Hello, can my gt-s5830i record video with 640x480 resolution?
Cant u look in ur cam settings or search via google? And nope, 320*240.
And may I ask how this is related to Development?
Insert witty sentence here
Prawesome's right, this goes in S5830i general section.. Anyway, no, it can't.

XDA isn't for it dude
Even any other noob forum isn't too
Then again, you can record in that resolution with lgcamera (rafaelbaugis might be required)

Can anyone tell me if there is some update.zip or a custom line in hw_config.sh to disable m4v recording? I captured only 2 minutes of video and it had 200+ Mb and I experienced lags. I am using GingerXperia V21b.

U have to reinstall ROM i guess
Well, if someone made an update.zip in android development section, he could also do an undo.zip. And how doesn't anyone complain about this recording, i mean, my phone isn't national data storage

Hi all xda members.I have a question about watching hd films on x8.Can i watch hd films (720p,1020p),when i can whith app is best for this.
Thanks for repiles.
I dont think so, maybe it will play but will be laggy. Try resizing the movie first. Theres a lot of converters out there.
For the apps I recommend MOBO player.

Thanks for fast help.
There is really no point in playing HD video on X8, because on 360p screen (480x360), you obviously can't watch 720p (1024x720) or 1080p (1920x1080) in their real resolutions
so for an example:
if you have one video in 360p, 720p and 1080p, and let's say that you want to watch this video on a device that supports 1080p but it has 360p screen (like X8),
you will end up with that, that you can't distinguish 360p from 1080p video
so my advice would be for you to resize it to 360p, put FPS on 20-23, maintain the sound quality, and that is as much as you can get on X8 regarding playing videos
use popular converter such as FormatFactory.
MP4 DivX Codec
480x320 WxH
20-30 FPS
Birate: 580KiB/s or higher until 2500KiB/s
Audio AAC
128 KiB/s
I never actually tried playing HD vids on my X8 before cuz I I know it will lag, but I think all the apps I would of recommended have already been mentioned

Thanks now i resize films for my x8 in format factory and give 20-23-30 fps,360p.

You can edit FPS when you're encoding video. You can't choose FPS in games.

I was confused when I'm using miui camera for the first time!
There's an autofocus option, but I'm pretty sure that Galaxy Mini camera doesn't have autofocus.
But not so long after, I make a conclusion: Galaxy Mini really doesn't have autofocus. It's just the miui camera which is made with that option so if the camera have autofocus, it will do, but if not, it will change nothing.
Doesn't you realize that whether you tick on the autofocus on or off, there's no different results?
It don't! If u want it anyway just use Camera360 Ultimate. It also have ISO setting
Edit : it have touch focus instead of autofocus

how app can give you a feature that is controlled by hardware?
Can the owners post link to their photos and specially video samples recorded in the Nexus 4, in different recording settings?
The only person that did this unfortunately chose the worst sharing way possible (Dropbox), so it obviously can't be accessed already. There are a bunch of threads but they seldom talk about the camera quality.
Specifically, I'd like to know if "the miracle" was done and they fixed the 1080p video recording frame rate to acceptable levels.

Pics are taken using automatic settings... and then some with the flash disabled for comparison...

I recorded videos and looked at the frame rate of both in 1080p and 720p. For me 1080p records at 30 fps (around 30.22 to be more precise) and 720 records at 24 fps. Anyone else got different results?

My 1080p videos are highly compressed. I get compression artifacts on details in the distance and the sound of distant objects / ambiance is horrid and garbled - again compressed
Can anybody pls tell me what is the size of 1080p and 720p videos recorded by Nexus 4? I mean a 1 minute movie will be how many MBs of size?? On an average..

Should we take that as an example that our camera can still be optimized?
Please, don't link to any threat without saying why...
