Bionic > Eclipse 3.0 - Stuck on Bootstrapper - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hello XDA,
I need your help! I'm trying to upgrade my Bionic to ROM Eclipse 3.0. My Android version is 2.3.4 and 5.9.905.XT875. It's currently rooted via this method, (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810373) using moto-fail GB. Next, I'm following these steps to load the Eclipse ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327695) but I'm stuck. I have the ROM on my SD card and I'm supposed to use Droid Bootstrap to "Reboot Recovery" and wipe data, and install the new ROM. I'm aware that there are 3 bootstrap apks available?. I've used Droid X Bootstrapper by Koush, Droid 2 Bootstrapper by Koush, and System Recovery by Tenfar. Koush's Boostrappers restart my android and does not bring me into recovery mode. It boots like normal. Tenfar's Bootstrapper reboots me into the splash loading screen and it freezes there. I have to do a battery pull reset to get back into my phone. I have unknown sources and USB debugging checked under applications. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
TLDR; Can't get into recovery mode via bootstrapper to load new ROM.

If you go to eclipserom.com under the bionic section nitro has his own recovery apk. Try that.

Thanks. It worked. I'm loving eclipse so far. Fast and smooth.

[Q] Installing a Peter Alfonso ROM?

Ok so i have a stock rooted droid 1 on frg83g 2.2.2. I used soup or root to root my phone and I want to flash Peter Alfonso's 2.3.5 or possible 2.3.4 since 2.3.5 is a beta. The problem is that when I go into recovery mode and try to flash the rom it installs then reboots and continues to loop in reboot. so i get the motorola symbol then i get the droid and then the red eye and then it loops back to the droid and gives me the red eye again.
So my question to all of you is what am i doing wrong? I made a titanium backup of my apps. Downloaded the file given by peter alfonso's site. dropped it onto the root folder of my droid. from there i went into rom manager which has clockwork mod recovery on 2.5.01. so i go into recovery and then make a nandroid backup. after that i found the file after going into install .zip from sd card. then the phone goes into the rebooting like i mentioned before.
Do i need to rename the file or clear any of the caches? HELP IS SO MUCH NEEDED!

Did you wipe data/cache/dalvik-cache before flashing?

Any luck getting the rom working yet?

Yeah I finally got it to flash. I had to wipe phone and reset it. Only problem I am having is the LED light which does not come up when i have a new text message. I am using go sms. I'm also having the problem of my battery running down so quickly. IDK what to do about that?
Any idead to fix these problems?

clockwork recovery on Droid 3

i have ROMmanager, it says CWR I'd installed and up-to-date, but i can't load into it. when i use RM's "Reboot to Recovery" my d3 just reboots back into Android. when i try X or M while hitting the power button, i get the stock recovery. am i doing something wrong here?
you need a bootstrapper to get in it. Install hashcode's tweaked bootstrap(google it) or even better safestrap, available on hashcode's blog http://hash-of-codes.blogspot.com/p/android-downloads.html

Failure to Update CM10

Currently my D3 is on Steel Droid 4.8 Gingerbread (5.7.906). Yesterday I have downloaded KEXEC-cm-10-20121103-UNOFFICIAL-solana.zip and gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip. Then I tried to update to CM10 but although the steps went smoothly, I figured that I was still on Steel Droid after the reboot.
Here are the steps I have followed:
1. Rooted the phone
2. Installed D3 SafeStrap
3. Installed recovery
4. Started the phone in recovery mode
5. Wiped data/cache
6. Wiped dalvik cache
7. Installed CM10 update
8. Installed gapps
9. Rebooted phone
10. Still have Steel Droid 2.3.4
Any suggestions ? Thank you very much in advance for your help.
I added to your list , someone correct me if I'm wrong, and sorry if it is.
Also its been recently discovered that if you don't have a sim card or it's not inserted properly the radio will not work on kexec builds it will be stuck on airplain mode unless your on gsm then there are two settings that need to be changed. Hopes this helps.

