[Q] Can't Overclock my ACE - Galaxy Ace S5830 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i know this is noob but here i go,
Well this strange thing that bothers me. when ever i try to OC, with a OC kernel my phone's CPU drops to 600mhz.. donno why and there is no way around it. i tried to OC through CM7.2... its like Setting> Cyanogen > performance.. and there it shows only up to 600mhz. :crying: please help me... also i would appreciate if anyone could recommend a OC kernel for me.

Try SetCPU
Enviado desde GALAXY Ace S II [email protected] 2

What do you mean it drops to 600MHz?
Becuase one thing is Min and Max CPU speed and other is the current speed...
+ Which ROM you have installed?
+ How do you know it drops to 600MHz?

Try setcpu app.

Are you really have the normal S5830? Maybe you have for example cdma edition of Ace (if it exist).

Max oc is 600... Tried setcpu. No good

Oh.and I am using lewa rom with its kernel
Edit: I dug a little bit on specs and I foubd out that my ace is having a 'arm v6 compatible processor rev 5 (v61)... how could this happen. Not what I expected. :'(

[Q] Overclocking ace with SetCPU?

i got freez on my phone every try i want to overclock it via setcpu,i currently using Grif CM rom, before overclock i flash the OC kernel named ketut, and then installed setCPU.First i was try to set max to 844mhz and min to 122mhz,if i goes up my phone starts to freez after few seconds...i was seen something on youtube that it could be run on 903 mhz even on 940mhz so what's the point?
and sry for the language....
What's the point ?
The point is that all CPUs are different like humans .
Like us people , some can withstand going faster while other cannot .
It's all down to how much the CPU can do
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Yup. Listen to him.

point is u need to read a little bit more
You can try a rom based on stock instead of cm7 and try the cf-root OC kernel. Might be the same though.

Point is, buy a more powerfull phone with higher cpu....

i have s2 now hehe
Going over 844 can cause damage to your CPU. I would recommend not doing so
Yes, people have taken it to 904 and then drained full battery in about half hour.
So, if you're so unhappy, buy a new phone

Overclock to 1ghz

Why can't we have a frequency of 1ghz on our mini i'd like someone should developer a kernel which can make our phone more powerfull. Some sugestions and what do you think about it?
Do You Want To Burn Your Device ??!!!
Our Processor Cannot Handle This Frequency !!!!!!

you are crazy 1ghz in galaxy mini??? the factory frequency is 600mhz how i can put 1ghz , the galaxy ace does'nt support it.
Creed made 1ghz kernel for fit. In testing atm

haha nice one buzz!.. @razor2911 why would you want a frequency that cannot be handled by the hardware? 806 - 864 Mhz is not even stable to all.. buy a better phone..
I don't think overclock our device would burn it. correct me if I'm wrong.
if the cpu can't handle the speed, then it'll just reboot, won't it?
we already have 864 MHz overclock kernel. You should try it first (or you had try it?).

it's amazing.
you should record it.
hahahahaha..troll of the year..go buy galaxy s..1ghz stock..ROTFLOL!!!
don't wanna burn my phone buddyes i'm just asking because this phone galaxy 3 can be overclocked to 1000mhz and over and the processor has a freq of 667mhz
Max of arm6l+vfp are 1100mhz,
safe or disrange are 25 to 40%
so 600mhz are safe side.
787mhz are safe ranges.
910mhz are Turbo feature triggered on.
note: not all galaxy mini had that Turbo feature.
pocible if devloping one auther i explain creat a virtual cpu like virtual RAM it's pocible but result of this i don't know

galaxy sl supports overclock up to 1.8ghz, then i think that galaxy mini supports oc up to 1.0ghz
sorry for my bad english
Lol, if you really need powerful processor, you should have bought better phone ;p im happy with oc to 710mhz (stable, quick enough, and safe to use)
Lol whhy spend more money if cheap phone can be fast as much.

What ??!!?!?!
1GHz??
800 MHz = unstable system
1 GHz = hmmmmm. Fire???
Its kernel 1GHz for GMini and CM 7.1
My fit is stable at 864 aaaaand want moreeee

Best Way torna Overclock?

Hi everybody. I have just seen the first benchmarks of the new galaxy s3 and I have been very impressed about them. Now I would like to try to overclock my note, but I'm a noob using tegrak Overclock. It has too many parameters for me, in fact I prefer setcpu, but I've read that tegrak us better for the note.
Is there anyone who can explain me how to set tegrak overclock in the best way?

Don't push it more by over locking... SGN share the same CPU with the SG2 but clocked to 1400 so its somehow over locked already.

Is there any downsides with underclocking?

I noticed there is a CPU control in "ROM Toolbox". I was thinking about underclocking it to 1.2 Ghz.
So my question is, are there any downsides with doing this except that the phone getting a little bit slower?
EDIT: Does it matter with what app i underclock? Setcpu or ROM Toolbox..
Stock kernels does not support this tweaks

Im rooted on Speednote kernel.. My bad, should have mentioned it..
Speedmod does not support those tweaks... You need the notecore OC in order to be able to do so..
It's the same whatever app you use.. To change the frequency... Setcpu /etc

Why uc it slows performance I would try and find a kernel you can undervolt that will save heat and battery because it useing less voltage
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Put it this way. I am running Android 0.8 with the matching kernel (can't remember name) but that UC the graphics I believe and also has options to have min / Max speeds on CPU.
My Max speed is ALWAYS set to 800mhz. I'll be honest, I don't really notice any massive lag or slow down, the odd moment here and there when loading apps or taking a photo, but nothing major.
Battery life is a lot better when underclocked obviously. Give it a try, you may find it perfect for your requirements... it certainly is for mine.

Underclock under 200mhz has some downsides regarding performance/battery consumprion. U should checj the notecore kernel (hydra kernel) and search in there gavin's explanation

Well, i planing on just underclokcing my MAX speed (1.4 Ghz) down to 1.0 or 1.2 Ghz..

Hi Rivan =) ..if you from some reason just want to underclock to 1.0 or 1.2 you can safely do that with rom toolbox or setcpu. There should not be any downsides from doing it in any of those two apps as far as I know, except for that your phone will become a little slower as you mentioned yourself.

Depends on why you are underclocking.
If you are looking for better battery life then you are better off flashing HydraCore (formerly NoteCore) as this is an undervolted kernel, then selecting a low drain governor using ROM Toolbox Pro.

[Q] How to Undervolt My note1..?

hi, friends Do anyone Know how to Undervolt my galaxy note1 running latest omni 4.4.4 with raw kernel r6...?What are the best values with respect to the clock rate to get good battery life and reduce overheating ? Please get me an answer...
These values work fine for me. But each cpu has different values. So expriment by urself and tell me. Btw i am on stock 4.1.2 jb rom and forest make 2 kernel. And i am using setcpu for undervolting. Best of luck.
