Bricked from ics leak .238 - Motorola Droid Bionic

Hello,
I Have bricked my Droid bionic while it was on the 238 ICS leak and I was hoping someone may be able to help. Unfortunately, my friend was helping me and try to flash it back to 902. As we all know and as he found out, that bricked the phone pretty badly. Is it toast now or can I save this thing?
Thanks

I once had the same thing happen to my Droid X. I tried to go back to a previous version from a leak and couldn't fix it. Not even the people at the Verizon store I took it to could fix it. They set me up with a warranty replacement because they thought it was caused by a virus or something. I was lucky. Of course now I keep my phone insured, just in case.

Try this. It may help you get back up and running.

Note: ics leaks from version .235 and higher can NEVER go back to GB (.902 or .905)

every post involving 235+ typically comes with giant red wording that states... eh no use now :sly:

Quick question

I decided to start using my old revolution as a backup phone. It is basically a brand new refurbished replacement they sent me a while back that I've never used. When I go to update it to gingerbread it says that there isn't an update available. I'm just wondering if Verizon pulled the update when they ended its life and is there any way I can still root it and and install a gingerbread rom on it without first updating to gingerbread? Any help would be appreciated.

You need to be on gingerbread to install a gingerbread ROM or you'll brick your phone, it's a complete pain in the ass to fix so I wouldn't try it. There are instructions to manually update to gb in the dev section if you have access to a pc...

Thank you. I figure since I still have it, I may as well as play with it some. I'm interested to see how it's improved since it.got gingerbread.

While using theory ROM? If not what am I supposed to be running to do so? Also I deleted some bloatware I heard this might be a problem is there a way to get them back "honestly I forgot which ones they where" I been reading alot of post but I can't find any good info

I've never used a rom, but my guess is you'll need to return to stock like everyone else. pick your poison and read some more.
RSD Lite method
PathSaver method
You will need to install the 4ever root patch after root, before going up.
Thanks for the help I was about to just update while on theory haha..

Flashing rom??

I tried flashing cm9. I'm on the. 232 ics leak. After I rebooted it was just a blank screen but my soft keys were lit up. Never booted up. Help please?

Did you use one of the ics-leak specific builds of CM9 and install safestrap 2.0 after you installed .232? If not, you need to do that. Also, you should wipe the cache and dalvik cache again, maybe even just do another factory reset/wipe from safestrap. Also, often when installing a new rom, it will go to the black screen on the first boot up and you may have to do a battery pull, and the second try will work.
Yeah I didn't download the leak version lol. I'm a noob to the bionic lol

Did you follow the directions word for word? As stated above some roms require you to do certain things to get beyond certain points. I have yet to install an ICS ROM as I'm quite happy with .232. Every so often we think we follow directions down to the "t" but we miss 1 little step. I do it all the time and I am not new to flashing new roms/leaks etc...You just gotta go back and retrace your steps and see where you might have gone wrong. I know I've read some of the steps for one of the rom and the spot you're at seems like the point where you need to do a battery pull as suggested.
I overlooked the whole leak rom thing lol. I'm back on .232 cm9 wasn't really as smooth for me as the leak .232

I tried CM9 and AOKP before I tried Liquid 1.5. Liquid was a LOT better.
Does the status bar on liquid scroll down with the screen locked? That's my only peeve right now

Liquid 1.5mr1 is really nice, i really like it alot, i like motos stock leak but there isnt any customization on it
Yeah, there are some things I like better about stock .232 over Liquid, like the SMS app but I'll trade that any day for ROM tweaks.

[Q] can you revert to ICS after OTA JB update with RSDLite?

Hi - I think I'm in a similar boat to other bionic users who lost root after the OTA update to Jelly Bean. Can anyone tell me if i can use
RSDLite to flash the stock ICS?
ww.droidforums.net/forum/droid-bionic-tech-support/227639-guide-use-rsdlite-install-246-ics-fxz-updated-10-24-2012-a.html
I'd like to go back, reroot, and try updating again with some of the steps listed on other threads to keep root. Alternatively, may just go with CM10.
just want to see if this will work if I have already updated to JB.
No you'll brick if you do that. The security levels are different between the two.
Just wait a few days, I read on another forum that DJRBliss has been working on a jb root exploit for the bionic.

Thanks for the info. Glad I checked. Will wait as you suggested -- hell, we Bionic users have waited this long, anyway...
Us bionic owners know a thing or two about waiting.. fortunately I kept root through the ota.
"Brush up on your Ubuntu samba skills and wait a few days. And perhaps get your PayPal account ready for a donation while you're at it. Root is coming soon but it won't be a one click. It'll involve effort. We set up a root bounty on droidrzr. I highly recommend that those who care about root pledge a few bucks or donate directly to djrbliss." - SamuriHL from another thread here.
