hello everyone *** i tried to find the answer but i gave up. I rooted and install CyanogenMod 10. and it looks beautifully. however, lately i been having problem with my internet. goes in and out and now i can't send picture messages b/c i have no data connection at all. someone told me to update my profile on the phone but Cyanogen don't have that option when you go to the section "About Phone" it used to be an option there "update firmware" and "update profile" and other things but is not there anymore and i was told that i need to do that. Can anyone please help me or suggest some alternative option?

So I recently rerooted once I realized that all no root reuired tethering apps block https sites unless you buy the full version. I installed the latest version of cyanogen following the tutorial on the wiki to the T. My phone is fully functional except I can not get the tethering to work. I have uninstalled the remote ndis driver and went through the install wiazrd, directing it to the folder that has the driver and it says something like it hasn't been securely verified or something and I have the option to continue installation or stop and I continue. Then, it says it didn't work and I get a code 10. Troubleshooting did nothing to help me either. Anyone have any idea what I should do? Also, I know there are threads on this but I couldn't find an answer to this issue if there is I'm sorry.

You might have to enable it in the app drawer or in settings somewhere. I ran into a rom once that had the enabler in the app drawer.

I found other threads, but none of the solutions such as unistalling and reinstalling the driver were working. I'm searching for other solutions
couldnt you atleast ask a QUESTION in the QUESTIONs and answers section?
did u try ticking the wired tether box in setting? (not to insult your intelligence, but i got asked about this via the cmupdater support address a while ago... and it turned out that the person hadnt even enabled it)
Moved as not Android Development.
Yes I made sure the little box was checked for usb tethering but I understand the necessity of the question lol.
And sorry stylez (moderator) I assumed since it was about cyanogen roms it would go under development. Looking back, Q & A makes more sense.
This thought just occured. Considering that unistalling and reinstalling the driver didn't work, could it be that I just have an outdated driver for this rom? I unrooted about 2 months ago so the driver might have changed from then. If so, does someone have a link to download the latest version?
Thank you all for your help.
xp, vista or 7?
7 is likely broken somehow
as are xp and vista coz MS made them....but anyway....
are u restarting between uninstalling and reinstalling?
I have xp. And it worked when I first had a cyanogen rom
And I tried restartingbetween uninstall and reinstall with no success
ok so i have a sprint galaxy tab i was trying to put this on my tab with no idea what i was doing....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020167 i had flashed it on the the device then it hung at the samsung screen forever without ever changing so i went to the restore option in the volume up power settings and selected a random restore point to boot from my tab came on this time back to 2.2 or whatever it was but i was getting all these force closes i go threw the setup process on my phone and now when i click on my wifi i get a error and my screen does not turn to the side and a bunch of other stuff can someone please help me i had no idea what i was doing when i did this i just want my phone to work like it worked when i got it out of the box please help thank you....
First, wrong section..
Second, check this thread for answers.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133053
alright well i have tried the stock rom section of the link you gave me plenty of times since yesterday and i have the sw upgrade app running on my computer but i always get the same damn error when im at the start software download screen....cannot open binary file!....wtf
What you have done wrong is rushed into something you have no clue about which is a stupid thing to do with your device. First read, read and more read and when you know what you are doing THEN attempt to flash your device and not until.
Also you are posting in the wrong section, You have no business posting anything in here. If you want to ask a question then you reply to a roms thread or create a topic in the Q&A forum.
This isnt just a couple of boys complaining, it's a solid rule here.
Don't respond here - let it die. Then go to the Q&A section and start fresh there please.
its alright this can be closed now i fixed my tab
I actually thought the topic of this post was sarcasm. Got a laugh out of me. Thx.

I Already Changed the Nvram_net.txt --> "ccode:ALL"
Still No Use .
It keeps saying "Turning On Wi-Fi"
Why is that so ??
PLease I really need all your help
ROM & version?
Kernel & version (if not from the ROM)?
(I see you have rooted the device in another thread)
Do you have a logcat?
That would all make it easier to see/determine what's happening.

It means that process that runs the wifi (in the crudest of descriptions) isn't there. Have you rebooted the tab since you saw this? Did it fix it?
Also, further back in the logcat you should see something indicating that the process wpa_supplicant had an issue and exited.
If you can, place a sanitized version of the logcat in a pastebin and put the link here (assuming you can post links).

Pastebin is a general forum thing. Nothing specific to android. It's a place to put large amounts of text so others can see it rather than pasting it into forum post.

How can I use Wi-Fi???
ok guys, i have a question for you. keep in mind that im new to the phone world lol. ok so a bout a month ago i wanted to unroot my phone but for some reason the tar files on sammobile wasnt working right. so i came on here and downloaded what i believed to be the file that i needed to go back to stock. after i used odin and the phone rebooted it automatically notified me that i had a update. after i accepted the update and it rebooted, it again notified me that i have yet another update. so after this happened i noticed that my phone was updated to 4.4.4 kitkat which would be great exept for the fact that it keeps freezing and when i am on wifi i have a problem getting phone calls aswell as text messages. also when i disconnect from wifi i have to restart the phone to get any data back. is there anything that i can do? is it possible to go back to 4.3 or even 4.2.2? any help would be very much appreciated.
Take a screenshot of your "about device" section so we know what build you're on please!

Well, that's a T-Mobile phone and you're in an AT&T forum so...
First time posting here. Help is appreciated. I have a htc one m7 with sprint USA. Cwm recovery. After installing my first rom (Viperone 9.0), I get alot of this same message that's in the title there. In alot of places but especially whenever I open settings. I cannot even browse my settings because of this message and after I click OK a bunch settings just crashes. Now the only thing I've done with this phone is unlocked the bootloader, flashed cwm and installed viperone. Comprehensive help is much appreciated in advance.
Oh, and i had forgot to mention that my phone is rooted, albeit not permanently. And i do not have service. Which i assume to be part of the problem. Any help is kindly appreciated.
