[Semi-Fixed]2G network problems please help!!

Hey guys!! I'm new to the android scene, I managed to get this phone up and runing thanks to you guys!! Thank you so much!!
I now have a problem that I can't seem to find the solution...
My phone gets really bad 2G reception, 3g is normal but 2G is really bad, I tried another SIM card but with the same result...
Can it be a Radio flash imcompatibility? can it be it? If not what can be causing this? Can it be hardware related??
Please help me get around this one...I love my G1
PS: I tried tons of ROMS already and tge end resolt was the same...
And please excuse my bad english

EDIT:
just wanted to say that i founf the solution, the problem is that the GSM radio, disconnects and we have to restart it manually...
i dont know the cause of this problem but if it happens to you, this i what i did to fix it.
1) to to market
2)download a download creator software like "any cut"
3)open any cut
4)do the fallowing sequence: New shortcut---activity---phone info (a shortcut should be on you screen now)
5)close any cut
6)open phone info
7)scrool down to "Turn off\on Radio" press the botton once.
8)now press it again until it reads "Turn off radio"
if not working go to:
1)any cut again---activity----data synchronization
2)open data synch
3)resynch everything
if not working
1)Replace SIM card
if not working
1) open your phone
2)check if any coaxial cable has come loose....
if not working (not sure about this one)
1)check your flashed radio version
2)ask for advice here...

Hey guys have some updates on this...
I did all the steps above including updating the radio...it looked like it had fixed it but it got worse...
so i reverted to an older radio one that ends on 26I...
Reverting to an older ratio version did make it better but it still disconnects once a day...is this the stock radio is is there an older one?
in going tobring everything to stock and see if it works, i cant have this happening on me....

wifi not working need help

need help..
i cant never get wifi to work
it works like..sometimes then get disconnected. now i cant even connect.
it gives me force close or error.
i done many reflashing and yes i did wipe out everything
running cm6.1 rc-1
with 2.6.35.8-wildmonks
[email protected] desktop# 168
i have 3800HGV-B router.
need help please
running 5.12.00.08 radio.

i cant even get my mac address. it says unavaliable
when i go to advanced setting when its turning on it gives me force close
any ideas guys...?

Can you remember if this started to happen after updating a specific kernel or when you came from CM6.0? Have you tried reverting back to your last known good NAND? Have you attempted to revert back to complete stock?

no i bought this nexus about a week ago and when i first got it the first thing i noticed was that wifi wasnt working
it had lastest cm 6.1
so what i did was i went completely back to stock
wifi still didnt work. EPE something? then FRG33, and then FRG 83
so i just went back to cm 6.1 with wildmonk kernal.
the weird thing is that wifi sometimes works..like rarely. but as soon as i lose signal.. and i let it sit for few hours then i wont get connected
im most likely to get error or force close..
i cant even see my networks on the thingy..
i tried like 10 different apps tried like 4 diff kernals 3 roms ..still no luck..

i like nexus one better than g2..or vibrant.. i just..want to fix this wifi problem :<

what is the difference between ipv4 and ipv6
could that b a problem?

when i do ipconfig my lan wireless network comes

you shouldn't worry about ip version
90% are v4 anyways
Dunno about your problem though, sorry...

Is this problem just on your home network, or have you tried it on others?

What is the signal strength on your network showing?

i can not see anynetworks
i cant detect my neighbors either.
when i click enable wifi it says scanning then just turns it off by itself
or when i try to go into setting while enabling it freezes for few sec then gives me force close
tried fix permission
when i ran logcat
it said something about
its always one of these three
failed to load up drives
can not disable WPA
cant run supplicant
EDIT: ALL RIGHT. A person who helps me to get WIFI working correctly I am willing to pay UPTO 50 dollar ill send it in paypal or something( send me a pm)
its better than buying a new router not knowing what the problem is, or getting a new phone

It may be a hardware issue
Sounds more like a hardware issue, rather than a software issue. Did you contact the person who sold you the phone, it could be that's why they pass it off to you. You said you flashed other roms and had the same problem, every rom has different kernal versions, so it couldn't be a kernal issue, I would return it to the seller or contact HTC about a replacement, they will still respect the warranty on the phone.

i bought it off craigs...i could contact him but idk if he will like.. change it back..
cause i traded my g2 for nexus one plus extra+cash ..
since i dont use keyboard, it had one dead pixel, and loose hinge..
could it really be a hardware issue?
when you open the back cover do you guys have little stickers on every screw drives that say "VOID"
cause when i open the back cover there is one sticker on top left corner
but dont have void stickers on right top corner and middle left.
im guessing he opened the device? so no replacement from HTC?
cause i did some research and it looks like lot of nexus one users had this problem
and other android users.
is there a no fix for this?

theres only one screw with the void sticker. when you reflashed to stock, what did you use? try the PASSIMG method. make sure you wiped before changing. other than that, it is probably a hardware fault. try wiping just in case if it does work. if not, call htc up

did everything even went back to 2.1 with that method. and went to 2.2 2.2.1
FRG83 FRG83 EPE33(?) dont exaclty remember
4 different rom
at least 5 differnet kernel.

