Hi all,
I've been missing the s-pen writing hand setting since stock-samsung-gb-days...
I've finally found the setting for CM9 & 10 (possibly AOSP/AOKP/MIUI/..., this needs to be checked)
If some dev with far greater abilities than I could write an interface for it, possibly get it merged into gerrit in the cm9 galaxy note settings app
In terminal, as root, type:
echo "0" > /sys/class/sec/sec_epen/epen_hand (For lefthanded setting)
echo "1" > /sys/class/sec/sec_epen/epen_hand (For righthanded setting)
The change is effective instantly, and stays until next reboot;
I have added the command in a script (/data/local/userinit.sh), so the setting is set after each reboot.
Have fun :highfive:

No, and I can't tell you how happy I was to read your post.
I tried using touchscreentune and it only kinda worked.
I don't think there are many of us, though.

You need root permissions. i.e. running 'su' in terminal monitor.
Genius! I've been rotating my phone upside down.
I also added it to userinit.sh, it's easy since vi is installed by default in CM10.
Thank you so much for this! I have been waiting for a replacement for touchscreentune. Now PA is perfect.

YES!
nice find, also the option has been in miui for quite so time..
finally! i'm left handed and using spen with righty hand on cm pissed me off..
This is the reason why i didn't use CM because of S-Pen.

thanks!
dont exist s-pen in CM? any alternative¿
Excuse me but i just dont understand this command functionality on cm based roms.. Could you tell me what is the use of this? Thanks

Typical s-pen has offset prepared for right hand= you can't use it with left hand because o huge offset.
When you type command from first post, offset will be mirrored, so it will be good for lefties
Thanks!

The commandline works on LiquidSmooth JB RC 3 (with HydraCore 4.3b)
But I've placed the userinit.sh file in /data/local/ and that doesn't seem to have any effect...
Am I doing something wrong, or is this kernel or rom related?

Full version of AOKP JB using tiny's/chad's incredikernel synced and compiled from source
Uses only AOKP, and...
missing components from Evervolv
incredikernel source from tiny4579
and my HTC Incredible device tree
Now supports OTA updating via the Goo Manager app
Removed (with my suggested replacements, if any)
SuperSU (I use Superuser compiled from source instead)
Known issues:
PREFACE: I haven't tested this as extensively as CM10, so there may be hidden bugs. It's early, and I'm going for coffee.
Currently doesn't boot. Working on it to get it fixed.
Performance settings, particularly CPU, don't stick
Watching YouTube videos causes the phone to reboot flickers occasionally
Video camera has a very low fps (it stutters)
USB Tether (and the toggle for it) FC's
anymore, let me know

AOKP (I use their manifest.xml)
Evervolv (I use parts of their frameworks and other repositories to fix qsd8k specific issues)

FAQ:
[Q] Gee, Pons, this here looks fun. How do I compile it myself?
[A]Here ya go, lil guy. Just follow these instructions: How to Compile AOKP JB for the Inc (if you encounter any issues using this to compile, please report here so I can troubleshoot and update if need be)
Why a thread? Basically, a couple of users have asked me to do this, and jellybellys hasn't pushed one out in almost two months, nor responded to his thread in even longer. I did ask him if he plans to continue support via PM, and he said yes (but is busy with a thing called life), so this is only to tide those over who like AOKP over CM10. I'll quit building them when he starts up again.
Credits/Thanks
All credit goes to Cyanogen and the rest of the CM team (who's work Team Kang borrows heavily from), and especially our HTC Incredible maintainers, as listed by the CyanogenMod site: jistone (aka CUViper/This Guy), slayher, and of course, koush. Of course, don't forget about the Evervolv team, who has given our qsd8k device a lot of love. And how could we forget Team Kang, since this is AOKP, after all
In addition, I'd like to thank Albinoman for bringing AOSP JB to the Inc first, Zimeron for bringing CM10 to the Inc first, tiny4579 for his incredikernel, and JellyBellys for bringing AOKP to the Inc first.
For some reason, I have received several requests to put a donation link in my profile. You can always donate to the CyanogenMod project or the Evervolv project or Team Kang, but if you feel you HAVE to donate to me, I've put a link in my profile, and all donations will go towards upgrading my computer, so I can stay on top of this for CM10/11/and beyond.

If anyone runs into bugs that aren't listed in the OP, (especially big ones), please let me know. If I get enough confirmations or if I can replicate it myself, I'll add it to the OP.
Also these probably won't be nightly. I'll look at how AOKP does their releases and their merges, but a tentative schedule will be I'll release when AOKP releases or if there's a lot of merges or if I fix a groundbreaking bug.
It has been running great for me; nice and responsive, stable in what I've done.
One thing that I've noticed is that for some reason, it seems that switching activities holds the possibility to cause some graphical glitches (visually similar to what we see with the camera, but on the UI). Not a big thing, and it doesn't happen every time, but I figured I'd mention it.

