This is all started with the older version of De-Sensed rom v.1.4 then installed Virtuous Inquisition latest rom next and recently updated the kernel from 005 Faux to 007 last week. I've been wanting to try out the De-sensed rom ver.1.5 and flashed the new kangbang kernel sr7.0. Turns out it wasn't for me.
I always wipe in between flashing roms and I didn't back up any roms at all. I just simply flash the new roms. Well anyways, I went back to Virtuous inquisition w/ faux007. Now I don't have wi-fi, not only i couldn't transfer numbers to the message app now i can't even go to the message app and retrieve the contacts. Goo manager is not even installed either.
First time installing this rom, everything was a breeze and everything went well. What happen?

Are you s off or s on? If your s on you gotta do fastboot flash the kernel...then flash the Rom...your WiFi problem is due to the fact that the WiFi lib/driver wasn't flashed...hope that helps/made sense...

And if that don't help try to reflash the Rom , I just had the same issue and that's what worked for me .
I've never had the messaging app work correctly on either the de-sensed or virtuous. Posted about it on here, but no one ever responded. If you are s-off re-wipe everything and reflash the ROM. Check the md5 sum on the .zip you've got for the ROM just in case.

Hi all,
Anybody has an idea why flashing this version on Incredible S does not work and shows a message "assert failed" (in the beginning - like it`s checking if the device is exactly what it has to be but it fails).
the MD5 of the image is okay.
Any ideas?

Which custom recovery do you have installed and are trying to flash with? You might want to try this one that was mentioned on the OP of The Virtuous thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104765
Absolutely the same one.
Now I just tried Vituous Unity 2.33.0 Beta - and had the same problem again.
It looks to me like it tries to recognize the device as a different one.
Are there any links to older versions which have different ROMs for each device?

Do you know which model of the IncS you have? There is the S710A which is the North American version for Canada/USA and the S710E which has 3G bands for the rest of the world. Since you are now S-Off and have a custom recovery installed, it shouldn't make a difference, but there is definitely something amiss since you are having issues with multiple Roms.
Have you tried downloading the rom zip files directly to your phone's SD card?
The Virtous ROM refers to the Incredeible S as Incs rather than vivo (which is it's proper name). You need to edit the update-script and folder names to give it the right name

Yes - just to confirm that this is the solution.
Same issue. Some clarification needed.
I am a newbie to this fascinating would of rooting and am a proud owner of HTC Incredible S. I rooted the phone and installed the ROM Manager. These are the issues I faced :-
1) I could not find Virtuous Unity for download there.
2) When I downloaded the Virtuous Unity 1.31.0.zip from the website, copied it to my SD Card and tried to install it.. It installed the HTC Sense 2.1 instead of Sense 3.0!
Could someone please guide me as to how to change the update-scripts and which folders to rename so that I can install Virtuous Unity 1.31.0? I would be really grateful...
Probably you didn`t do a full wipe before installing the Virtuous Unity rom.
Try resetting to factory details - that might work for you.

You should be able to just use 4Ext to flash. Be sure backup and do a full wipe before you flash.
Can you tell me why this ROM does not work in the audio equalizer?
Thanks for the replies and sorry for my bad English
If you mean srs that doesn't work in the default music app. You have to use an app like poweramp to use srs.
Thanks for the help, it worked!!!

Hi all!
I've got a little problem with Virtuous Quattro and Virtuous Affinity randomly rebooting into Virtuous logo and from there I have to pull the battery to be able and start it up again.
Never had this issue before with any other rom(s) so I dont know what to do!
When I was on Virtuous Quatro I got the tip to convert my partitions to ext3 wish acctualy helped me to go from 2-3 reboots a day too 1. But its still anoying with a random reboot a day
Now Im using Virtuous Affinity and a little while ago it did the exactly same thing... rebooted to logo and I had to pull the battery ones again.
I REALY like both of these roms and especialy quattro and would love to be able to use them w/o reboots.
If you have any clue what the problem could be, rom, app, radio, partitions etc please write a line here
Is there any application that could make a logg what happend right before it crashed?
My phone:
HTC Incredible S | Rev S-OFF
Recovery: 4EXT Recovery Touch v1.0.0.3 Beta8
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-UNITY-V10-g6b8d035
Radio: 3822.10.08.28_M
ROM: curently Virtuous Affinity v1.48.0 (Vivo)
Oh and sorry if my english spelling and grammar is bad
edit: could it be the kernel thats undervolting and my processor cant handle it? Im gonna try on Affinity to up the voltage anyway and report back when I tested it a bit
You should stick all the CPU settings in stock and see if that has any effect
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA App
same for me withe no oc
Installed oc/uv beater 2 and uped the voltage slightly. So far it's been stable and no reboots. Think it might be the problem. I'm still on affinity btw. Dunno if quattro's kernel support voltage changing.

i used to have to auto reboots on sense roms including Virtuous Affinity but now i am on Virtuous Quattro and it does not reboot. Not even once and i have been using it for days..
I have this same problem...WITH MY DESIRE HD...i know this is an Incredible S thread but when i Googled 'Virtuous Quattro Randomly Reboots' it was the first link, so i'm here. anyway, tried everything suggested and still reboots... :-(
So I'm running the ics rom from Virtuous Quattro and I can't send MMS and yes I have checked data roaming and I have unlimited MMS.
What to do?
Thanks!