Problem solved. changed the setting on router.

[Q] Wi-Fi and Bluetooth not responding

Hey guys. First of all I want to thank you all for detailed information and in advance for helping me I've got a really weird problem that I can't solve. I bought my milestone from a guy(second hand) and I found wi-fi and bluetooth is not working. I thought that I can solve the problem but I can't find any solution over all android forums.
I flashed some different ROM's but nothing affected the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problem. When I try to Turn On Wi-Fi it tries to start and then stops then again starts, it goes on and on. I tried to find original MAC address it shows 00:00:00:00:00:00. I tried to Mac Spoof but I can't change it from terminal.
And for the bluetooth I click Turn On then it tries to turn on and stops like I didn't click anything.
As a summary I lost my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Anyone can help me restoring it back to normal? Cause in my Area 3G is unstable and I want to use my home network! I can't use it any more. I'm waiting for the good responses.

There are several possible reasons why it's not working. They include:
Bad hardware.
Corrupt software.
Non Stock Firmware.
To eliminate the last two, you can flash the appropriate SBF.
To do this, follow the instructions on how to get your milestone back to stock here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696845
On the page to get sbf, scroll down to the 2.1 section and dowload the latest version for your carrier
This will completely wipe your phone, and make it like a new phone. If that doesn't resolve the issue, the problem is probably hardware related.

Thanks for quick-reply. But i tried this one before. But it didn't solve this issue. I'll try one more time... How could hardware (both bluetooth and Wi-Fi) be bad? There must be a way to return it back... I'll update this as i try again the original file...

I'd assume that the same chip runs both as is usually the case for embedded systems. If the original firmware doesn't work, the it's likely a hardware issue.

I tried a new update and bluetooth worked for once. And then stopped again. And I sent to warranty they said they cannot change all mainboard cause it'll cost near phone's cost. And after I see Bluetooth works for once I thought may be it's radio based problem. How can I update the original radio update only? Thanks in advance...

I have got exactly the same problem.
I have already sent it back to motorola under warranty and they changed a few things. It work for about a day and then exactly the same.
I thought the update to froyo would work, it did for a day and then reverts back to the same problem.
Have you solved this yet?

Hey there. I'm hoping that someone can help me out with this. A few days ago I updated to the latest rom from insertcoin. Since then I've had no data connection. Anything that requires Internet won't work. I've spent the day reflashing backups that I know are good but nothing worked. Tried different radios, checked apn settings and mobile data (which says I'm connected) without any success. In a moment of despair I reverted back to full stock hoping that it would solve the problem but again no joy.
At this stage I've run out of ideas which is why I've come grovelling to you guys. I couldn't find any solutions on Google, well nothing that helped. Everything looks like it's supposed to. Internet works over wifi but nothing works on mobile data. Any bright sparks out there with any suggestions ?

if you RUU back to stock and still have the problem you hardware failure not much we can do for you
try reseating the sim card

Thanks for the reply.I don't think it's the sim card cause I've tried it on another phone and it works fine.Hardware failure sounds more likely.I'm always careful when it comes to treating my phone.If I dropped it or something then I'd first think about a hardware problem,but nothing unusual has happened.Could flashing roms actually damage hardware ?

I one time did read about change the tel name in direct wifi to htc one that shold help someone wrote

[Q] Very strange issue with Moto X XT1058

Hello XDA community. Im having a weird issue with my wifi antenna wich doesn´t dettect ALMOST any network (at least not mine). Sometimes when Im at the street, some open wifis are shown, or some other closed also but never mine. I have tried everything, from going from 4.4.4 to 5.1. Im at Lollipop now, no issues at all except that the Wifi seems not working. Everything started after we rebooted Modem, all other devices connected except mine. Im contacting you in order to know if there is some firmware I can flash for the wifi antenna to see if that fix the problem.

EDIT: The only thread I have found related to this issue is this from Android Open Source Project, where they suggest to use a console to diagnostic the wifi driver: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1124 The thing is that i dont know i im using well the commands they sugest or maybe someone may have the right walk through to start from scratches so I can make an accurate diagnostic. Or maaaybe there is a way to flash the wifi drivers or modem??? thanks guys
