Yes. Max 1GHz. And you should disable background data to save power.

I mean overclocking to 1.2GHz or more.
Also I was asking if there are any tweaks to make battery life like Zeus for example.

I think you have not tried Zeus ROM 6.39, not Zeus v7
Overclock is not possible in stock ROM (limit 1Ghz)
In Zeus, you can overclock up to 1350 Ghz (but phone will be burnt)
1100 Ghz overclock and 300 underclock is Recommended for better battery backup..
I am using Zeus 6.39 ROM, I am having 3 days standby with very limited calls
press THANKS button, if I helped you..

I already tried Zeus 6.39 before but I'm using stock ROM for language issues.
There has to be a way to increase battery life in stock ROM.

Well... there is a kernel that u can use to overclock to 1.3 Ghz in the stock rom.
heres the link to the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1723397
Thank proxyq, hes the guy who made the kernel
Use setcpu or other overclock apps to manage ur cpu frequencies
setcpu have profiles that u can manage to save battery
Idk if u are still looking for a way but... here u go!

SetCPU on o2x, MIUI

Greetings Forum
I read that I could underclock my CPU for longer battery times with setCPU, however it asks me for what device and gives me a list of.. Stuff.
Which one do I choose?
I'm on MIUI, does the kernel allow over/underclocking?
Kind Regards

stock kernel can do underclocking i think.
you can choose the option Tegra, i did this with setCPU aswell
Thank you will try this
I've got it set to 600 max 200 min, is this ok? I'm not quite sure how all of this works, pretty sure this is underclocking (y/n?)
However, will this give me more batterylife?

no no no...
neoblaze not support miui..
look he is on miui right now..
if u apply neoblaze on miui and u will get bootloop..
im on miui and i use vorkkernel..
Sorry, wrong quote.. It was a reply to -Lovin'you!- post.
On miui or cyanogen vorkkernel is the best, for stock rom you had to use neoblaze or swiftextreme
On MIUI (which is based on Cyanogen Mod) use VorkKernel
On Stock and and Modaco Custom Roms (and other roms based in stock) use Neoblaze or Swiftextreme.
These allow overclocking. And I suggest you trying to use Pimp My CPU.

[Q]Overclock

Is there a overclock already or is anyone working on it?
Is this cpu overclockable ? And how much ?

up to 1.2 ghz but not sure if there is a kernel for gb. on froyo though you can go up to that number safely
Maybe something changed since then..
Is there a way to overclock the OB on GB?
No, new nova kernel promised oc but it is delayed.
Zeus v6 has one
Sent from derp-mobile
Yes with zeus you can but use with caution the overclock is bad for android you reduce the life time of phone
Sent from LG-P970
i'm running zeus v6 right now..
going to try the overclock, just for fun..
already tried 1100 mhz, nice increase on benchmark but the feeling is the same..
just going to try some speeds but will probably stay on safe speed.
I did overclock with zeus V6 up to 1.2 GHz, but the maximum is 1.3 ghz, but not appropriate to use this speed, I think ...
But the difference is not much.
With oc and antutu i've 2997 score
Sent from LG-P970 using zeus v6 1,1Ghz
Guys I'm quite new to oc, previously I just tried it in nova so I just want to ask if it can do some to damage to the phone on long term basis? Or basically it is safe as long as you stay in the safe range ( 1.1-1.2)?
processor
U used nova for some time and i even overclocked mine to 1.2 after i used cm7 for a long time and about 3 monts ago my phone sudendly dont pass of LG logo i tried everything including kdz method and nothing work, i send it to warranty when he came the girl of the store say he just got a new processor, the old one didn t work, since that day i think a lot before overclock him again
You must verify the temp (°c) before o/c when the phone is too hot the o/c damage it. And i think 1,2Ghz isn't very stable.
Sorry for my english ,i'm french
Send with Zeus v6 the lightning power in you're P970
If you're on zeus go to Terminal Emulator then type su to gain superuser access, now type zeus and there it is the Zeus Script, there you can overclock and do other tweaks to your phone.
Hope it helps!

i think personally the maximum to oc zeus v6 would be up till 1250, i tried pushing it to 1300 and got bootloop
Did anyone already set it to lets say 1.2 ghz, then reboot a couple of times, since dvfs should set higher voltages then and then set an even higher frequency? Maybe this would allow you, to go even higher

yeah but with 1.2ghz i guess i saw someone having 3300+
since i got a bootloop, i stopped oc-ing
(will try in holidays)
I have it overclocked to 1180 with zeus v6, higher values make my phone to reboot and crash apps. My best score in antutu is 3038.

