Good day,
I know…I know… it’s September, I’m probably the last one who decide to try ICS on my Bell Raider/Vivid…
And I’m S-OFF (JuopunutBear), WCX, HBOOT- 1.85.2121….and I only get Boot Loop after every ROM I try….
I wipe everything, Data/ Case, Dalvik…everything before each install…
I flash the kernel for each rom before and after with fastboot….
I have tried also other Kernels ….
HTC Logo,.. and after that the animation of the respective ROM….turn OFF and starts over again…
So far I have tried :
-Blitz_2.35.0a
-Dark Raider_v1.5.5.
-HOlICS_1.3_official_en_release
-OTA_HOLIDAY_ICS_35_S_BM_3.38.666.2-1.65.666.3_release_255932wpop8vtj8tts3ou3-1
-Pegasus_2.5.0a
-RaidCity v1.3.0 Plus FinalX ICS Sense 3.6 based on SKT 3.42 for HTC Holiday by ChunD.K – XDA
-Stock HK ICS Sense 3.6 - deodexed rooted zipaligned
-Stock_ATT_ICS
Boot Loop every time…..
If it’s S-OFF (JuopunutBear), WCX, HBOOT- 1.85.2121 can I try RELOCK, and try an RUU Rom ?
Is that even an option ?
Any Advice is really appreciated.:crying:
If you can still get into the recovery then I wouldn't think you would need to run the ruu , but if you can only get into hboot then try to reflash a different recovery if that don't then if that won't work run the ruu to get ya back to a working phone and start over , in order to run the ruu you will need to relock the bootloader , I suggest using the toolkit it makes life much easier.

Just seen you knew to relock sorry I just miss read .
No...
Don't RUU
Flash faux's kernel on the stock rom and try to boot...
Then flash what you want

If you dont have the official ics installed first, you cant install custom versions of ics.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612685 this should help if you were still on GB when you tried flashing those roms

Thats for devices returning to s-on and he isnt bricked, just bootlooping because it sounds like he is on gingerbread when he says "I’m probably the last one who decide to try ICS on my Bell Raider/Vivid…"
Note: This will fix only devices which were bricked by turning S ON. And bricks caused by a damaged hboot via interrupted OTA update/RUU flash on a S-ON device. Any devices bricked with other ways are currently *not* supported. We are working on it

Yes I just did all those steps…no issue….still I’m in BOOT LOOP after each ROM install…
I have tried so far two roms :
RaidCity v1.3.0 Plus FinalX ICS Sense 3.6 based on SKT 3.42 for HTC Holiday by ChunD.K – XDA
DarkRaider_v1.5.5
Still Boot Loop : Htc Logo….Dark Raider or Android logo ( ROM specific animation )…..screen black…REBOOT….
I did Wipe before ROM install…every time….
Any other ideas ?

Yes,

I could not set up the APN ( for Fido Canada)….
Now I’m installing RUU_HOLIDAY_ICS_35_S_Rogers_WWE_3.43.631.2_Radio_3.05.4740.21_34.30.701040.22_release_264282_signed….

I need my phone at work this week…so I guess I will stick with this ROM for now…
Thanks again
Cool deal.
Maybe get that tool kit to lock and unlock incase it happens next time ,
and maybe try a different recovery just to see if it will flash better for ya seems like these phones vary a little what may work best for some may not for others I've found .
Ok I very recently had the exact same phone to work on for a friend and had the same thing happen to me. I got it figured out too so here's what I did..and what I'd been missing all along.
Unlock ur bootloader at htcdev.com and if you haven't yet s-off'd your phone head over to unlimited.io and follow the guide for the raider.
Next install a custom recovery, and then the rom:
Use the dark raider installer for this. I use wcxrecovery but any should work..cwm, twrp..I've tried them all..
Install the rom, full wipe, choose your preferred setup, and when you get to kernel choices, install the stock one. It's an unsecured boot image, which I learned is necessary to flash before u can flash other kernels...it should be that simple. Then you let the phone boot once, wait for it to load, reboot to recovery and reflash your Rom of choice. I just reflashed dark raider and used the default kernel and set max CPU all the way up..lol..much faster. I like the desensed version the best so far.
Let me know if u get it.. flash that stock kernel first. Then reboot load up and flash a custom rom entirely. Make sure you're s-off tho. It really makes it simpler to flash roms.

Also..try and download the Bell ics ruu, if u can't find it I have it.. maybe I could be nice and put it up somewhere for you and anyone else in need. I had a hard time downloading it..stupid file hosting sites and their speed caps...

Wipe
Flash Rom
Flash kernel (via recovery)
Reboot
If that doesn't work * PM ME *
My advice would.be to restore it to stock and try to sell it for a newer phone or atleast one with more of a developer backing. I rarely see any kind of action here Rom-wise.

