Google Play dissapear after flashing test rom in Boype's modded CM7 - LG Optimus Black

I had this rom Boype's modded CM7 -17.08.2012 on my OB and i flashed (as update, cache+dalvik wipe) this test version (with improve call sound quality).
Now i don't have Google Play anymore. Anyone have that problem too?
Is there a way to flash/install only Google Play??? I don't want to flash with all wipes again and loose all my apps.

Just flash gapps again

I have the same problem. Play Store gone after flashing the latest update.
Re-Flash the GAPP(s) Play Store still not there.
I'd end up having to do a clean install.

Clean Install with full wipe.
Everything good.

Hm strange. First of all, sorry for the inconvenience. When installing google apps from my ROM's aroma installer, all play store files are deleted from /system/app and /data/app and then the latest play store is copied to /system/app. It appears play store created a few dependencies earlier, which is why it won't work after updating.
Thanks for the input, I will remove the installer routine that the play store files are deleted from /data/app. I think this should fix the problem in the future.

[Q] Google Play Store w/out sim card?

So I recently picked up a cappy (SGH-i897) as a backup device.
Quickly realized it takes a normal sized sim instead of the one I've got in my GS3 (also ATT), so I have sim adapters coming.
I rooted using the corn kernal and clockwork recovery. SU is installed
Then I moved on to a different ROM -
First I wiped everything - cache, dalvik cache, full factory wipe, batt stats -
I flashed CM10 and the corresponding GApps from goo.im
No Play Store no Google anything I"m used to seeing on my GS3 with cm and gapps flashed-
So I wanted 10.1 anyway and I thought there was a possibility something went wrong with gapps -
I flashed cm 10.1 and the matching gapps again
Again still no play store - even if i manually install the play store (dl the .apk and install on the phone) it loads up and crashes instantly
Tried clearing the app's cache and clearing the app;s data - it just does the same thing - it pops up on the screen for a sec and dies
So my big ? is - Is this problem linked to me not having a sim card in the phone? Will the play store only work if you have one?
Any help is appreciated...
Android Market?

Rather than Google Play, your ROM probably has Android Market.
To get Google Play, it may be as simple as opening Android Market, which will tell you that you need to update to Google Play, which it will do for you. If not, then you need to download and the APK from somewhere. (Like here: http://www.droid-life.com/2012/03/06/download-new-google-play-store-version-3-4-6/)

No, he should be using Google Play since he's on Jellybean ROMs. If he was on Eclair/Froyo/GB I would say yes.
The fact of the matter is Play Store should be included in the gapps package you flashed and shouldn't be affected by whether you have a sim card installed or not. I would suggest verifying that you downloaded the correct gapps for the version you are using. If you did download the right one, maybe it was a bad download so try again.
thanks for the responses folks
i got gapps from the same place i got them from when i rooted and flashed cm to my gs3
goo.im
there's a chart on there that i used that shows you what gapps correspond to your version of cm
i'm on cm10.1 (kernel 3.0.54-geedcf0c) based off of android 4.2.1 and gapps -jb-20121212
anyone know if what order you flash it in makes a diff?
i flashed gapps first both times - right before cm
i will flash it again if someone thinks it will make a diff - not sure if i need a wipe and everything first or i can just do it
keep in mind - i actually google play in my apps tray - it just crashes every time i attempt to launch it

I would think gapps is a package of apk's mostly, and so flash only after everything else just like you would regular apps ( if you would be able to reach them..)

Glad you got the other stuff working. To answer your last question, technically yes that's all you have to do. I say technically because sometimes during a flash you can loose your imei or a couple other things.
But start by just trying to pop it in and if it doesn't work we can trouble shoot from there.

