How to change cwm recovery path to internal sd? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using the cwm recovery 6.0.1.2 that's with the hydracore and when I do a backup it chooses the ext sd card for backup.. I don't have much space there and I want the backup to be placed in the internal storage.. How can I change this?

you can choose in cwm backup/restore menu : backup internal sd.
or make a backup in external, then copy paste the clockworkmod dir in internal sd

Ive noticed some cwm-r versions are kind of "reversed" too when it comes to backup/restore and install from locations... when you chose internal the cwm-r uses the external and the other way around. so if you have chosen to backup to internal but it put it on external anyways then try to do the backup to external to have it on the internal sd don't know if that's the case with version you use though

No.... the latest the version seems to be loading it correct.
When I choose internal.. It goes to the internal storage.
But this was not the case with earlier ones that we had with speedmod and notecore

You need to use the right CWM version. The latest CWM (5.0.2.0) provided by ROM manager (see market), for example, uses the external SD as default.
Sorry for hijacking the thread
But how to backup to the internal using CWM5? I cannot even the mount the Internal SD.

What happens if you start CWM with the external SD taken out?
(Do you mean you cannot mount the internal via adb while in CWM?)

There have been a lot of problems with ext file systems on the sd cards and mounting in the recovery. Some claiming it to be unsupported other that it works. Only thing you can do is try to make the partition with different tools. For example mkfs.ext2, gparted, different windows tools etc. Also different sd cards if you have.
Hope it helps.

Yes, you can find them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1098745.html
If you need v5 you could also try to mount the internal SD manually in CWM via adb shell and the following commands:
umount /sdcard
mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p9 /sdcard
^Thanks guys! Its working
Let me try ....
May I know, where to set Ext SD card as default, inside the ClockworkMod Recovery or the Rom Manager inside set it ?
i just bought and installed rom manager from market last night and when i did backup of my current bell 2.3.4 rom, looked on ext sd, not there, thought b/u didn't worklooked on int storage, there it was? how do i change settings to ext... looked for 30min. thank-you for any help
mine saves backups to internal. but only finds backups from external, so I must move files to backup.
My clockwork goes like this
-launch backup from application in use mode, it saves backups on internal
-manually enter recovery and launch backup, it saves on external

CWM makes the backup to external sd by default, unless you have the internal sd version made by rusty.
Flash CWM from ROM Manager and it should solve the problem. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&hl=en
v5.0.2.7 gives you a choice where it backs up to, which is nice.
How did u get v5.0.2.7. For me ROM Manager is still showing 5.0.2.0 as the latest version.

I do share them, so it's in the dev forum if you want a look.

[Q] Partition SD card using CWM recovery

hello guy
i want to ask u all
how can i partition my sd card using cwm?
i can see advanced > partition sd card
if can, can u show how to do it and what to do after done this step?
is it safe?
i want to do it via minitool partition but i do not have sd card reader
i'm using ketut blackhawk dxkt7 rom
You can partition the sd card using CWM recovery.
Be sure to backup your data as in the partition the sd card is formatted.
After selecting partition sd card the first thing you will see is the option to select the size of the partition that you want to make (generally select 1024=1gb).
Next will be the swap size. This is optional.
After selecting these options your sd card will be formatted with a 1gb ext partition.
Hope this helps.

I use CWM partitioning in conjunction with DTA2SD and it's awesome
Herpderp Defy.
I'm with SuperAce609 here. Look into my signature and find the link in which I've thanked him. After partitioning your SD card, the only thing you have to do is install S2E and reboot your SGA after you install any CM7 based Custom ROM. & boom! No matter if you install 100+ apps, you will never be out of internal memory.
use the search option.

Ok, this is my LG Optimus 3D system:
System ROM:1GB
Internal ROM: 1GB
Internal SD Card: 6GB
Ext SD Card: 32GB
I always facing "out of internal memory" problem. So, if I ever partition my SD Card vi CWM, what will change? Which part can be greater in size?

Can't. CWM makes ext3 partition, period.
You'd have to modify cwm to get it to partition in ext4 format.
I found this "4EXTRecovery" interesting for making ext4, just to make sure if anyone use and confirmed it work.

Thanks.
According to my experience.. cwm 5.0.2.6 for galaxy ace makes an ext2 partition.. It doesn't give any other ext option.. I don't know how is it possible to make ext3/4 partition using cwm..
By the way, what's the latest cwm version for galaxy ace ??

Ouch. Just do a fresh rom install just to be safe. Or just do a Nandroid backup and move it to the new SD and restore.

+1 nandroid backups store symbolic links.
-Make a nandroid backup.
-Copy all info on your class 4 sd card to your pc.
-Copy all info to your new sd card.
-Restore the nandroid backup.
Edit: just keep the same partition format on your new sd card.