Your apn settings correct? Can't send mms if it's wrong.
I have had the same issue with every ics/MIUI ics rom that I've used. Turns out that my carrier has a third apn for WAP. Soon as I configured it, I was up and away. Check with your carrier. Hope this helps.
Edit: maybe not. Only worked twice on 2g. Not on 3g.
Is the issue solved or not? If yes please edit the title to let others know.
MMS issues on IceColdSandwich
I'm also wondering if you got this sorted. I have been on the last few builds of ICS loving it but I cant send or recieve mms. Sms is fine and mobile data is fine just mms. I just formatted everything, all partitions except sd card, system, data and boot followed by the sd card for good measure. I then installed ics 7.0 error 404 (love that title by the way). On first boot went through set up excluding restoring from google back up. So no apps installed except what was with the rom. checked my apn, it matches what both a Google search, Nonverbose (and other xda folk) and Optus themselves gave me. Attempted to send via MMS a 5.04kb jpg file and... wait for it... STILL no luck! I'm loving this ICS ROM but I really don't understand why some folks just can't send mms' when others can? I may end up having to go back to Ginger bread and thats like going back to B&W telly after HD LCD lol
Anyone know of a trick that I don't????

I'll be back on kaijura's ROM in the next day or so and will have a try.
Thanks mate I put an update in there maybe ten mins ago. I noticed on Niks it had wap 2.0 as a setting in APN and its not there in Kaijura's. It is odd because I have managed to send a couple not long after flashing 7.0 again with tiamat. Then flashed vdd sent 2 then kaput. Its got me buggered, I can do a log cat but it doesnt seem to show much to me.

Hey Guys
First of all, i want to say, you do great work with your roms, i love them
My question is, that after flashing to stock ruu, to official ics update, and then to total senseless v2 with hboot 1.28 and cwm version with touch, the wifi does not work.
It says activating wifi, but nothing happens
i hope you can help me, and i aplogize if this question has already been posted somewhere, i have searched for it, but has not been able to find anything useful
with regards
Thomas
I also have the exact same problem? Did you find any solution?
Did you try to flash this ROM over GB?
My phone has this crappy wifi issue with stock ICS too
both of you, try flashing the kernel that i have posted in my MIUI rom, in first topic, vertigo kernel, you just need to be s-off before you do it
Thanks, I downloaded the kernel and flashed it with CMW but the WIFI still doesn't work.
It just says on and doesn't even scan for networks (even manually)
Here is detailed software information of my handset:
ROM: ICSense 3.0
Kernel: vertigo 3.0.16
HBOOT: 1.28 S-OFF
The course which i took to reach here:
Stock GB -> OTA Stock ICS -> Factory Reset ICS -> S-OFF -> Flashed ICSense -> Flashed Vertigo
WIFI was only functional at the very first step. It didn't function even with the Official ICS!
PLEASE HELP ME I'M VERY DESPERATE NOW!
try another rom, you can try my MIUI rom, i know wifi works in that
Ok
Thanks again
Do you have any idea why official ROM doesn't work?
it should work if you did it that way you said. if wifi not working when using another rom, then try to take it from start point with RUU, find a guide to do that on the internet and then check if it works stock if it does , then great, if it not working then BAD
As I said it just works on Stock GB not Stock ICS!
I HATE HTC FOR THIS CRAP!!!!

I just got my HTC One for AT&T two weeks ago,
rooted and installed the following
-TWRP
-SuperSU
-bulletproof Kernel/ROM
Whenever I start the camera application, the whole screen is black and the on screen buttons are greyed out.
I've tried to install a stock boot.img and reinstall the Bulletproof Kernel and the same happens.
I've tried the solutions listed on the thread to delete 3 specific files in the zip with no avail. The latest version, 1.10 is supposed to address the camera issue with a camera fix, but I tried it and its still the same.
Reference threads:
Guide I used: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273376
Bulletproof thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233665
Can anyone help please?
You're on the stock ROM?
If so, you don't need the camera fix, you need the original files. If you have a backup, restore /system and you should be good to go.

Don't have a backup, and when I'm on the stock ROM, it says "Unable to start the camera" and when I'm on Bulletproof Kernal, the camera is all blacked.
Isn't the original files the stock boot.img?
P.S. Sorry, new to this.
Try using a different kernal it might fix the problem, worked for me.

I can't put my kernel inside my HTC One's storage because it says Cannot copy item. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. I just factory resetted and the camera problem is still present.
Bulletproof on 4.1.2 camera issue!!!!
i am running into this exact same issue, black camera screen of death
i've tried installing all bulletproof kernals from 1.0 to 2.1
(compatable with my AT&T, android 4.1.2, sense 5)
HAS ANYONE BEEN ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY INSTALL THIS BULLETPROOF
KERNAL ON AT&T, android 4.1..2
???
if you have, please help.
which version of the kernel did you install?
what settings did you use?
maybe i'm doing something wrong, i'm somewhat new to rooting,
before i install a "new" kernel, do i have to do anything so that it overwrites the previous properly?
thanks
AJ
As Flar2 said you don't need the camera fix on stock, reflash Bulletproof and uncheck the option to apply the camera fix.
Ok, thanks, i will give it a shot.
Noob question, if im reflashing a kernel,
(Using TRWP)
Do i have to do anything special? Or will these kernels automatically overwrite?
Thanks!
