CM7 Disable Volume Wake

If you are running CM7 and you want to disable the volume wake function, it's an easy text edit.
Navigate to this file with root explorer, mount R/W, long press and select 'open in text editor'
/system/usr/keylayout/mecha-keypad.kl
You will see a line that looks like this.....
Code: key 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
Remove the "WAKE" so it looks like this.
Code: key 114 VOLUME_DOWN
just remove the "wake" text
Do the same for Code: key 115 VOLUME_UP
I changed those same keys in /system/usr/keylayout/mecha-keypad-v0.kl
Make the changes, save them and reboot.

I dont have it either and im running the latest 7.0.3.1...it does have a "volume button music control" setting..not for disable WAKE
I can confirm that this method works PERFECT

No problem. If it bootloops pull battery and enter hboot. Then boot into recovery and flash the kernel I have listed in my sig.

Simple Procedure To Make SGM Sound Loud...!

As Everyone Knowx SGM Sound Is Not To Loud So I Use A Code To Increase It...!
I Tested This For Like 3 or More Monthx Nd My Speakerx Are Fine Too... (No Damages, Not Blow, No Sound Problem)
Here Is The Procedure How I Do It...!
1). Type *#*#197328640#*#*
2). Click on [5] AUDIO
3). Then Click [8] MAX8899 AMP
4). Nw For Headset Select [3] or For Mp3 Playback [8]
5). Click On [1] PRE AMP GAIN
6). Select [2] 9DB ----> Dnt Select 20DB (Seriouxly Ur Speaker Wont Sound Good)=P
7). Go Back 2 Times (By Pressing Option Button Nd Then Clicking Back)
8). Click [2] FORCE ON/OFF -----> Nw Select [2] FORCE OFF First Nd Then [1] FORCE ON
Ur Done! (In Case Ur Already Listening To Music, U'll Hear The Difference)
*If Uh Restart Ur Mini Uh Have To Do Thix Procedure Again*

I visited the page, but it only shows a file which i need to put, that means i cannot edit anything myself. This is what i understand.
Are you saying that after following the method on that page we will be able to accss the Music option ??

[Q] V28c softkeys not working?

After flashing V28c, my soft keys (the ones at the bottom) are not responding ?? Someone else with this problem? what did i do wrong

Every Softkey or only the Home button?
Are the buttons vibrating if you press them?
Have you restored anything with Titanium Backup?

They all light up, but I can't use them (so, No vibration either). I used Titanium in the past, but not with this rom ?

Same problem for me.
But if the phone is connected to power cable, the softkeys are working.

I flashed V28c using smartflash, but the touch buttons didn't work?? That's why i'm asking this question

I can only repeat myself. If v28c for whatever reason (i think a bad install without wipes/factory reset after first boot) or maybe you just set it to off in settings-> display, take an older v20x version and flash it using smartflash.

Just flashed V20o.. buttons are working, but not as responsive as when i bought the phone. Isn't there a build.prop tweak for the responsiveness of the softkeys :/

I am using Original 4.04 ICS...And same while charging soft keys works fine...other than its unresponsive most of the time..Please help...It happened after 4.04 Upgrade..Prior to that It was working fine...

I am using Cyanogen 10.0 and Buttons are still not working...

Is deep sleep working in it...?? I tried slim cm9 by A_U, mini cm10 by A_U and many ther roms..i.e 4.x.x
Deep sleep wasnt working in any... i checked using CPUspy...plz help me with a proper kernel dat has deep sleep working in it.

I have question to You, do you have any button crashed ? I have power button crashed and I have to click it very much to see screen off ans then deep sleep work because button is all time clicked

im getting battery drain the phone is always al 600 mhz according to CPU spy... when i check in battery it says that Media has been active the entire time.... is this normal?

It's not normal, deep sleep works, so it's your problem. This means the media scanner keeps searching something.

Power button not working...!! hence Deep sleep also..HELP

Exactly ur right. My opwer button is not working.. is that the reason why deep sleep is not working in all my roms...?? is there any solution to fix that.. i dont think its a Hardware problem.. because if i switch off my phone it automatically starts up witout pressing power button.
i tried all the stuff on google to repair.. except flashing back to stock rom via ODIN.. havent tried that,
pls help me with the power button thing.. and deep sleep problem because of that...:crying:

instal any media scanner, turn it on, and wait...wait, wait, wait, until its done...for me its take about 2,3 hours to scan all sd card...after that, i have better battery life than on cm7

For power button fix, click it very much until you see "screen off" then deep sleep work .
But now you cant lock your phone so I remap "volume -" as "power button" and I can normally lock phone and get to power menu :good:
For remap key you have to go to /system/user/keylayout/sec_key.kl
Search for volume down ( or something like this ) then delete "volume down" and write "power" instead of "volume down" and after some space write "wake" .
So just change from :
key 158 BACK
key 102 HOME WAKE
key 139 MENU
key 107 POWER
key 115 VOLUME_UPWAKE
key 114 VOLUME_DOWN
key 28 DPAD_CENTER
key 106 DPAD_RIGHT

Or you can use twrp recovery. It's touch based so you don't need to press volume buttons at all for anything.