Create a rom slot
Activate rom slot
Install rom
Install apps
6. Wiped dalvik cache (I did five times, not sure if needed that much)
9. Rebooted phone on safe system (ss3 should be green font when you boot)
10. Should be on the rom you flashed
Any suggestions ? Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Did you install safestrap 3.05? And also what do you mean by installed recovery? Because safestrap is the recovery.

Don't see that you activated a Rom Slot to install CM10.

Thank you all. Your suggestions worked like a charm. But I found it very unstable and reverted back to stock rom. I did not care that the camera did not work. But, I could not receive calls when the phone's screen was black. As soon as I went to home screen, it started to receive calls but some processes stopped when the phone started to ring.
Do you know any stable 2.3.5 roms ? I assume we need to wait more to get a stable JB on Droid 3. Still, I appreciate the great efforts by the people working on this project . Unlike Motorola, at least they are trying to do something for a phone released just a year ago. This is the first and the last Motorola phone that I would ever buy.

[Q] Bionic SafeStrap 3.11 wont load recovery

Hello Folks,
I have a Droid Bionic Running 98.72.22XT875.Verizon.en.US (The stock JB update rooted)
I FXZ'd this onto the phone, so there are no files from the ICS install.
With SafeStrap 3.11 installed, including recovery I see the option to choose Menu to boot into the recovery, but when I press it the device just boots like normal.
I'm not sure if it is misreading my press, or if the recovery is not bootable.
IS there a new version, or is there a way I can boot into SS without using the button?
Can anyone help me out?
Thank You,
-Dacooter
Why haven't you removed & reinstalled Safestrap yet? Safestrap 3.11 works fine with JB on my phone, and I put JB on my phone with an FXZ.
I have tried re-installing SafeStrap.
I've even tried Differend APK downloads.. no luck.
Hey Folks,
I got this all figured out.
I flashed Via RSD one more time, then rooted without modifying the stock ROM at all. now it is working.
Thanks,
-Dakotah
Same problem as starter
So I'm having the same problem as the person who started this thread. I've tried SafeStrap 3.11 about 5 times and no luck. I've reflashed it using the RSD Lite tool about 5 times flashing it with http : // sbf. droid-developers. org/cdma_targa/list.php and still had no luck (of course i'm using the JB edition named "9.8.2O-72_VZW-22 Blur_Version.98.72.22.XT875.Verizon.en.US" )
Every time I press the Menu button when SafeStrap pops up it boots like normal. I can't seem to get this fixed. I tried CWR twice, made a backup, and both times the OS said "Encryption" was bad and I needed to factory reset. Only fix was using RSD Lite.
Any ideas? Should I try to manually flash recover.img?

Clockworkmod can't flash roms

Hey all,
I've been searching all over for the solution to this problem and I haven't been able to find any sort of solution and all my attempts to google have been in vain. I've been having problems installing any rom from clockworkmod. I have a droid bionic with the system version, 98.72.22.XT875 the android version is 4.1.2. So I was originally trying to get the pacman rom on my phone. I flashed a clean jellybean rom from RSD and then I used bootstrap and rom manager to flash clockworkmod recovery. However every time I tried to install the pacman rom I get an error that says something similar to E: system cant find *blank* file. When I reboot my system after this the phone says that I've lost encryption and it wont allow me to access the phone anymore. So I tried downloading the cryogen mod off of rom manager and I had the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
You cannot use bootstrap with the jellybean firmware on a bionic, you must use safestrap. It is the only currently working recovery.
Clockworkmod doesn't work either (as far as I know.. Is there even a build for the bionic?)
Clean again with an fxz, root, install safestrap app, install recovery through the app, reboot to safestrap, create a ROM slot, install your ROM to that slot, and all should be good.
(The reason your attempts were in vain is because the boot loader is locked, thus some boot-time patching and workarounds must be done)

Safe strap works great. Boot manager is supposed to work also, haven't tried it yet.
