My x8 has rooted .and Xrecovery installed .but when i try to install any stock rom. it stopped in sony ericsson logo. then i have to flash my x8 again .How can i solve this problem?
Any stock rom? What roms u installed?
Install latest baseband and try
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk 2
Before installation check whether that rom is for stock kernal not any other kernal. U can read it from the instructions of that rom.
And fully wipe data in x-recovery before installing any custom rom.
Here are some roms compatible with stock kernal
Gingerdx v28
Kuyadroid 4.5.4
Gingerxperia
Officially corp via W8
flash latest baseband(xxxx15)
check for what kernel is the rom you want to install(if you havent unlock the bootloader, you need those that tell stock kernel)
full wipe and wipe dalvik before installation(some roms require after, see at the thread of the rom you want to install, most of the roms need before the installation)
check all requirements..
your phone baseband must be xx015 (download)
make sure your xrecovery working well
use latest kernel n ROM
I guess it is a basebrand issue flash xx015 basebrand

On my Sony Ericsson W8 I can't install kyuaDroid, GingerXperia, MiniCM and etc. I can only install GingerDX and FroyoBread. When I try to install the roms which I mentioned above all (except GingerDX and FroyoBread) are giving error like this " This rom is not compactable with your baseband. Update first to M7XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015".
But I have the SAME baseband.
How to solve it ?
My W8 is rooted and has Unlocked bootloader. What should. I do ? I should change kernel ? Or something?
As I'm a noob I don't know How to solve this.. So please help me as soon as possible.
Wow, no one replied? I'm having the same problem mate...

some roms need to be installed with cwm not xrecv, and custom kernels too, perform a fullwipe before and after flashing any rom
I found the same problem. I use CWM and it works for me fine in installing different ROM's

Alfs kernel or nAa kernel are pretty good. GingerDx is my favourite ROM.
Well your bootloader is unlocked so either of the kernels have CWM recovery installed (xRecovery is pretty much obsolete). "craking bootloader" is legal to do this. An advantage of having Android. Most phones come these days with there bootloaders unlocked.
This is nAa description of how to install his kernel found on his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350484

it mean :
- Download the kernel .ftf file and move it to Flashtool\firmwares so that Flashtool can pick it up
- Flash the kernel via Flashtool (turn off phone, press back button, connect your usb phone cable to computer, see led in your phone blink green, then release back button. flashing should be running.. wait until finished..
- unplug your usb phone cable
- turn on your phone.
Hi. I'm now on stock kernel. Android 2.2 .
But if i just flsah one from they ZIP , i will got
another kernel without Flastool ?
sorry for bed english ;/
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437913
Nope. The flash ZIP is just a patch to 2.2 Roms works with custom kernels.
To install a new kernel, you have to unlock bootloader and install through FlashTool, and then flash a ROM and the patch.
No. That would virtually be impossible. When you flash a Rom , you only get the Rom.you get a kernel only by flashtool. Hope it helped

Hey, I wanna to get back to 2.3 from MiniCM9 (nAa) and I don't know If I should first change kernel to standard, or first ROM to 2.3. Can somebody tell me?

First change rom to 2.3 then flash the appropriate kernel.
I don't think it really makes a difference, just that one is slightly less risky than the other.

Kernel then rom, if it's rom 1st then you MIGHT have to reflash the rom anyway

No need for reflash of rom in any circumstances... point is entering flash mode to flash correct kernel is much more doable and likelier to succeed than entering a kernel embedded recovery to flash a rom.
Hence rom first, then kernel.

Hmm... Who to trust?
I'm curently on nAa ICS kernel and his MiniCM9, and want to get back to Achotjan Semc Debrand Engine 2.3 with nAa 11 kernel
From my experience there is no difference at all because the kernel you wanna flash has a recovery and gives you the option to flash your rom. For example when I wanted to revert back to stock without using seus I flashed the rom first and then the kernel because if I did otherwise my device would be softbricked. I hope I made my self clear. The choice is up to you. But I like flashing the kernel first;-)

Ok, so I tried now with kernel first -> that doesn't work, now I'm going to check with rom first
you cant build a house without foundation! flashing the kernel first is only proper way to do this!
1.put 2.3 Rom in SD
2.flash a kernel
3.on 1st boot(at kernel logo)push back button rapidly to enter cwm
4.make a full wipe and install 2.3 rom
5.done

Hello all XDA members,
I have very specyfic problem. When I flash some custom kernels, especially Alfs for GingerDX v08a + GingerDX v25, nAa-11/-13 + MiniCM7 or other GB ROMs (read twice, Gingerbread only / naa-ics works fine with nAa's CM9) my phone is rebooting at kernel bootlogo. I tried to restore to stock Eclair, relocking bootloader but problem is still the same.
Update
Now I can't install custom ROMs also in stock SE kernel. What the hell is going on?! Begin was a few days ago, when I couldn't run phone with nAa's kernel and ROM. Then, after a day, there was a same problem with GingerDX on Alfs v9. Next - GDX on Alfs v8a > MiniCM9 on nAa-ics > All ROMs with custom kernels > Now = all custom ROMs, working only Android 1.6 and 2.1.
Have you full wiped ?

wweewww...strange
had u follow the instruction step by step??
backup all your data n apps first, then
try to downgrade it first by flashing the X8 E15i 2.1.1.C.0.0._un.ftf
root
unlock BL
Flash the latest kernel
backup
factory reset, wipe batt, etc (important)
Flash ROM
Done!
flash nAa for miniCM - alfs for GDX
Yes, I do. Full Wipes, Flashing stock kernel & ROM etc.. Now I tried HACKDROID Floyo v0.3 + Alfs v7 + Fix for Alfs = also doesn't work.
Now it happens on any custom kernel, also nAa-ICS. I don't want to stay at stock. Maybe option "Exclude kernel" in Flashtool will help? I don't know what is it and I don't want to brick my X8.
Edit - I've updated title and 1st post because of new problems.

BASEBAND is the problem, after upgrade to stock you will have 06 and you need 15 - took me last 2 days to figure it out again Otherwise you will have just kernel bootloop
I've updated my baseband, and it works!!!
Thank you XDA communicate - You are awesome!
