You got the zip by searching in the %TEMP% folder after running the ruu exe right?

Yes that definitely is a bad ROM.zip that is in the RUU. I have never seen that before.
Do you have any kind of virus protecction running while you are launching the RUU? That is the only thing I can think of that might corrupt the ROM.zip as it is getting unpacked by the RUU.

What answer do you require? It's an obvious corruption, either in download or upload. Are you using a download manager? Have you tried another source?

Can you temporarily turn MS Security Essentials off and then run the RUU and see what the size of the ROM.zip is in %TEMP%?

Must be a bad RUU. There have been a few posts about getting signature error 132 when running a RUU. I don't know if it is the same one, but that would make sense.
Try another RUU.

OK, I downloaded the 4.14.415.1 RUU tonight and have verified that when you execute the RUU it contains an incomplete ROM.zip file.
I suggest you make a request on football's RUU thread in the Development section and see if he can get a copy of this RUU added to his download site.

[Q] [SOLVED] HTC One RUU Required

Hello guys im new to the forum so sorry for any mistakes I make. Im trying to unbrick an HTC One M7 (S - ON). By using the command 'fastboot getvar version-main' I found out that the image required by the phone is 1.27.206.1 . I have searched for days but I cant seem to find the correct RUU. I did find it in a thread on XDA forum but the link was broken. Can anyone help me? If the RUU is not available is there any other way to unbrick the device?
Thanks in Advance!
FIXED: Read the summary below
I was able to find the correct RUU but the files available were incomplete. So with a lot of help from clsA and nkk71 I was able to find an alternative solution. The solution was to download the Android Revolution HD rom for HTC One and use ADB SIDELOAD to transfer the file in the internal storage From there on it was a piece of cake!

with S-ON, you'll need an RUU which is same or higher version for your MID+CID, which can be inferred from the .206. = O2 UK
you have 1.27.206.1, so you need and RUU which is higher (or equal) to 1.27.206.1; the 1.27.xxx.1 would refer to the actual software version information, the .xxx. indicates the carrier-branded, region, etc. if the version is greater or equal to 1.27.xxx.1 and the .xxx. is 206 then you can run it.
PS: you'll also need a locked/relocked bootloader with s-on, for the ruu to work

s-off will be harder to achieve once you update to a 4.xx RUU
as for download managers, there are plenty, if you want a free (and pretty decent one), i usually use FireFox + DownThemAll add-in

I used Internet Download manager and again downloaded the .exe but Its still not working. I have downloaded it multiple times and it even passed the MD5 test. However, when i check the properties of the .exe the size and size on disk are different from each other. They are different only by 300 to 400 KB, does this have anything to do with the problem im having?

if the MD5 check passed (ie the file you downloaded gives an MD5 hash = 4961fdbbadba53c9640f3638f56faec1) then the file is good.
but the 4.xx RUUs are known to be very sensitive to PC configuration, USB ports, etc. so you should try it with a plain vanilla setup of Windows 7 + USB2 port.
Though (just a thought), why not flash a custom recovery and ROM to get your device back to life, (and possibly even S-OFF).... how did you brick it anyway?
can you also post a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n)

why don't you go ahead and:

2- flash custom recovery
3- flash custom ROM
4- get s-off
5- enjoy

That sounds good ! Just need to confirm that the bootloader on this phone is relocked not locked. do i need to visit htcdev and follow the protocol to unlock it? secondly by custom recovery you mean CWM or TWRP? I already have TWRP on the phone.

to unlock (with s-on), yes you'd need to HTCdev again, BUT if you already have TWRP installed, i recommend you flash the following ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48955645&postcount=251
you can either push it or sideload it to TWRP, once it boots up, use revone to s-off
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
revone will also allow to unlock bootloader
once you have s-off, the options are almost limitless, but please remember to flash only things meant for your phone/modelid ... flashing a wrong hboot for example will end up bricking your phone (not trying to scare you but don't think just cause you have s-off, you can now flash an HTC M8 firmware/hboot)

as long as you already have custom recovery on your phone, it should work (honestly, i've never tried, but it should work)
one of the reasons for HTCdev unlock, is to get a custom recovery on your phone (which you cannot do with S-ON and locked/relocked bootloader)
good luck

Need some help please

Needing some help if you anyone can help at all. I was trying unroot my Sprint M8. Something went wrong when I flashed stock recover wrong, I don't know what but the issues started after that, and now it keeps booting into bootloder mode and won't go pass that. I have contacted HTC Premium Support to see if they have any advice still waiting to hear back. I have contacted Sprint and they have told me to take into a store to see if it can be repaired. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to fix this? Or do you know if it can be fixed by Sprint of if that is wasting a trip. Any help would be much appreciated. Don't know if this is the right forum or not. If not I'm sorry. Thanks for anyone in advance who has any advice tips or whatever it may be..
You can fix your issue with a RUU. Hit the second link in my sig and scroll down to the RUU section. Find the RUU that matches your current software/firmware version and follow the instructions in my thread to run the RUU on your device.