Of course the life of the cpu is reduced but not so much. I think it is not dangerous unless you set performance for scaling. I usually overclock it at 729 Mhz and have not problems at all

but i've try oc once with 864mhz and i found some problem that it suddenly get stopped working(hang), i try to reboot n it still the same.
will you guys tell me how to overclock to 700+ i tried using setcpu...but dont know what to do next, currently using stock ROM 2.3.6, Rooted

If you have stock, then there is no overclock for you. Usually, custom ROMs have overclock feature and apps like setcpu, nofrills, etc works on these ROMs.. You'll have to flash custom ROMs first before you can OC or you can check this page from godell:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485122
OC kernels for stock rom.. Disclaimer: Read first before you do anything. Do it at your own risk..
710 MHz is veeery safe. I only stopped my OC at 806 MHz because on 825 Mhz it was not stable.
At 806 MHz my phone do not heat up, and I didn't notice my battery dying faster.
PS: I OC my phone for more than 6 months continuously (GOvernor: LilgV2; I/O: noop). And use No Frills CPU.
I am having S5570DDKQ7 BaseBand Version, coz in thread he has mentioned not to use this for DDKQ7 version. Please post it in the thread.
as i am not able to post in thread coz i am having less than 10 posts.
thank for all

+1,
Or MiniCM7 2.2 and Tweak it with v6 Supercharge
Flash another ROM such as cm7.2, ginger DX, ginger Jv etc and overclock with cpu tuner.....729 is optimum CPU frequency.....
Xperian using xda app
I was using the same rom some days back and it was quite laggy
that was really annoying .....
I searched for a fast rom and got a rom which is truly fast and stable
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542247
you will need alfs 08 cm7 kernel for it
i reccomend you using this kernel as it is really good
Here is the link for the kernel-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340861
Download the alfs 8 kernel for cm7 only
after your done with flashing the kernel and rom and once your mobile has booted
Go in setting and click on CyanogenMod settings ..scroll down and you will find performance click on that and go to cpu settings
Change the governer to - SMARTASSV2
Change Max frequency to - 748 MHZ (not more than that your mobile will brick or crash)
Change Min frequency to-729 MHZ
and select the option set on boot
THATS IT UR DONE
Im not responsible if your mobile bricks to death or if it explodes
LOL
Nice tut..
can you tell me why the hell your min frequency is so high???
Ginger DX???????
Before I used gingerdx ..But my battery is draining quickly..SO how can i use that?
And What is the minimum and maximum CPU frequency?

U need to download 2 things from the playstore to make your phone faster : 1. Ram manager, 2. Android booster.
Your phone should be a lot faster!

if u use stock kernel then go for PrimeHD v6.0 or GingerDX v25 ( its drains battery though but is super smooth )
try Gingerxperia, altough the developmment has been stopped
im gdx user but i must say that GX has less battery consumption

It has to be the "JBX" kernel, lucize has decided to remove this file from his post for some reason, I've attached it to this post. It's based off dtrail's JBX kernel for the motorola RAZR, you can flash that kernel to the device too but I found the radio signal level would read wrong, so I have always used this one.

You need to be rooted and have a recovery installed like TWRP / safestrap, you install that kernel zip just as you install a third party ROM through recovery. If you just want GPU overclock don't bother, the increase from 307 to 384mhz only increases GPU performance by maybe 5%, it's purposely set to 307mhz stock because the GPU is bottlenecked elsewhere (ie: memory bandwidth), 384mhz increases battery drain and heat without much performance gain.

After much testing I could only get 1391mhz 100% stable, regardless of voltage settings. Could get 1.5ghz to benchmark, but never fully stable. It does speed up the phone quite a bit, but the biggest improvement is simply using a debloated ROM with every APK removed that you can.
