Samsung just leaked their Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for India.
This OTA update is not yet available to anyone but we of SamMobile found a way to get the update before…
This is the very first Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean TEST OTA Update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000). We wanted to give Samsung’s Die-Hard fans a taste of Jelly Bean before it’s officially released. This update will also help 3rd party Android Developers, like CyanogenMod Team, to improve their Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean custom ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
OTA Firmware Details:
Android Version: 4.1.1 – JRO03C
PDA: N8000DDALI1
Country: India (INU)
Build Date: September 7, 2012
Size: 297.7MB
OTA updates’ require a specific base firmware on which they can be flashed upon and are flashed through the stock Samsung Recovery.
This N8000DDALI1 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OTA update requires the user to be on N8000DDALH1 firmware.
Don’t worry we will guide you through all the steps on how you can apply this OTA update on your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000). Make sure you perform a backup of your data before attempting to install this!
Instructions for flashing the OTA Update:
- Make a backup of your data
- Download the Base firmware required by the OTA Update, N8000DDALH1 - Get it from http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=6157
- Unzip the file
- Open Odin 3.04 (Download it from http://www.mediafire.com/?sirg77a026z67ox)
- Restart the device into download mode (Press Power Button + Volume down)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a yellow/blue sign in Odin
- Add N8000DDALH1_N8000DDALH2_N8000DDLG5.tar.md5 to PDA
- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
- Start flash, sit back and wait a few minutes
- Download the N8000DDALI1 OTA Update (link fixed) Download it from http://hotfile.com/dl/170927342/26fc4f6/Samsung-Updates.com-OTA-GT-N8000-INU-20120907372093.zip.html
- Copy the OTA update to your External SD Card
- Restart the device into Recovery Mode (Press Power Button + Volume up)
- Select Apply update from External Storage
- Browse to the OTA update and flash it
- When OTA update is flashed perform “Wipe Data/Factory Restore” (Will format your internal SD Card)
- Reboot your device and Voila!
Install Root and CWM Rcovery
flow the steps
download Odin3_v3.04.rar and extract it in your computer
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?l336lwqlkqcn04d
copy CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip to your internal memory
Boot into ODIN mode by holding volume down and power. Volume down is the one closest to power.
Open ODIN on your computer, select the HighOnAndroidv1CWMRecoveryGTN8000.tar file in the PDA slot, uncheck auto reboot.
Hit start. It should flash recovery successfully
Now you want to boot directly into CWM, or you'll lose it. So while holding down volume UP (the one farther from power), hold down the power button. When you see the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 logo, let go of power, or else you'll keep rebooting, but keep holding volume UP. Or at least that's what I had to do, which was kind of surprising coming from other Samsung devices.
Once in CWM, flash the CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip file. Congratulations, you have root, but if you reboot now . when you reboot select yes disable recovery done

You can try this instead:

But honestly if I were you I wouldn't mess with any recoveries until some devs have looked at it to make sure it won't cause trouble.
I mentioned this in the other thread. Looks like the OTA has Note 2.0 features like the on the fly cut and paste.

now to just sit back and wait until someone pillages it into a CWM zip or even a custom rom, great stuff!

Stock, ICS Update new to Samsung devices. I own a Note for 10 days. It is on 2.3.6 XILB1 which I found out to be Italian Global. It is not rooted.
I would like to upgrade to ICS but when I searched the forum the are many threads with download links and I am confused wichone to download(wipe or non wipw???)
In a thread I've found
Just download the ICS file and flash via Odin.
1. Unrar ICS file.
2: Power off the phone.
3: Press and hold Power+Home+Vol Down to enter download mode.
4: Open ODIN and under PDA, load the tar/md5 file which you just downloaded.
5: Under ID:COM, wait for the device to be detected. You will see a yellow color with some port number inside it.
6: Hit Start and wait for ODIN to flash the new ICS firmware on your Galaxy Note.
As far as I understand I need PC Odin to flash but will it harm my device to flash a Germany Rom to Italian device. With HTC I had to change the CID according to ROM or Super CID the phone.
I prefer a clean install and setup so I don't mind loosing all my data and install all my apps back. Also I am mot planning to root my Note for now since I've only used root change boot animation and install Quick Boot and I can live without them.
A link to direct me to the correct file would be very appreciated.
thanks and best regards...

You may want to refer to this forum http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2337733
lots of guide
- Download the ROM from here
- Open PC Odin
- Go into Download mode on your Note
- Extract the zip and flash the md5 file
Voila.
the md5 file goes in the pda slot of pc odin, if your not familiar with it and make sure you have the samsung drivers installed, easy way is to install kies and plug your phone in and wait for it to connect once to ensure you have the proper drivers
I keep getting stuck on zimage. Uninstalled kies and left the drivers, so its not that. Any ideas. Never had issues flashing my epic with odin.
I tried to find out how to root my GN, GT-N7000B.
But I could not find out the way.
Even I checked Kernel Version, LA2 there is no way to root.
Finally, I think my phone is a kinds of Not Directly ROM.
So, I will downgrade my ROM.
Before that, I would like ask if there is anyone who succeed to root this model.
Thanks in advance.

a) coming from a rooted GB-ROM:
- download Abyss Kernel 4.2 from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?c65mndvpk6ocbaa
- put zip-file on your USB-storage
- boot in Recovery
- Flash Abyss Kernel 4.2!!!
- boot back in recovery (you find this option under 'advanced')
- FullWipe
- Flash ROM
- reboot system
- ...you are done
==> there have been reported problems with a constantly rebooting system when doing installation coming from a GB-ROM as posted above! So the safe and 100% successful way is installing LPY Stock-ROM, root Stock ROM and then go on as described below under point b2). Do not ask for a tutorial on how to install and root LPY Stock ROM....it is describe enough here in Forum!

Hello Guys,
Before few days i bought samsung galaxy tab2 p3100. P3100 is the asian version of tab2 which also include 3g+wifi+gsm.
After much searching and testing i managed to flash a cwm and was able to root my Tab.
A BIG FAT WARNING, I MAKE NO GUARANTEES THIS WILL NOT BRICK YOUR TAB, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
So i thought that many p3100 users are still waiting for a proper guide so here it is:
HOW TO FLASH CWM :
First of all download the odin attached and extract it to a folder on your pc/laptop where you can find it.
Now download the expresso_recovery.tar file from the below mentioned link and also download the update.zip file attached.
Put your tab in to download mode[Volume down+power on button]
Start odin by clicking odin.exe.
In odin just tick on auto reboot and thats all. If you see any ticks in any boxes except this just untick it.
Now connect your tab via usb and the odin will detect your tab. It will be in yellow colour when it is detected.
Now in odin in pda select the expresso_recovery.tar file.
After that just press start.
When the flashing is done you will see a green colour and it will be saying pass this means the cwm has been flashed.
Just check if the cwm is working by putting your tab in to recovery mode[volume up+power on button]
Update : Guys you can also use the TWRP TOUCH RECOVERY by "teamw" & ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 by "codeworkx".
ScreenShots, Cwm File & the original thread link posted below.
HOW TO ROOT
For rooting just put the update.zip file in your external sd card of your tab.
After that just put your tab in custom recovery mode.
You will get an option to select the file from external sd card.
Than select the update.zip file and you tab will be rooted and will reboot.
To check if its rooted just see in the applications menu if you are getting superuser app.
Enjoyyyy...

Simple Way to Root
Hi Guys,
Thanks tapan15in for giving us the the detailed Guide for CWM flash and Rootin GT-P3100
here is my 2 paise(aka 2cent) Guide for rooting the GT-P3100 with latest ROM and CWM
Step -1: :cyclops: Download the latest Android 4.0.4 ROM[P3100DDBLF2] from SamFirmware.com
[Good if u register]P3100DDBLF2.
Step 0: Download ODIN 1.85 and cwm recovery and root flash (attached)
ODIN N CWM
Step 1: Copy the attached zip file to external microsd card and load it into your device (Keep in mind external SD not internal memory)
Now Boot your Device in Download Mode and Flash The P3100DDBLF2 ROM using ODIN (for instructions on ODIN read first POST)
Step 2: Once the New ROM(Andoid 4.0.4) is Installed and rebooted... boot your device again into Download Mode. Now in this time use ODIN to flash the downloaded CWM Recovery(recovery.tar.md5) (IN PDA)
Step 3: Now Boot your Device to Recovery:fingers-crossed: CWM will be loaded. In CWM select install zip from sdcard --> select the copied zip file --> reboot
STEP 4: ENJOY your ROOTED Android 4.0.4 Device
P.S: Since CWM is flashed Software Update though downloads any new update but will fail to install...
FIX: Look for Updated ROM from samfirmware.com regularly and flash it in ODIN. Now ROM flashes will only update the existing installation (Ain't NO affects)
Okay the recovery works i will update the post now. Thanx Incredible
Nice buddy i flashed the new 4.0.4 but the old cwm which i have given didnt work now trying the cwm you have posted lets see if it works. And than will try to root it.
If it works than will update it in the first post
Thanx
My tab2 is already android 4.0.4 ( by OTA update ) .
Which method should i use?? THte first one ?

