[Q] what is making my music playback laggy?

I've rooted and realised this problem... My music playback is not smooth. Any reasons why this is occurring?

I've found that certain widgets cause my music to lag regardless of the player I'm using (stock, winamp, etc.)
Try turning off your widgets and see if that helps, then add them back to find the culprit.

Are you using weather and toggle widget? That caused me and many other laggy music playing. It sucks because i cant refund now...

turn off wifi while playing music....this solves the tempo/pitch changing playback artifacts

Hey all, apparently it's just that one occasion...playback us smooth now. Yes, I use weather and toggle widget.. Does it cause lag?
And no, I don't switch on wifi while playback

Sound is laggy when listening music

I am using Galaxy S plus.When I'm lisening music or watching video and pull the notification the sound starts to lag.When I drag the notification bar all the way the sound isn't laggy anymore.I' m running Ginger Revenge Rom but I had these problems on some other roms too.This problem started few days ago.It seems like more u use the rom,the more laggy the soung will be and the rom itself.Is there any fix for this?

please try the MX player,it‘work good

VLC with hardware acceleration enabled in settings has given me the best performance when watching movies, for music I'd suggest Apollo or Google stock player...
I used MX player before but 720p vids lagged with it.
(I know our display isn't HD, but it still looks a lot better)

Please try mx player. It is the best then if you don't have any luck try flashing another kernel maybe it could help.
Regarding music I recommend using ubermusic simple and it does the work.

how to solve videoplayback lag after jb update on s advance

i found that there is a considerable lag in video playback after jb update.this happends only sometimes...heard if u enable gpu rendering it might solve the problem.anyone got a way to apply project butter on video playback too.

Turn OFF Powersaving mode. Swipe down notification and turn it off. It put your CPU to 800MHz instead of 1GHz. If that do not help, look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092627
Because of usless posts like yours, the one with answers are gone on 4th-5th page. And you can't find it!

its has nothing to do with power saving mode...even clearing ram does not help.the lag is noticable only few times but wen it happens one has to turn the device off and reboot.

Or download new version from sammobile and flash it in Odin. Someone said that there is no more lag in that version.

Use advance task killer and keep auto kill on..........now no more lags in video playback........
it worked for me....bt it will cost u some of ur battery.

No lag in the new version! Confirmed!

Youtube problems

Guys..this new Youtube makes me hit the phone sometimes.. it is freezing everytime I play a video but the audio is still going on.. I'm on CM10.1 but I bet this doesn't matter for youtube.. any ideas how to fix it? I mean, an fixed apk

Have you found the solution yet? I have an exactly same issue with you. The video freeze bu the sound still playing, after tht YouTube will not responding :crying::crying: I also use CM 10.1 by Maclaw

4.4 music playback

After updating to 4.4 I have notice my audio when listening to music is buggy and drops out every so often, has anyone else noticed this?

I have Rajeev's ROM prerooted and sometime I can hear that too. It's really annoying. Does anyone have a solution to this?

I have just disabled xposed modules and is seems to have gone now, I was using gravitybox

I was using that, but I just flashed NUT's version and it's working fine now, the whole room even feels smoother