I am having difficulty myself finding a rom that actually works with this phone. So far, I have had to settle with Untouched ROM, and I have flashed an overclocked RAM kernel. Had some force closes for a while, but grabbed a tweaker and lowered the RAM speed, so I'm good now. My advice is to stick with what is stable first, and then add apks and tweaks and other customizations to bring it to where you would like it.
First, can you state your recovery, is it stock or custom (like ClockworkMod).
This Explos!on ROM... are you sure this is compatible with the Desire C?
I would suggest Nameless Rom [LINK] but since you hate Sense so much :crying: I would consider CyanogenMod [Link], google it for more info.
I would flash CWM if you don't have it yet if I were you, g'luck mate :good:

Im using cwm recovery yes, but i cant even find an oc kernel or whatever it, everytime i flash a new boot.img i just bootloop..
Ok, to clarify.
It does not matter if you use nameless rom and hate sense, you can remove sense using nikhils customiser
There is no cyanogenmod for our phone yet
you dont seem to really get ROMing, Majellico, explosion rom was built for desire c and works with no other phone
because every rom has to be built for a phone specifically.
Now for flashing explosion (though i recommend nameless)
First, you do a full system wipe in the recovery
then you delete cache and dalvik cache
choose "apply zip from sdcard"
choose the rom .zip-file
it should now flash.
now for flashing the boot.img,
boot into bootloader, choose fastboot and connect your usb cable
go to the folder where you have extracted boot.img of your choice (you will have to see if the 767OC or 806OC work, if it doesnt just repeat these steps with the other bootimg.)
hold shift and right-click, choose "open commandprompt here" or something like that (my pc is configured in dutch i dont know what that options called in english)
type: "fastboot flash boot boot.img", without the quotation marks
now reboot your phone

Sorry for the misunderstanding for the Explosion ROM, I heard of it only in this forum and am researching it. There is actually a CyanogenMod for the Desire C (just very buggy, no WiFi so useless), thank you for that other information as well.

Hi,
I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice please.
I bought my son a new carrier unlocked HTC Sensation XL. It came with Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread). For the first week it worked perfectly. A message popped up saying there was an update and did he want to install it. He left it on all night with Wi-Fi enabled. Next morning it said update successfully completed and to restart the phone (which he did).
The first most obvious thing he noticed was the interface had changed. I checked the settings and found it had updated to ICS 4.0.3. This is when the problems started. The phone began to restart over and over.
In desperation we tried removing the battery and doing a factory reset. It made no difference. Once the phone was on for about 20 seconds it would restart and not stop until we turned off the phone or the battery went dead.
We even tried the hard reset as suggested by HTC support but no change.
Any suggestions as to how we might fix this?
Is there any way we can get the phone to reset back to 2.3.5 or do we have to send it back to where we bought it from?
cheers

Would require rooting the phone and installing recovery? The phone is still under warranty but as it was bought online I was hoping not to have to send it back. At the moment it is still stock and I'd prefer not to to do anything that will void warranty.

Well first of all you need to know what your cid is and download right ruu/stock rom.
Then just plug your phone in to computer when fully rebooted(usb-debug on) and run downloaded gingerbread exe.

If you have debugging enabled just get adb for your computer, open command line, cd to the directory of adb the execute 'abd getvar cid' and get your cid, then go online and find the ruu that suits your cid and phone, the run it on windows and just follow the prompts!
And done!
Hi everyone,
Recently I tried to follow a post from xda dev on putting a new kernel on my HTC Desire C.
Although I followed all the steps I am now unable to get past the boot screen wit the htc logo.
I have tried a number of solutions to make it work but nothing so far, backup recovery failed, changing to another kernel failed.
I think that at this point it might be bricked, and all that I can see is the logo and a disclaimer message.
Does anyone has any idea if I could fix it, and what do I need to do?
Kind regards,
Florin
Edit: thanks to aashay960 for telling me how to fix this.
The solution was to reinstall kernel and rom (since I made a mess of it initially)
Current config : CyanogenMod 10 + N.O.P.E Kernel 875Mhz

I tried the Prometheus Kernel for sense linked in your signature with the stock. I got to the HTC logo screen and it got stuck there. It might be that the method I used was wrong.
Would it be possible to use the ones you do? Cyanogem mode and the N.O.P.E Kernel?
Can I install them only with recovery? And is there and "xda approved" method of installing kernels and custom roms?
Thanks,
Florin
Flash a lower frequency Prometheus Sense Kernel from fastboot.
You cannot use nope for sense roms. Nope is for Jellybean roms only.
As of now we have two ways to flash a kernel on this device. One is fastboot, which I personally use. Second is the auto Boot.img flasher that you will find if you search..
For now, tell me what frequency you tried. And try a lower one.

Hi, I forgot to mention in the previous one that I initially used the 816 one, and then switched to the lower one 767.
Is it worth it to try a "clean install" as in a new configuration with a new kernel and rom?
No a wipe is not necessary.
Just make sure you do
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Try an even lower one.
Now that your bootloader is unlocked. Why not try a custom rom?

my 64 bit is stuck in fastboot usb.
I flashed the philz touch recovery and flashed the DREAMER but now it's stuck in fastboot usb/hboot. It's not finding the recovery at all andiattempted there factory reset with no luck. If anyone could help me out I'd be so grateful. Thanks in advance.

Here is the Rom i have created from the Nandroid backup (untested)
64 Bit Rooted HTC Sense for UK Desire 510 (Stock with all bloat ware)
Instructions:
Flash Philztouch through fastboot and flash rom through philztouch
Link:

Played completely dumb and said phone wont boot and android has gone, but they have all the RUU's which go on straight through Hboot so its very easy for them to fix i also re locked the boot loader before handing it over
The ROM should work though, just a disclaimer
