I have a problem, it seems the mic gain is too high on my ics stock n7000XXLRB (bulgaria). I am using the netcore 14 kernal. I had used a custom rom before and the problem still existed then. Now with the stock ics, it seem the mic gain is too loud and people hear background noise when I call them. I tried video recording and the background noise was just too loud. how can I decrease my mic setting?
not sure
I'm not sure if the problem is the mic gain but the noise cancellation instead since you're describing your situation as a "lot of background noise"..
There are 2 mics on the phone (one on the top edge) and they work with each other to cancel out the background noise.. It might be the kernel that's not working properly with the noise cancellation or your second mic is defective..
If the mic gain is too high as you stated, the other line would hear your voice as terribly distorted like on a speaker on very max volume.

I am experiencing an audio problem with Jac 2.3.3. My call recipients complain that the background noise is too loud. They are hearing my car radio when I can barely hear it, they hear my air conditioner when it is on low, and can hear everything else other than me. My voice is being distorted because it is so loud. In the Jac 2.3.3 thread someone suggested downloading audio manager, but I don't see anything on there that would control the mic volume levels. Does anyone have any idea how to adjust this? Thanks...
Did you use any of Meltus's audio mods? I haven't used JAC's ROM myself so maybe he's using it too, but you should try pushing Meltus's V2 and then V6 to your mobile phone and try again.

Yeah, I would recommend pushing one of Meltus's audio mods because that might change mic volume levels which sounds like it could be the problem. Sounds like the mic is taking things in at speakerphone levels, which should be adjustable.
Try turning on speakerphone and then off speakerphone, that might reset it.
Since yesterday the caller mic of my HTC One is recording only random noise anymore (checked with the audio recording app and the HTC diagnosis app).
It is always full volume white noise, independent of the actual audio in the room. This is not just muffling or so.
I'm on ARHD 41.0 for a while now and I have S-ON. I have not changed anything low level (rom, etc) for weeks.
Secondary mic is fine. Headset is also fine.
Any ideas how this could happen and how to fix it?
Thanks!
Browsing the web a bit I found a solution proposed by somebody who had the same problem: Blowing air into the microphone hole fixes the problem.
I'm not sure how long it will work, but at least for now it is ok again.
Is anybody finding the microphone on their Mix to be too quiet? When I use snapchat, skype, and phone calls, the person on other end complains that I'm barely audible. However, when I record something with the recorder app, it sounds much louder and clearer than a recording in snapchat under the same conditions. I have a feeling it's the noise cancelling microphones on top that are muffling the main microphone, but I don't have a way to test this. I've checked the mic grille for debris and already cleaned as much as I can without disassembling the phone. I don't think it's a hardware issue, because again, the issue seems to be app-dependent. I had this problem on stock MIUI 8 global, but now I'm running the latest RR build with Dragonxia, and the above scenarios still hold true. Anybody else experiencing microphone issues or has any idea how to solve this?
What case are you using? Maybe you've got one that blocks some of the mic holes? I use mine naked and haven't had a problem with microphone on miui 8. There are known mic issues on RR/Lineage ROMs.
I have a problem with my phone. The person on the other end can't hear me at all. He only hears noises and crackles. And it's fine if I switch to loud speakers. I checked my mic it's working properly.. What might be the problem ? I have rom OOS Open beta 19 with root. The same problem was also in earlier versions. Maybe noise reduction causes a problem ? How to fix it ?
Hello I have a problem with my Phone.
I used in my phone Nokia 8 external plain earphones philips without built-in microphones.
When i use headphones other person which I made the call heard background noise.
I think phone's mic and background noise reduction mic should still be active with this connection
unfortunately it seems that the background reduction mic is not working when i connect plain headphones. and other people can't hear me propely
It's chance to fix this?