Hey, Pons, loving this ROM so far. it is very smooth and responsive. Any idea why performance settings (frequency, governor, and scheduler) don't stick after a reboot? They return to default even though I enabled the set on boot toggle. Not sure if it's a bug, kernel design, or something else altogether. Thanks again.
Anyone else have this problem or any recommendations? Should I be using a third party app like SetCPU?

Going to test this out, then add to bug list once I confirm. Depending on how long work takes tonight, I might or might not get a chance to fix it. It's probably a permission issue somewhere.
Edit: confirmed.

Thanks, I sure do appreciate your time, whatever the outcome... Also, just curious, is it normal for AOKP to not have a WiFi AP (hotspot) notification toggle? I found that kind of odd.

Not sure. I never really used AOKP. To double check, you'd have to look at an officially supported device (with WiFi AP capabilities) and see if they have it.

Just tossing in my observations as well, in case it's possibly related: in my instance, the ROM Control app was unable to modify build.prop to change the DPI setting. It told me that it had, but in fact the file was untouched. I just did it with ROM Toolbox instead, but ROM Control offered me no error messages or information.

Here with what is probably our final ROM for the Motorola Atrix HD, I decided to work with SirHoover2010 together on this one and put out something great (at least in our opinions!). This ROM is based on the AT&T Atrix HD 4.1.1 so it will work with AT&T LTE, for those who missed that in BatakangROM or liked that part of Joker. We tossed around names like "Bane ROM", but Batakang Rises sounded the best to end our Batman trilogy. Batakang, Joker, and now Batakang Rises.
Downloads:
ROM
GAPPS
Flash this in Safestrap over the Jellybean update kernel.
Known Bugs:
Lockscreen Music Controls Do Not Respond --- Music Controls Work On Pattern Lockscreen
On Reboot Will Say "Upgrading"
Bluetooth toggles sometimes not responsive.
Reported that MMS is not working.
Gallery force close on trying to edit picture.
Credits:
Vtwinbmx of DroidRzr.com for "24v Fixes"
Halo13 of DroidRzr.com for his inspiration from Inflikted and base for some of Batakang Rises.
Andlaw for helping us figure out some edits to framework.
Anyone else we may have forgotten. If I missed you, let me know and I will add you here.
Enjoy!

BTW Joker may make a come-back on future devices

Lock screen controls work with pattern lock screen. Must just have problems on stock android LS.
Other than that, this ROM is awesome.
Smooth and quick.
Only problem I have: I changed the nav bar icons and now I lost transparency
Any idea how to fix this?

When I change the phone info settings it goes back to default after a few days.. there is anyway to lock that settings?

I can't troubleshoot mods I did not make or endorse. You can just swap the image files in B.R. with whatever color you want and it won't change anything else though.

For the "H+" bug, its not a bug at all. In fact, it's what shows up as "4G" on the stock ROM. If you have LTE it should say "LTE" not "4G" anymore either.
I have noticed some issues toggling bluetooth but a reboot fixed it for me.
I'll look into Camera.
Thank you for your reports.
EDIT: For Camera, I don't have an sdcard in and it had no problems taking a picture or two.

Usually, the only difference is that they're built by different people. They might have small little local changes, but all in all your not really missing out on flashing on over the other.

Vanir - Android 7.1.2
vanir_mako_7.1.071917.zip
First Vanir with Android 7, which finally managed to run me.
This ROM uses the kernel lineage.
In addition, it is very underdeveloped, because it does not work properly debugging, so you can not connect through adb and install applications.
There is also no possibility of a normal apk installation (message: Package installer has stopped).
I checked and I can confirm that the navigation buttons work very well in Vanir ROM, for Nexus 4 with an inactive touch pad at the bottom of the screen.
I can add a ROM to the compatibility list.

Thank you for your attention. My opinion was premature.
I installed ROM again (the same file without re-downloading) and adb works normally.
Installation through
Settings -> Storage -> Explore
also works as it should.
Probably the first installation was damaged.
Unfortunately, I have to retract my opinion regarding the operation of navigation buttons on the inactive bottom of the touch screen.
Previously I tested on my second N4, where the inactive touch screen I have in the middle of the screen.
I have installed CM 1.2 and I hate it. The wifi is worse, all of the popular apps (Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp, etc.) are not available trough Google Play, the battery drains about 5% per hour in idle, it's buggy because it won't lock when I press the power button.
I can't find any differece between CM and JB except that CM has a bit different settings and more bugs.
How do I go back to ICS? JB sucks on P880 because the phone will get laggy due to low RAM.
If I go back to ICS, can I use my warranty for the phone or is it screwed because I have unlocked the bootloader? Is there no way to lock it again?

