Hi there,
Can't say much on your Q if your phone's going to be unlock if you flash the LRQ firmware but this much I can say. If you bought your phone lock originally to your carrier, upgrading it MIGHT lock your phone (not 100% sure though).
and YES the new LRQ firmware does have some touch of touchwiz UX (with some fancy Gallery 3D to match it with).

I would like to upgrade firmware via samsung kies to 2.3 gingerbread, but I am looking for my countries stock froyo rom info and download if possible so I can flash it using Odin and then upgrade.
I got a hold of my buddy here in Cape Town South Africa and his Froyo details are below. If someone can guide me directly to get the files like the info below I will really appreciated.

I am at a loss to work out what version of ROM I am actually on-
if I do *#1234# I get
PDA: N7000XXKKA
PHONE: N7000XXLA3
CSC: N7000OXXKK6
I know I started with XXKKA. I then rooted it and updated to a LA3 ROM.
the reason I want to know if that certain updates/tweaks appear to only work with certain versions of ROM... so am on I LA3 or have I missed a step along the way??
I am new to Samsung jumping over from an HTC Desire Z where things were a little more straight forward it would appear

Your Firmware version of ROM (PDA) is KKA
Your Modem version (PHONE) is LA3
And ur CSC is on KK6
i recommed you to flash a custom rom like rocket-rom or sheep-rom...
then u're on newest version everywhere, e.g. Rocket-ROM v19 has:
PDA: LA4
PHONE: LA4
CSC: LA1
This is nearly the newest.

Please Please Please can someone tell me whats going on, i flshed the above one file flash from sammobile and all went ok phone rebooted debranded etc lovely.
now on sam mobile they have two files within a few days of each other with exact same details:

Go to that site and download the firmware of your region what have or your phone originally what have.and flash it from odin.these are the firmware that unrooted and original files.
But why you have to that firmware?
I mean many boatware and some unwanted files are in that firmware which makes your phone a little slow down.
Try stocklite 7 its a stock rom and much better battery life and performance.

My wife likes the stock xeu firmware it was a one package full write and phone is working lovely, i had a look at myth but not ready to start playing with roms just yet. i just wanted to know if the xeu firmware i flashed is definately 2.3.3 , i managed to answer my own question as i download both files 2.3.6 and 2.3.3 and did a binary compare and both files were identical so i guess the xeu version of 2.3.6 hasn`t been released yet.

I have add a Youtube video to explain the problem, it would be great to check it out first.
This video shows a weird problem with the Samsung Galaxy S advance I9070 screen, it lags before turning the screen on correctly and showing sometimes a bright line (very bright line randomly positioned on the screen which is not seen here in this video) or a pixelated image of what was on the screen before putting it in sleep mode (clearly demonstrated on this video).
The phone was running this ROM when first time it showed this issues :

I meant by this ROM the first one, gingerbread, then I've tried the jelly been ROM because i thought that is a software issue and it maybe addressed by a ROM update. Looks like it's not a software issue to me.

Maybe try to use firmware that isn't branded, just general for Your country. I know it happens when You've lost Your imei. Is Your imei the correct one?
