) specifically for for those of us new to Motorola - I just got my first Moto phone 2 days ago too. You may find the thread helpful - I will update it with any info. that people need.
How do you mean low storage? Internally? 8GB (practically 5GB) is low to you? Compared with what? Most phones in the upper tier of mid-range have 8GB and many top-range phones start with 8GB...it seems perfectly normal to me. Either way, do you have an SD card? I've a 32GB for my music and it's now full...some phones load the SDs so slowly...but NOT thins phone, all of my music is found in seconds. :fingers-crossed:
