Hello, I was with this guide and follow every step. I unlocked the bootloader via HTCdev website. I S-Off my phone after almost 30 times doing the wire trick (Juopunutbear). But when I tried to update the HBOOT to Juopunutbear's (which in the guide the author have it attached to download), all I get is the HTC logo loading a green bar which stops at 85% aprox and then there I wait like 40 minutes and nothing, so I tried to stop the process by touching any button and nothing, so I unplugged the USB cable, then I see a white HBOOT screen with only an RUU option and it did nothing with any button, so I decided to remove the battery.
After that my phone never turn on again. When I connect it to the charger, it blinks the LED in orange and green, when I connect it to the USB sometimes it do the same with the LED, sometimes it just get static in green... I hear a USB-connect sound when I plug it and a disconnect USB sound when disconnect it.
I have no idea what to do or what I've done.
Help me please.
Can you get into hboot ?pull the battery Vol- , and power ?

There is a post in the Android Development section for the Vivid that says something about unbricking your phone...I would check there. Just sounds like its partial, but not bricked. Not sure though.

Good Morning
My HTC One won't charge unless it is in bootloader "Fastboot AC" and even then, it will only power to about 96%.
If the phone is turned off and I have it plugged in, the power light is orange and it will be bright for a couple seconds, then go dim, then bright, then dim, etc. The battery charge symbol shows up then disappears, shows up then disappears, etc.
I was on a custom ROM but I have since returned to stock and received the OTA which updated by HBoot and radio but I still have an unlocked bootloader and s-off.
I have tried the 2 minute press of the power button and vol up/down keys but this does nothing to fix the issue.
Any ideas?
I'm thinking a hardware problem but I find it unusual it will charge on Fastboot AC but not while it's on.
Thanks in advance for replies

clean your phone's USB port (gently), possibly using a compressed air can, and/or also change USB cable/charger

I tried that, I had the USB port looked at and cleaned and I have tried all methods of charging (ie. multiple cables, wall plugin, lighter plugin, usb charge on computer, etc).
sigh
The phone (C5303 - Stock ROM - Locked BL - No Root) was working normally. The last time I checked, it had 60% battery.
The phone suddenly stopped working.
I tried to turn on the phone. Nothing Happened.
I tried to hard reset. Nothing Happened.
I even tried to charge the phone... Even the red illumination light was not working!! Hence, nothing happened at all.
I couldn't find a solution to this...Please help!! :crying: :crying:

I would suggest for you to first, hold the off button under the battery cover for about 20 seconds. This might stimulate "battery removal" on the SP. Afterwards, try plugging in the wall charger and see if the device react.

Did that. Still no change.
No red LED light, no vibration, even the screen is not on.
If pressing the yellow button on the back for 10 seconds doesn't work after charging it for 12 hours, you either have a faulty charger or a dead phone. (hardware failure)
Last chance would be to use a different charger. If that doesn't work, you will have to return your phone and file a warranty claim if you have NOT unlocked your bootloader nor rooted it.
Should you have rooted or unlocked your phone then I can only suggest visiting this link: http://tinyurl.com/n35lsjn

Well, it's definitely not rooted or unlocked. And it's warranty has been expired (more than 1 year old).
I guess I'll go the Sony service center or else, the championship!!
Thanks for the support anyways!! :good:
Hi,
Couple of days ago same happened to me.
I just took phone to hand and realized that its completely dead. Just like this, without a reason. No vibrations, led blinks, no reaction for any button combinations, plug-in charger and so on.
After a long time of fighting, reading forums, youtube clips etc. something started to change and prevented me to buy another phone.
First symptom was that in time where power button is pressed the red light had blinked two times shortly and then again and again. When button had been released again nothing.
Then I've been trying to connect phone to PC in flashmode. It has failed but I've observed that right after usb connector is plugged, windows knows that something has been connected ( "USB device connected" sound) but 2 -3 seconds later
disconnected ("USB device disconnected sound"). In this moment PC companion even was able to complete step "connect the device" but right after that it returned error (disconnect device, connect again and try again).
Then I connected phone to wall charger again. Now, when I do this, in first moment i see short blink of red light and immediately after this it starts to shine constantly for a couple of minutes. After that red light goes out for another couple of minutes and whole sequence repeats again and again in loop (short red light -> long red light-> no light).
I've red somewhere that constant red light means that phone battery has not enough power even to run charging mode via kernel (not enough power to run kernel). The suggestion is to be patient and charge the phone via wall charger for 15 or 20 hours, what currently happens. I'm still waiting for miracle. I could buy new battery but I wouldn't like to do this for nothing.
If you have any suggestions or advices/confirmation what the red light sequence means please feel free to comment @karan please share with us the result of service intervention and root cause of issue if possible. Thx in advance.
ps. additionally I've discovered that usb cable which I used is broken. different phone connected via this cable to pc is not recognized (nothing happens) but under another cable it does normally. It might be the reason of problems but I have no Idea if it could result the battery dead.
Hi,
Anyone knows if phone should work without battery? I've seen such information on polish android forum however when I unplugged the battery and plugged charger nothing happened. Only one short red blink and then nothing. If phone should work in such state it means that my problem is not related to battery.
So yesterday my Xperia SP's battery died, I put it in the charger and it restarted but immediatly died again while in the charger (2x)
After that it didn't restart anymore and it only gave me a red light while in the charger (sometimes red light, sometimes no light) also when I push the on-button while not in the charger a red light starts blinking. Also my computer does not recognize the phone when I plug it in.
I read on some forums that more people suffer from this problem and they had the luck to find a solution with a hard reset.
A hard reset does nothing with my phone, I push the button on the back for a minute and nothings happens, I charged it the whole night (with the red light on) and this morning still nothing.
So please is there another solution to this problem without the back reset button? Please help.

Hello.
This may sound repetitive but I will need you to do it. Could you hold the small button under the battery for roughly 40 seconds straight? Afterwards, try to charge it and start it up. If it fails, tell me, I have another method queued up for you!

If you plugged in the charger, the LED is constantly red right? Even after countless hours it still lights up red right?
If so, please give it a nice 2 hours of charge. And then let's get to know how long could your phone survive. THis is to check the battery condition of your XSP.
You'll need Flashtool and a proper drivers installation. Follow these steps:
This should be easy to recover. The prerequisites are a stock ROM ftf and Flashtool
Install flashtool
Move the stock ftf into "firmwares" folder within Flashtool's install directory (default C:\Flashtool\firmwares)
Execute the drivers installer located within "drivers" folder inside Flashtool's install directory (default C:\Flashtool\drivers)
Tick "flashmode drivers", "fastboot drivers" and lastly scroll down a little bit, find "Common drivers for Viskan board" and tick that as well. Finish the installation
Open flashtool. Make sure you ran it as an administrator to avoid conflicts.
Hit the lightning icon
Choose flashmode
Choose the firmware you have downloaded
Under the WIPE section, untick DATA if you want to preserve data
Continue. This is ask you to connect your XSP in flashmode. To do so, make sure your phone is turned off completely, hold volume rocker down and connect it to your computer. Once the LED bar lights green, you may release the volume rocker.
Flashing process will run. It is important not to interrupt the process!
Once complete, remove the cable from your phone and turn it on. You have your phone back.
For a similar guide, you might want to check [Guide] How to use Flashtool

me facing this issue, phone doesnot turn on, charging gives a continuous red light on, doesnot change to green/ blue. can it be any charging issues? any help much appreciated.
Hi wonderful XDA forums, i'm an italian user, then sorry for my bad english.
I'm in a very strange situation, the new year starts strange for me.
Yesterday trying to short circuit the resistor to make the vibration works again( i read on internet and i see that works with other Xperia Z), the phone power down and won't boot anymore.
The strange things appears now, when i plug the usb cable for charge the phone, nothing appear, no LED, but if i disconnect the battery with the USB cable plugged-in the led blink red one time then blink a second time and become blue, and if i press volume down immediately afer the first led red blink, the led become green for 1 sec and the phone go in Download Mode.
When i use original Sony charger same situation, but when i disconnect the battery the led blink red 1 time and stays on and the phone shows SONY logo but immediately reboots go in a bootloop like this, red 1 time and stays on and the phone shows SONY logo but immediately reboots, i noticed that if i press power button several times after the SONY logo i can see the low battery icon but if stop to press the button the screen goes off and restart the bootloop describes upper.
I try several wall charger, and several cables oviusly the original SONY USB cable and wall charger, but nothing change, the battery is new and works because i test it with another phone.
Connecting to PC i can flash rom ftf with FlashTool without errors, but at the end of the process the phone won't boot, and won't charge same problems.
I noticed that the phone can't be recognise if the battery is connected, just when i disconnect the battery the phone go in fastboot mode or in download mode, for example when i flash a new ROM with flashtool when ask to connect the phone i must disconnect the battery and press volume down (in this way the PC recognise the phone, and the phone go in download mode) then i can connect or left disconnect the battery, anyway the flash operation would be OK but nothing change.
Sometimes when i connect the phone to PC the system ask me for QHSUBS_DLOAD drivers and sometimes the phone is recognised with SOMC FLASH....
I know this is a very bad situation, only Xperia Guru's can help me, but probably this phone is dead.
But I trust in XDA Community and i know that is the only place i can get serious and valid reply
Regards Samuel
this sounds exactly like what happened to me
This is extremely weird this happened on the same day... ?
Hi friends, welcome to soft brick world i think.. But i m happy and unhappy that i am not the only one in this weird situation..:silly:
"short circuit the resistor to make the vibration works again" thank god I didn't try it.. otherwise I'd end up with dead device
I have an htc m7_ul with s-off. I tried updating to lolipop using PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.51_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_458803_unsigned.zip which failed in some parts of the flashing process and put my phone into RUU only mode.
After that I managed to flash M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.20.401.1_Radio_4A.13.3227.06_10.27.1127.01_release_308001_signed_2_4 which completed SUCCESSFULL without any errors. The phone rebooted and hopefully Htc quietly briliant logo appear and everything seems fine. Unfortunately this wasn't the case, the phone stuck in there. I try pushing several buttons power, power + vol up or power + vol down for several minutes but nothing. The phone was stucked on quietly brilliant logo. I waited until the battery fully drained and charge it for a while, I tried to start the phone again the phone couldn't boot up the only reaction it has is the capacitive buttons blinking whatever combinations of power buttons and volume buttons I used. The phone is not recognized in pc at all its like is completely dead (it is not even being detected in device manager) . Is there something I can to? I really tryed everything and search in forums for hours for an answer without any luck.
Update:
I am not sure if the phone is being charge since when I connect it to wall charger there is no red led light. Something I didn't mentioned is that before updating to lolipop I was on stock kitkat without root just unlocked bootloader and S-OFF using rumrunner. Any help will be appreciated !!
Update 2:
I left the phone alone and fully discharged, now when I put it on charger the red led blinks (turning on/off). I read that this led must stay solid red in order to get some charge. Its has been more than 5 hours and the red led didnt become solid red. I tried everything the forum solutions advice but without any luck.
Update 3:
I disconnected the phone from charger and weirdly the red led blinks (turning on/off) continues even is not connected to charger? Can anyone help me its urgent