I did not say that CM is laggy. I tend to never get spelling errors on the CM keyboard, but on the JB stock keyboard I do a lot of spelling errors...
Anyway I hate CM because:
- Sometimes I can not lock the phone by pressing the power button.
- When the phone is locked the display will be black for 2-3 seconds when I press the power button
- My WiFi connection is weaker
Yeah, it pretty much just feels like JB but more buggy...

See, this is why I can't be arsed sticking to CM. There is so many ****ty fixes you have to do for every little problem that occurs. I just want to install a ROM that just works instantly. Like JB except that it's laggy as ****.

Ehm this here is xda, we are developers, its not easy.
If you dont want all this flashing fixing then go and stay on your sweet stock rom or buy nokia 3300...
And on stable cm theres no bugs. You have installed it uncorrectly. Dont give cm the fault. Without this fixes theres also no bugs kiddy

If your ROM is so good coded, why can you not make a guide that is easy to follow? There are so many ****ty steps and tons of different threads made by kids that you have to go through in order to install CM.
Also the battery icon is disproportionately thin. It's so ugly and looks so unaligned that I want to cry every time I see it.

You are so a kid. Its so easy, and look for youtube tutorials how to install cm !
Yeah its ugly. But in CM you can change Theme and Design. All looks like Galaxy S3 oder HTC One whatever you want. Keep your eyes open and find the Designoptions ... Cry over cm, you kid.

My first impression when trying to install CM on a smartphone is "this is messy and the documentation is bad", which doesn't increase my hope for the ROM at all... If the developers can't make it easy to install, then how good is the actual code?

to me it looks like that!
- if u cant lock the phone properly then maybe something is wrong with your gapps u used.
- if u have big latency to unlock maybe: either u run on low cpu values/ powersave or conserve governor/ homescreen is with some live wallpaper connecting to the internet to send ads and a theme thats overweight.
- wifi definately isnt weaker. maybe it sometimes shows wrong signal bars on statusbar ( for example im above my router and sometimes i see 3 bars out of 4, but checking the signal further i see that its at his maximum power ).
About cm ? yea first impression is always the tough one. even when we saw boobs for the first time when we were kids, we thought OMG those are nice. it cant everything be so easy, click here and everything is done...

Hi thanks and I might try to put stock wiz back as a option but I'm waiting for the updated ROM that mine is based on
Also thanks I'm aware the right speaker is broken now that the creator doesn't know if that problem will be fixed but again thanks for the info
Hi, dsilx!
I have installed this ROM a couple of days ago and, I have to tell you, it was the best I've tried since I started to change it. I didn't tried to use the internet and performance booster, but I'll give you my impressions about those features as soon as possible. Nevertheless, these are the points that I'm able to speak a little bit by now:
(Very) Nice Points:
-Speed (transitions are very fast and not jittering)
-Usability flow (very very smooth indeed)
-Battery usage (surprisingly economic)
Points to improve:
-Right Speaker not working (as you may already know). (But since we may encounter this issue in most of ROM's available, I guess it's not that important, even because the sound works right using my earphones)
- Sometimes, the wallpaper is show somehow disregulated, righter or lefter from the position that I've choosen before.
There's another fact important for me.. This ROM have revived my TAB 3, since it lost the efs ( I still don't know how) and recovered only by NEON CUBE ( I don't know why either), what I haven't suceed with the lasts I've tried before.
In a comparison, It's still a great ROM at the end of the day...=D
So, thank you very much for your nice job and be sure you can count on me for the tests you may need in the future!!
Peace!
Gustavo

Hi now thanks for gratitude and niceness now one thing I have to ask keep in mind I'm just a kid but I didn't understand the last part about efs etc. If u could can u plse explain its more kid friendly haha but thanks for the info
Hahahahaha....
Relax, bro, I think I didn't express myself quite clear. Pardon me for that....lol
Two months ago, I was trying another ROM and suddenly Tab begin to don't accept any ROM instalation, showing the message "Failed to mount /efs", or something like that. Then, as a lot of things need my attention at the university and my job as well, I haven't had time enought to research properly in order to directly fix this issue.
I just keep trying to put some ROM's during the rare free time I've had, always regardind the correct version (T210), but with no success (the same message occured).
But this time, with your ROM, it has simply worked and I started to scream like a little girl and run around my house, jumping and singing...lol...besides this a little bit thick lying part, I was very happy for my Tab coming back to life again, this time with a performance I've never had....=)
