Need bone stock firmware for my at&t galaxy tab SGH-i987. Searched the forum and all of the links don't work. Please help! Thanks.
can I ask why you need it?
It is such a dated and crippled version.
Are you selling it so you need stock rom?

Just want to go back to stock, plus might sell it soon...
can't help much.
branded stock rom is hard to get.
Just thought if you just want to restock, in which case I recommend using Overcome method.
You can even try our ICS or even JB rom.

This should be the stock firmware. I haven't tested it though.

Thank you...
I didn't realize there was a newer firmware for it though... i believe i had the jj7 one (p1000UGJJ7) or somewhere in the JJ range.. lol.
I will grab that right away.
Thanks!
Can you comment on whether JM7 is the correct firmware for Bell users? I need to submit mine for warranty, too.

I dont' know if it is... I did go from a JJ firmware (can't remember if it was 3 or 7) directly to roto's jme.
According to samfirmware, there is the jj3 and then it goes to jm9.
At least these are for the "americas" versions.. i don't recall my tab being named p1000L, although it probably was..
No, the L version is for Latin "Americas" so that version is likely not for Bell users. I am fairly sure the stock Bell firmware is JJ7 which isn't available for some reason on Samfirmware.com... Is it possible for someone to use RotoBackup to dump a stock (or rooted stock) JJ7 and us use that to restore to it?

Ahh that explains it.. thank you.
I presumed then that our bell tab's were P1000M (as is the Galaxy S being an M).
Let's hope someone has a bell stock roto backup.
I just bought one today to try out. I've already installed Apps and such. But I can reset it then do this roto backup. What are my steps, I won't lose root if I do a factory reset right, but do I need to do that?

Hi there.
That's great, thank you!
If you do a quick search for rotobackup, that will explain how to do the backup.
Here's the Link to Rotobackup.
You have to be rooted to do the backup.
I don't believe you will lose the root, although its not hard to re-root
I haven't done the backup myself but will attempt to so I can do the next upgrade.
thanks again!

**** sorry, forgot to do this earlier. I just returned the tab back to the store. Again, sorry
I should have a backup of a mostly vanilla (few apps, that sort of thing) Bell tab from Dec. I'll have a look tomorrow when I'm back on my office computer.

Much appreciated.
Any update on this? I'm desperate here.
Well, I had a look at my backup and it's not completely vanilla (rooted, couple apps) but if it'll help, I can package it up and upload it somewhere. Let me know. Sorry it took so long, it was on a portable drive that I'd loaned out, thought I had it on my desktop as well!

Hey there.
That would be great. In fact once reflashed we can always do a factory reset.
I'm not sure how big it would be nor do i know where one can send the file. Perhaps that multiupload site. Ive never used it so i dont know off hand.
Really appreciated!
Thanks!

I have a rooted Bell SGT with some applications installed. Let me know if I can be of any help. I haven't done a device backup or anything like that before, although I do a lot of this on BlackBerry devices - it won't be difficult for me.
Anyway, let me know if I can be of any help!

One little thing I just thought of, I performed a carrier unlock already. Will this be a problem?
Hi everyone.
I have a european GT-7000 with 2.3.6 and kernel version LC1.
I have read the rooting guides, I do understand them, but what I want to do is get off off this rom altogether. Can I just use pc odin to flash a different rom, or follow the steps all the way through with this rom, and then switch after it is rooted.
This rom has polish gps etc... which does me no good, as I don't speak polish, or read it either.
If I missed a thread about this I do apologize. I have been reading for 5 days now, and I'm not sure. This is only my second Samsung phone. Have been rooting since the first android phones, but not understanding this one too well.
Thanks in advance.

How do i check with one i need? I really dont know it all affects my phone, please advise.
Thanks.
When you do not know what you need, we should walk 2 steps back:
What do you want?
- Stock ROM ICS for a specific country and carrier?
- Or a Custom ROM (all with english language support, so this shouldn't be a problem for SA)
What do you have now?
- GB 2.3.6?, Rooted? Stock or Custom?

I have stock GB rom 2.3.6 unrooted. I would like 4.0.4, any carrier is fine. It wasnt a big deal on my previous s2.
If it is possible to flash a custom rom on unrooted phone with ordin then that would be nice.
Thanks for your help.

So, this isn't a torrent question anymore.
First of all: With a N7000 it is a big deal because you can easily brick your device - happened to really many people - because of an error in a specific chip in our Note.
So please be very careful and - the boring part - read the stickies and follow the advices/warnings in nearly every thread.
Second: Dr. Ketan wrote some very good tutorials how to get from 2.3.6 unrooted to a Stock or Custom ICS (both rooted). Read them and you will succeed.
Start with a prerooted GB (like LC1) and Chainfire's "injected" kernels. From there you can get to a rooted stock ROM with Mobile Odin Pro or you can choose other ICS Custom Roms. CM9/CM10 ROMs need different approaches.
I will not give the links here, because I hope you like to search these threads yourself, they are not far away

Hello, I just got a new i9070.
Since it comes with Gingerbread, I want to upgrade to the leaked Russian JellyBean ROM.
However, before I proceed to flash it, I would like to be able to go back if needed and odin-flash the exactly same stock ROM that it has now. Something like the info in this thread, but with the blocks for the i9070.
Anyone can help me? Thanks!

Note down your firmware version and go to sammobile.com and search it there, I was able to get stock ROM of my country successfully from there.
FYI: They upload files on Hotfile, and downloading is a tough job, be patient.
I want to install a custom rom for my SGS GT-I9000 and just to be ready, in case a bootloop occurs, I want to download a stock firmware to reset my phone and I'm thinking should I download 2.3.5 or 2.3.6?
I'm running XXJVS baseband. Can I use any other stock firmwares as long as its in the designated country? I check the firmware of my phone and its in Europe. So, can I?
I'm a noob. Sorry for having small knowledge about this.
Please help. Thank you.

I didn't get mad on you but on the other guy. I've spent on XDA forum so much time trying to help people in need or to prevent unbricking and then I see such careless posts around.
Good luck and fun with your new ROM
