I tried checking back to the notecore thread here by clicking on my bookmark in google chrome..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863
I was surprised that it gave me a totally different thread so i thought it was just a glitch.. Went back to Dr.Ketan's thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
and clicked the notecore link in his post and it sent me to the same page..
I tried looking through all the sections (General/Q&A/Development) and I cant find it or any other thread that would advise what happened to it..
So was it moved somewere? Or deleted?
Last time I visited that thread was when i got the v14.1 kernel..
Please advise where it is now.. I really want to stick to notecore since i have tried and tested it and it works perfectly for me.. I dont want to use another kernel as much as possible.. :highfive:
That is the NoteCore thread.
Gavin has released a new, universal kernel and christened it HydraCore. It works on all ICS and JB Roms, and is the NoteCore's successor.
Oh i see... I thought it was a glitch since i cant find anything that would advise the change... Anyways, thanks!!!

capitansid, I have attached the ODIN versions (.tar) of the GL Notecore Standard kernel - v10, v10.2 and v10.6. If you need the CWM versions (.zip) then do let me know.
Perhaps I could send them and the others via e-mail or instant messaging. You could send me a private message containing your e-mail address.
Happy to help!
Hi can I flash notecore kernel on my note, which is running on paranoid android rom 1.7 with hydracore kernel 3.1b?
If yes can you post up the links for the cwm ones?

by chance, you'll notecore 14 standard links, or what is the latest version of notecore?
and which is stable and for daily use:good:
last version of notecore was 14.1 and there is a 14.2 as well
although now it's hydracore and the latest version is 5.1
I still feel the 4.3b is the stable one as there seems to be some mic bug on 5.1

Guys what it the best kernel for checkrom V6?
I mean.. i want advices BUT why did you made such a choice?
For me it is Franco hands down. Tested v2, v6 and the latest 'test' one (this will become v10 tomorrow or the day after, judging by the users' comments), and all proved to be smooth, fast, stable and easy on the battery on my Note.
I would second Franco kernel also. Been using it since v6 had no problems with lag at all. Battery life with this combination seems good as well.
Now this is a good start
I have been in CF ROOT for XXLC1 but i dunno why i feel the stock kernel is a little bit lagged in menus!
Will try Franco Kernel
Thanks for your replys!

Franco 9.....pure awesomeness !! Best battery backup m getting by using it. Earlier tried Abyss 4.2 but got a high battery drain !
Go for Franco !!!
but doesn't changing the kernel change some supported features in the rom ? like ntfs support for instance ?

Check the changelogs of the kernel you are about to use it will give you all the salient features and changes that it has and can happen!
Cheers!

Yeah of course! I have it installed on my phone. just go to the inbuilt kitchen (update it to the latest version from google play store) and download the file given there under the themes section. Its version1.1 as of now. And install it in recovery !!
Cheers! Hit thanks if it helped!
I was using stock CF-Root and it was fine, but the battery drain was a bit higher vs V5 CheckROM. Installed Franco and its running great, 1.5% Per Hour idle.
was using checkrom v6 with Franco's test kernel. Seems like its draining battery more than stock. Gonna verify it over the nxt few days by using stock
Also on Franco test kernel.
Also on franco kernel v9, works like a charm. Good battery life but no as good as CheckROM v5 & franco v6
For me Franco kernel cause constant sods.
I keep trying a newer versions and still same issue. This problem doesn't occur for me on other kernels

Yeah for some of the users Franco gives sods or screen salad issue - pixelated screen while other kernels work fine for them! Thankfully works fine for me

Hi ! If there is Semaphore kernel available plssssss send me the link to download for my GB XXJW4.
Thanks!

I really dont sure if its for JW4, but someone did say today that he has semaphore for jw4.
semaphore 2.7.0 its in semaphore's site and listed as Beta
do what you feel, but installing compatible kernel in jw4 wil result in bootloops
Edit: look at #7406
thanks ! I think I will give it a miss. Firmware is great. Don't wanna mess it up.

Hi guys, iv been having some difficulty deciding what version of the hydracore kernel to flash.
Currently i am on AllianceRom with Hydracore v7 (the newest version) but on the forum and around the internet people suggest to use hydracore v4.3b for best battery life and performance.
What i don't understand is why would an earlier version of hydracore be better than the newest version. Im really confused about this.
Thanks guys

The question is do you have a problem with your rom and kernel so far?
If not, then why do you care what people talking around, everyone has their favorites
p.s. hydracore v7 have problem when recording video (if I remember corectly), other version is good.
HydraCore kernel is great kernel, and the difference from version to version is only in shades, you decide which one is better for you:good:

It has some issues as djoni_gitara said..also, stock video player does not work sometimes (MX player is an alternate)..the only reason I used Hydracore v7 with my ICS 4.0.4 was, it made my Note super smooth, compared to any other Hydracore version

I used it with Alliance ICS Final, and it is perfect kernel for this perfect ICS rom
EDIT: here you have it all... Notecore and HydraCore

what the difference between Notecore and HydraCore ???
which is better?? and can i use it with Stock ICS (XXLRT) ??
finally what the difference between these kernals and others..?
peace....
Stop shouting - using bold font isn't so nice.
Read the kernel threads and you will know what features they have and what you need.
There is no best whatever.

Yes you can use notecore and hydracore kernels with xxlrt rom.
What is the difference... try them and tell us your opinion.
Tips: Dont flash hydracore v7 (broken camera and other stuff, and you will need extra file if you want revert to other kernel, just dont flash it)
As said before, HydraCore v4.3b OC is the best combination with alliance xxlrt for me. Great performance and battery life.
And if you like, you can try notecore 14.1 (it is the latest one from notecore, and lets say the best one from notecore)
