And there isn't a kernel with that possibility. Source code is released today, wait a week or two.

LOL
A developer is looking for beta testers for his custom kernel, he is quite well known in the DHD section
I am looking forward to it IMO kernels are as/more important than roms when it comes to performance, from my experience with the nexus 7

Hi guys. First of all, LOL for the font messing guys :victory:
Ok back to my main point, I'm currently using ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 kernel and my ROM is ARHD 3.01. My question is, how to overclock my IncS? I've tried using SetCPU, but my phone freezed after I choose one of the available governer there. Also, if possible, please suggest me the best overclock setting. Thanks.

Try the app incredicontrol or Trickster Mod
Just don't OC too much because that can cause reboots and freezes

Okay, try to go as low with the minimum as stable
With max freq I don't go over 1.2 GHz, some use up to 1.5 but that guzzles battery
For gov I use intellidemand or lionheart depending on the kernel
Sent from my HTC Incredible S

I use SetCPU with max: 1,4. Everything above freezes my device and screws battery life. gov: ondemand or lionheart

My sweet spot for oc is 1.2 max, with ondemand/lionheart gov. I don't see any need to go beyond that as all apps and games run well and smooth with that setting. However i've try max of up to 1.5 without any freezing or crash problem.
Also using oc daemon to set oc values, this eliminate lag (sleep - wake), experienced when im using oc apps such as setcpu (thanks markj for the guide)
Sent from my Incredible S using xda app-developers app

I'm running 1.5 GHz with no problems. I even got it up to 1.7 but I put it down to 1.5. If you can, after you OC, you can try run the stress test in setcpu for a bit...

[KERNEL] Stock Sense HTC Kernel 2.6.32.17

This is the latest available stock kernel (2.6.32.17-g9a2fc16) for Sense-based Incredible's. Nothing has been modified by me, it's the actual binary built by HTC. It's included in my 10/13 stock release (from a few days ago) but figured anyone on Sense may be interested in it. Before anyone asks, I don't know what's different. We don't have the source for this yet and HTC doesn't exactly provide a change log.
http://files.virtuousrom.com/inc/kernels/virtuous-kernel_stock_v4.zip
I've been running it for a few days now and it seems rock solid to me. So, experiment with it and enjoy.
Thank you ! will try.......
Thank you Sir! I will give er a go!
Thank you !!
I've been using it a couple of days now and it seems to charge faster. I was actually able to charge my phone while playing games on it which hasn't happened since 2.1.

Yes on both. The custom kernel will remain an option, albeit unchanged since source is not available yet to update it.

I'm using this on Lou's redemptive revo rom and it's sweet so far!
Works great on Skyraider 3.3 charging speeds have doubled, almost 1 percent a minute. Fast, stable, and battery life seems as good as stock 2.2 kernal...maybe even better just havent had enough time to do a full test yet.
Thanks for this.
Tired of Kings kernals always slowing down my phone and maybe with this and perflock set to be disabled on boot with SEPCPU I can keep my screen off profiles to save on some more battery life.
Just won't be able to o/c yet but not like I did much before anyway.
A bit sluggish

Overclocking our kernel

Now that we have the source code, I have been poking around the source and I think I have found the frequency table, which includes the voltages. If anyone here has experience with the Linux kernel or any experience making overclocked boot images please help us build an overclocked boot image join us on irc.freenode.net #openzio or post here.
Please keep this thread clean... it is dedicated to building an overclocked kernel.

I been waiting for someone to say this all day. I am having problems entering in the chat room, doesn't want to load on any of my browsers.
Good news cricket Zio owners, not only do we now have our first rom thanks to spz0, but in openzio development we are working hard on getting a kernel working and booting... especially Adrynalyne (I think that's right) if all goes as planned and nothing is broken we will be releasing this for all to enjoy, maybe spz0 will put it in the next rom release.

Several of us have been testing and have yet to have an Issue. You should pop by #openzio and voice issues so we can work on them .......
Personally ive run the Openzio Rom with OC included(729 Mhz run as a constant) as well as the "ExtremeZio OC Kernel at 748 Mhz. Granted 748 isnt anywhere near stable, but ive had Zero issues running at 729mhz ...... maybe you have some software conflicts?
Anyway drop by and let Spz0 know what issues youre having so he can resolve them m8
I am running the second test kernel on the list, with only 729 above 600 with no performance tweaks and only swap enabled. I started from scratch with the optimized kernel 650-748 and found it to be much less stable then the unoptimized 729 only kernel.
It seems to me that some of the optimizations are running over settings I normally have control of.
Do i have to change my phone's rom to oc? can i just open rw access and change out the kernel? I'm fairly new to all of this, and I've had nothing but bad luck lol (bricked my galaxy s)

Kernels are flashed through CWM as zip files. There is only one way to get overclocking on the Zio unless you can find the list of kernels made by Adrynalyne. And I HIGHLY DOUBT you can. So the only real option is to get OpenZio on your phone. And that takes a lot of work and know how. If you want to pursue that, start in the Easy Clockwork Mod Recovery thread in the Zio development section.

It's not that I'm not satisfied with the kernel I run, it's just that I'm certain there's some better one out there.
EDIT: What do you think of the kernel labeled Tiamat_N1-v4.1.0? From here: http://tiamat-dev.com/mahimahi/

as you can see there are a few improvements to the kernel with each update
I have been having 3G mobile network issue with CM7 base ROM. On certain location, I cannot download and make or receive calls. my 3G icon arrows show upload activities but no download happening. My ISP name (Maxis Malaysia) showing as normal. I upgraded to CM7.2, tried Kang ROM, preshoot kernel and change new SIM card but doesn't help. Anyone has any ideas on this problem? ROM or Kernel issue? Thank you.

Where can I download new governors?

Hi.
I use JellyBam in my N7000 wich come with basic governors. I would like use smartass or interactive governors... but,
where I can get it?
Its works in two core processor?
Its is dependent of kernel? Mine is CM10.1 compatible for JellyBan.

You're completely right. Governers are baked into the kernel. You can't just download them.
@op give it some time, job is still young. Once Sammy release kernel sources I'm sure kernel devs will start implementing stuff like that. Also, questions go in the q&a section.