my father has a stock samsung galaxy tab (p1) running the horrible android 2.2 with touchwiz all over it
he asked me to update the device so it can run ICS
i've done that with my SGS1 which was easy, but now i have a problem.
when reading the guide for installing cm9, its says "This guide applies to a Samsung Galaxy Tab (GSM) on the stock 2.3 release"
my sgs1 was already running 2.3.4, so i just followed the instruction and that was that, but my fathers tab is stuck on 2.2 and has never been rooted or anything
my question is can i simply just apply the steps or do i have to update the device to 2.3 and then follow the instruction
i cant afford to brick the device or i'll never hear the end of it, he love his tab as if it was his child or something
PS. I've learnt how to root the device using (superoneclick) and i've also found how to flash CWM on it, can i do that and then flash the CM9 Rom to it.
im sorry if missed a similar post somewhere but im still a noob at this and i really wanna do it (froyo + touchWiz is a recipe for a crappy device :silly: )

Read the guide,

Basically to restock:
Download GB-stock-safe-v5.zip, unzip it and and flash with ODIN according to the guide.
Stop there and you will have Gingerbread
But since you want ICS, continue reading the guide.
- download ICS (CM9 or AOKP) and gapps-ics and put in external sd card.
- boot to download mode
- you need to use Odin to flash Overcome kerner tar
- once flashed the tab reboots.
- ignore the robotic voice, just force the tab to off
- boot to CWM recover (press vol-up and power )
- flash ICS (CM9 or AOKP)
- after flashing the system will convert your tab to MTD partition, but it will probably bring you to recovery or stuck at boot.
- force reboot to recovery again
- flash ICS again
- immediate after complete, flash gapps
- reboot

- reboot

thanks a bunch, i'll download the stuff and see how it goes
wish me luck
one last question
when flashing the GB rom, i cudnt see the checked options in ODIN, it seems to me that all three options (auto partition, re-partition and i cudnt even read the last one) should be checked
yes, F. Reset Time (Force Reset Time)
all three checked
thank you so much priyana, and im soo sorry for being such a noob and wasting your time but pls bare with me
everytime i try to root the device using superoneclick the damn thing gets stuck on step no.5 (waiting for devices) is there a workaround this thing or maybe a different program, i've tried rooting my friends device using the same version of the program (his device is gt-i9100G) and it worked perfectly, why this idiot tab is giving me sooo much trouble
No need to root.
Just flash using Odin. Just start from page 7.

can i downgrade from 4.0 to 2.3 by flashing the rom using odin, if its possible, what r the steps
ps im having some problems with the wifi in cm9
Hi, yes, same thing as before
use the guide, start from page 7 where the Odin screen shot is
GB-stock-safe, with pit file selected and "repartition" ticked.
But hang on, you are from middle east.
Do you have wifi cut out when a SIM card is inserted?
That is a known issue with middle eastern tab due to some wifi country code, that affects all Android 4.0
But I could be wrong, you may not have the issue.
Worth a try though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445766
i am
and i've never heard about this before, it used to work ok before
all the phones in the house works ok witth the sim inserted connected to wifi
i'll give it a try anyway
back to plan B
i've downloaded a rom for saudi arabia (arabic language support) but the downloaded files is .tar.md5
how can i flash this one
Do try the fix anyway.

Hope you guys can help me.
Was updating my ICS (Criskelorom) to JB 4.1.2 XXLT6 ROM of Philz (PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5) via Odin 3.07. Initially had some issues but, managed to get to where Odin resulted in a PASS. On REBOOT I only get up to the Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000 screen with a yellow ! triangle at the bottom. I was able to get to both Recovery and Download modes but would never get passed to homescreen and just stay on black screen.
Did it several times and got worried I'd brick my phone so I ran the ICS zip I had stored on my SD via Recovery mode and was able to get my phone running. Still want to pursue my JB upgrade though but, not sure if I was doing it right. Any help would be much appreciated guys.
Here is what I did...
MADE SURE OF THE FF.:
1) Install USB driver for Samsung Galaxy Note to transfer files between the phone and the computer using download of KIES from Samsung site
2) Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone to connect the Android device with the computer
3) created a back-up of my contacts only
4) charged to above 80% battery charge
5) The phone should be factory unlocked and not locked to any particular carrier - I had unlocked it during my ICS upgrade from the GB original OS
THEN FOLLOWED THE STEPS:
Step-1: Download PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 for Samsung Galaxy Note to the computer
Step-2: Download Odin 3.07 which will help to install the root package on the phone. Extract the Odin zip to get Odin3 v3.07.exe file with some other files
Step-3: Place the Galaxy Note into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot appears on the phone's screen. Now press the Volume Up button to continue to enter into Download Mode
Step-4: Run Odin3 v3.07.exe as an Administrator
Step-5: Connect the Note to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait for some time until Odin detects the phone. When the device is connected successfully, the ID: COM box in Odin will turn yellow with the COM port number. Also, the successful connection will be indicated by a message saying Added in Odin.
Note: If the Added message does not come then try another US port, try the one located at the back side of the computer. If Odin still fails to detect the device then re-install USB driver
Step-6: In Odin, click the PDA button and select the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 file
Step-7: Now configure the Odin settings. Ensure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes are selected in Odin. As for the Re-Partition, uncheck the option
Step-8: Once everything is set, click the Start button in Odin. The installation should begin now and would take about few minutes to complete
Step-9: When the installation process is completed the phone will restart automatically. And soon a PASS message with green background will appear in the Odin indicating successful installation. After the home screen appears on the phone, unplug the USB cable from the device to disconnect it from the computer
Was able to reach Step-9 but my phone would not get to home screen.
Please help me with any advise anyone can give me?
thanks.
By the way, saw another option for Steps 5-6:
Step-5: Connect your Note N7000 with your PC using a data cable. Once the device is successfully connected, you will see a notification in Odin in the bottom left saying Added!! - if for some reason, you do not see the said notification, try another USB port. Also, check for ID:COM port being depicted by a number in yellow to make sure that you have successfully added your device.
Select the following files in Odin at their respective tabs from extracted XXLT6 firmware folder:
Step-6:
Click the PDA button to select the .tar file extracted earlier.
Click the Phone button, and select file with *modem* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Next, click the CSC button, and select file with *csc* in its name (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Click the PIT button to select the .pit file. (ignore, if this file does not file exist).
Ensure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are the only options selected in Odin window. Also ensure to select Re-Partition checkbox only if you are using a .pit file.
Except since I only had the TAR file I ignored the rest so I assumed I was doing it right up to that point. Also, the YELLOW highlight in Odin 3.07, wasn't yellow but kind of light blue.
That was it. All I did. Still, not succesful.
Please help.
Thanks.
Phew! That's a lot to read.. The file you are trying to flash is just a kernel not a whole rom. That's why your phone after the flash has a JB kernel and ICS rom. That's why the phone does not boot. To upgrade to JB, download a stock rom from sammobile.com and flash it using Odin the same way just in PDA of Odin.

Sorry about the read. =)
Was thinking I'd rather be complete than have anyone helping need to ask more clarifications to help me. =D
Oh that's why. Thanks for the reply. I will do that.
So I need to get the WHOLE ROM from the site you mentioned. A ROM that is complete, Kernel and all. Actually I thought I did get a complete ROM. Did not realize it was just a Kernel. What would be the best way to determine if a ROM is complete? What is usually the size of the file itself? The one I downloaded was like 8MB so I thought that was pretty big. Kinda looked for awhile for that XXLT6 original JB ROM so didn't stop to think if it was just a Kernel. My bad.
By the way, are the ROMs on Sammobile rooted? Or do I need to root them?
thanks again!

They are just stock roms, to root again use the philz kernel but for jb this time. Also use the .zip this time instead of tar file, you can flash the zip file from stock recovery itself. You can raed more in philz kernel thread

Got it, thank you Sirs you've all been a very big help. I ran into some issues with TW right after completing the install of 4.1.2. Every darn thing was stopping even acore and TW. Was about to chicken out and go back to my safety ICS ROM when I got to read some stuff about needing to Clear/Reset on Recovery mode after any firmware flashing as well as Clearing the Cache so I did. And voila, it worked. I think I'll rest my worrying brain for now on the root. =P
I'll root it next week. I'll just have fun with it for now. Been up playing around with this for over 24hours now. Having too much fun but already drained.
Thank you again for you help!
same situation here...!!!
hello XDA ppl...
I had ICS 4.0.4 and attempted to use PhilZ-cwm6-XXLTA-ATL-5.15.0.tar.md5.
That took me to the same situation I think... kernel for JB and ICS ROM...
I power on my phone and it gets to a GT-N7000 Note + Yellow Triangle screen and NO MORE!
I can get to PhilZ Recovery Mode or ODIN Download Mode.
That´s all...
I will attempt right now what you told the creator of this thread and update if it helped.
any help is welcome...
FIXED!!!
AWESOME!!!
My bot is back again!!!
Thanks a lot guys...
This thread worked as a charm. :victory:
1. Odin 3.0.X
2. Factory Firmware
3. Flash it as PDA.
4. No yellow triangle.
5. Removed battery and waited 5 seconds.
6. recovery mode.
7. clear data/factory reset.
Done!

Safest way to get to JB with wipe (that is formatting) is to get philz kernel for ICS and then reboot to recovery do factory reset and wipe /system /data /internal storage /cache and then reboot to download mode and flash JB from odin. Else if you dont want to loose data, just boot into download mode and flash JB using odin.

Yeah!! May be you want to start by not wiping on a stock ICS kernel.