[Q] Not sure which gapps should be available after flashing custom ROM and gapps

Hi folks,
I've had a good search around but not managed to figure this one out. I've just flashed CM10.1 first nightly and gapps-jb-20130301 using cwm 6.0.3.2 on my M7 (Orange UK, HTCDev unlocked). I followed the instructions on codeworkx' thread, doing a factory reset/wipe after flashing.
Now the phone works great, and the gapps install obviously did something, because I have Play Store installed. However there don't seem to be any of the other standard Google apps installed. I had to install Play Music, GMail, Chrome, Maps, Youtube myself, and I can't find Car Home anywhere. I was expecting to have to install some of the apps which are available in the Play Store, but things like Car Home aren't available in there.
Does anyone know if this is supposed to be the case? Or is there some way I can check if the gapps install went wrong somewhere (there was no error message in the cwm console)?
Thanks in advance,
Jon

Hmmm... Looks like the right gapps but to be sure here is the link from CM http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip but looks good. You should have Gmail and youtube maps and navigation. Don't know for sure about car home but sounds right. Try reinstalling it. After wipe the cache. If it still isn't working try install Team Win Recovery and then flash gapps again and wipe cache.
Thanks for the help. I downloaded it again and the MD5 is the same as the one I installed. Tried flashing it again with the same results, so maybe it's something specific with this version. Anyway I'll carry on for now because the phone is setup and happy for a bit. Most of the Google apps I can get from Play Store anyway. Would like to get Car Home going at some point though. Next time I wipe the thing I'll try with Team WIn.
The newest gapps for 4.2.2 do not install any apps besides the play store and play services. That's it. Everything will need to be downloaded thereafter.

I see, so seeing as Car Home isn't in the store, any ideas where to find it? I found an older version in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257329 but I presume there'll be a more updated one for 4.2.2 somewhere.]
Thanks for the info.
Just to follow this up, the package in the above link works fine so far.

I just looked at my phone (CM 10.1) and I have no Car Home.
Just checked on my mate's Nexus 4 with 4.2.2 and he doesn't have it either, so I guess that's that one answered

Which version did u update from and what to?
More than likely, you will need a different version of google apps. To do this you will have to flash from the cwm recovery once you hasve the right gaps. Also i would highly recomend a factory restore in settings afterword. I always factory restore after an update if going from one vrrsion to annother and not a fresh install

Did you try reinstalling the play store -> http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...-play-store-activity-iap-indicators-and-more/
Download .apk and install from cm file manager in the apps list. You'll need to enable settings -> security -> unknown sources before installing.
Perhaps it will work after that.
Or you can reboot into recovery and flash the gapps again. Flash gapps for the version of cm you use.
Otherwise, you should make full backups in the recovery before installing an update so you can roll right back.
Or you can wipe and do a clean install.
I've never tried installing an older update but if you want to see if that works or crashes and burns then there's an option too. That won't bring back play store though

[Q] I messed up my Google Play Services - need help

Hi there, I messed up a bit
Im on CM11 M11 Snapshot, Unlocked bootloader on my SP and I caused a problem with Google Play Services, I tried to integrate the updated APK into the system partition using Titanium Backup, it froze and couldn't finish the operation and now I cant seem to get onto the Play Store to update services. Ive tried clearing data/cache for Play Store, Services, and account manager, Ive tried removing my Google account and re-adding it (Didn't work at first, but now I'm signed in) and Ive tried removing those 3 apps and then re flashing the Gapps package but there is always an error with Google Play Services and it requires an update from Play Store but it cant connect to it because of the problem Ive created with Services.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I don't want to wipe my Data partition / do a factory reset as Ive spent the past week setting up the phone and getting all the apps back that I needed.
I have been in the same way, messed my gapps so bad that one day. The fix is easy. All you need to do is wipe the system, and then flash the gapps again. No need to wipe data.

Wait? What? Won't kill boot/bootloader/rom doing that?
However I've the same problem: play services (all google apps, drive, maps, youtube) stopped to work. They start but can't connect to google account.
So I tried clearing its data and cache, but nothing. I removed the account and now I can't create it anymore: it says there's a problem communicating with google servers.
Install apps from playstore site, gives a 906 error.

No, it wont kill the ROM. But beware, you will need to reflash the ROM zip and gapps.
I didn't mention it in the quoted post, but that guy understood me lel
Well, I was pretty sure. XD
I'll backup, install rom, gapps, reboot, rom update, reboot
I'm really start to hate the play services ahahah

Play Store Issue

Suddenly, my Play Store started downloading and installing only one app at instance. Like, you download and install an app. Then it finishes downloading the next app, but it doesn't install it. You close the Play Store, open it, the app installs, another starts downloading but no sign of installation going on after the download has finished. How can I fix that?