Even though I can't boot past the bootloader mode screen?
Download the latest RUU, and make sure that the appropriate drivers are on your computer.
Also, make sure that you lock your bootloader (fastboot oem lock) before running the RUU if you are S-On. If you're S-Off, just run the RUU as is.
If that doesn't work, come back here.
Edit: Magnum responded while I was still typing. Listen to him.
And to respond your question, the RUU is run from the bootloader screen, so you're exactly where you need to be.

Okay my bootloader is locked. The issues started some time between flashing stock recover and relocking the bootloader. It says Tampered Relocked Security Warning if that means anything.
Now I tried fastboot oem rebootRUU and fastboot flash zip firmware.zip when it is flashing the zip in RUU it says
targeted reported max download size
sending zip
OKAY
Writing zip
(bootloader) signature checking
FAILED
Is there anything to be done from here or should I just take it to the carrier store to see if they can fix it or should I just send it in for repiar to HTC?

Sprint should be able to fix it. Having said that, you don't need to try and run the RUU from a command line. Double-click the RUU file from your desktop to start the installer, then follow the prompts on your computer as they appear.

I have a question im on a stock rooted rom with no system changes except for the boot up sound which i restored. I flashed the stock recovery and then tried to take the OTA but it failed about a quarter of the way through. would my best bet be to just flash the firmware and flash a 4.4.4 stock rom with the eye feature when available or do I just do a RUU? Im just trying to keep phone up to date with stock rom. any suggestions?

Currently there is no stock rooted ROM for 4.4.4. You can update your firmware if you'd like and then wait for someone to publish a stock rooted ROM. Otherwise you can troubleshoot the reason you can't install the OTA and go from there.

Download the 4.25.654.18 Full Firmware from RUU (fastboot flashable) and the recovery.img can be pulled from that.
Good luck,
Sloth

He didn't say anything about flashing the full firmware. He simply said to download and pull the stock recovery from the file. You can then flash the recovery via fastboot commands (you do not need to be S-off to do this).

What Magnum_Enforcer said above is correct.
BTW you can flash firmware if you are s-on...it needs to be signed firmware and you need to re-lock your bootloader

No it won't. If you want to unroot and go back to the stock recovery I recommend running the latest RUU. This will put your phone back 100% stock and unrooted with the stock recovery. The RUU thread can be found below.

This is the RUU.zip you want to use.
Edit: you need to re-lock your bootloader before running the RUU.
Instructions for flashing from hboot:
-using 7zip, extract 0P6BIMG.zip to ext sd card
-boot into bootloader
-make sure hboot is highlighted, press power button
-it will scan your ext_sd card, then ask if you want to start the update
-press volume up & let it do it's thing...
Any other questions feel free to ask here.

Are you using 7zip to extract the file?
Did you check the MD5 after the download was complete?

Sometimes if you are not using 7zip it will give you the corrupt message.
An MD5 checker will tell you if the download was good or not.
I use WinMD5Free
Md5 said it's good but it says it's invalid

I recently tried out 3.35 ROM's and am trying to RUU back to 3.39. The process fails using the HTC 3.39 RUU (.exe) every time.
I am s-off / cid 11111111 / 3.35 firmware ...what am I doing wrong?
I tried 2 different PC's w/two different usb cables...no dice.

Thanks for the reminder and the link (this is 3.39?)! Last time I did this was on a m8 gpe a few years ago. The .zip should simply be located in the root of /sdcard (internal), correct?
The .zip will need to be removed on future reboots or the RUU will run again automatically?
BTW, the error message using the RUU .exe from htc was "155" ...

ERROR [155~159]: IMAGE ERROR
One of these error messages will appear when you use the incorrect RUU to update and the image file size is larger than the Flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again.

I was pickup up an sd card anyways this week; thank you again and have a great rest of the weekend. :good:

SD Card attempt...
"10 RU_MODELID_FAIL modelid in android-info mismatched"
This is what I was sensing was wrong in the first place w/the RUU.exe attempts based on the error code I was receiving. I am guessing I need to modify my model id back to the t-mobile us version then?

Changed CID to T-MOB010 & changed MID to 0PJA12000 ...success. Perhaps it all came down to just the MID change and could have stayed SUPERCID...not sure but mission accomplished.
Thank you again in any case! :good:
