You can use ROM MANAGER...check out the link below:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager
Free App Called Quick Boot On Play Store needs root though

Or you can use twrp recovery. It's touch based so you don't need to press volume buttons at all for anything.

If you are running CM7 and you want to disable the volume wake function, it's an easy text edit.
Navigate to this file with root explorer, mount R/W, long press and select 'open in text editor'
/system/usr/keylayout/mecha-keypad.kl
You will see a line that looks like this.....
Code: key 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKE
Remove the "WAKE" so it looks like this.
Code: key 114 VOLUME_DOWN
just remove the "wake" text
Do the same for Code: key 115 VOLUME_UP
I changed those same keys in /system/usr/keylayout/mecha-keypad-v0.kl
Make the changes, save them and reboot.
thank you so much man
It's also in CyanogenMod Settings.

if you done rooting and not using custom ROM
- install a root explorer (i you don't have one)
- goto /system/usr/keylayout/
- click the R/W button above
- open the TWL4030_Keypad.kl
- find a string "key 95 gesture", change it to "key 95 CAMERA WAKE_DROPPED" or something else you (do) know

To unlock your device you should write: "key 95 POWER WAKE"

In CM7, that is normal. You can't wake with G button. Only stock or CM10.

Install Xposed framework, then install xposed! tweakbox. (you must be rooted)
the go to miscellaneous and check the "skip tracks with volume keys" box.
Cheers!
Assuming that you are rooted and have some knowledge about modifying android files (.apks), just click (or tap) on this link and checkout the Third modding guide there.. its "How to use Volume Rocker to Skip Sound Track"
One more thing, modifying it looks like no easy job, be sure to follow all the instructions correctly... :good:
Some third party music app can do that (ie: player pro). But you have to buy the app though. :good:
Simply use headset button controller .apk
